photograph your espresso when the cup is full, BEFORE you've drank it and slobbered all over the cup like a fucking disgusting pig.
Photographs of coffee and espresso are the most cliche meme out there, I don't know how in the hell you fucked that up.

I'm a bit into older, manual lenses. Since I have an entry level Nikon, M42 lenses are out of question (since the lack of infinity focus). I've found these two recently (factory f-mount lenses), but I don't know these lenses at all, and I could not really find enough on the net. (Right now THIS focal length would be nice to me, but Nikon lenses are just sooo expensive.) What is your opinion about these two lenses, /p/? Thanks. (Pictures are of the lenses.)

use the gear thread instead of making your own threads for crap like this
>>2903105
it IS in gear thread too, but nobody answered. so shut the fuck up.
I'm planning on buying either a 35mm or 50mm lens that's under $500 AUD for my D3100. I own the 18-55 kit lens and the 55-200. They're both rather shitty, but the kit lens pales in comparison to my 55-200. So I thought I'd get something that's significantly better closer up and in low light like the 35 or 50. If I'm wanting to do portraits and close-ups, which one would be better? Should I just save up for something more superior or what? Or would that be a waste of money?

whats your budget? I'd assume you would want slowmotion options as well. Also 1080p is the standard for quality these days so unless you deliberately want 720p you should spend the money.

Well as promised me and the same model are back. Some shit went down and i had to go for a used D7000 instead of a D750 like i wanted, still, some shots were taken by yours truly, the Ricoh GR.
As you guys pointed out, we tried to use more variety in the poses, and outfits, and settings. And hopefully ive gotten the processing down. Again, please tell me what i could improve on, its much appreciated!

I'm running a standard Canon T3i Rebel. And I'm about to start shooting for a Walking Dead fan film. And while I am not running film, and instead, digital (contrary to what The Walking Dead uses), what lens would you recommend going into a Walking Dead-esque project?

Now that two of our own are on ppixel, what's your excuse for not getting featured?
5hoe hasn't posted on /p/ in a long ass time, though, so it's not really fair to say he's one of "our own".
whos the other one?
hey, I've been on Petapixel too
Is it just me or is this guy a pretentious faggot whose edits are complete shit, with washed out contrast and vomit inducing bloom and lens flares?
Holy shit these suck so bad. (Except for a couple of them)
Just wanted to get that off my chest because I didn't want to make an account to comment on the article and let this guy know how garbage his edits are.

Anyway, discuss.
lol I like this -
you can tell that he has clone stamped the left side of the image to hide the riverbank, but he has done such a shitty job (even leaving repitition in the foliage) that he has had to cover it up with a massive light bloom that looks more like he got his finger in the shot.
This guy enjoys hitting the contrast sliders and photo filters hard.
Some of his shots arent too bad at all, but he needs to lay off the sliders and, damn, lay off the LIGHT BLOOMS TO COVER UP SHIT I DONT LIKE.
>>2902400
Ffs, the unprocessed one looks a lot better and that's saying something.
That bloom is like a child finding his first PS torrent at age 11
First one is total gore

>I actually think it looks pretty good in black.
So good it costs an extra hundred bux
I have $500 set aside to buy film cameras.
What should i buy /p?
I am hoping to get a range of them, not just one.
Also not medium format.
I already have a dslr but i want to shoot film as well.
And finally preferably manual cameras, not auto or too modern as it can end up looking to similar to my dslr.
Are you serious, or is this a troll thread?
>>2902054
im guessing you are a feminist.
>>2902055
I'm pretty sure you're an idiot.
Just go and buy whatever looks neat to you after searching on ebay for "35mm mechanical camera". It won't make any difference what you choose to blow your money on.
>inb4 MANUAL CAMERAS ARE GREAT. Retard, that's not the point.
The great benefit of MF film camera systems is that the backs are interchangeable. There are digital backs for Hasselblad and Mamiya, but they are so expensive you'd have to sell a kidney to buy one.
Now, I was thinking, how feasible would it be to make one yourself? I have elektrotechnical knowledge and experience with PIC programming and RPi. I was looking at one of my spare film backs and when you would tale out the insert (but keep its sides), you'd have a light tight box with quite some space.
Would any /diy/ people here like to brainstorm on how to build one? The possibilities would be very great, essentially building a MF digital camera for not too much money, with ready access to great lenses.
Thoughts?
>>2901978
>Thoughts?
I think you haven't done even a single google search.
>>2901979
I have though. What are you aiming at? Bronica digital backs do not exist as such. There are adaptors, but they're expensive themselves and still wouldn't help the problem of existing backs being very expensive.
I have seen people making digital backs for 35mm themselves, so the concept isn't unthinkable. The biggest problem would be to obtain a large enough sensor, or else it would be cropped to a postal stamp
But what am I doing here, youre just here to whine and not to help
>>2902004
it would be cheaper if there were several smaller sensors than a single large one. Would need stitching in camera. There are also digital backs for large format.
I've never been interested in photography before, but recently after finding a new interest in films and the making of them I realized that picking up photography wouldn't hurt, plus it's fun. I'd like to get an old film camera because they're cheaper and aren't too big.
Now, knowing that I'm clueless about these things. What advice could /p/ give me in regards to the film used, brands of cameras to avoid, and just advice in general?
>>2901973
any film slr will work for your purposes. I recommend pentax for cheap lenses. most color film is okay to shoot, various ones have different quirks so I suggest trying a bunch out before you settle on one or another. Kodak tri-x is in my opinion leagues better than other B&W films. Photography is an expensive hobby but can be made less so. Cost per shot with film, assuming someone else is developing and scanning is roughly .50$, obviously depending on a lot of factors. I'd suggest buying a cheap camera like a fuji x10 and see if you like it, or use your phone. Once again I'll say that photography is expensive, film costs stack up quickly, look into developing yourself and dslr scanning to get costs down. Marry lenses and date bodies.Should you choose to go digital at some point, don't underestimate mirorrless cameras. older lenses are as capable as their newer counterparts for most situations. That's all I've got
>>2901977
Thank you for this info. I was wondering if older lenses fit new dslr's. I'll be careful spending my money, and keep all of this in mind. Thanks.
>>2901982
I shoot nikon so I don't know about canon but with higher end dslr's, they can focus older AF lenses and can autoexpose for them. Pentax supposedly has good support for older lenses but I have no knowledge or experience with it
