I'm going to kick off the thread by asking one more time if anyone has used a Canon Pro 1 before, and if they have any advice before I dive in and start fucking shit up? Bought it last week, still haven't plugged it in. It is in situ though, and I bought my first small pack of paper yesterday. Ilford 'Galerie Prestige' 310GSM Smooth Pearl in A4.

I'll probably be breaking it in by printing some cheesy wedding photos I took in the last few weeks.
Shot something like 20 rolls for one and 12 for the other. Only have a handful of 120 colour negs still to dev, but a buttload of scanning to get through.

Astro and night photography.
Hi there, /p/. The 2016 4chan Summer Cup is well underway and /p/ is making a grand show on the pitch. I'm sorry I didn't get to posting a thread earlier, but I have been absolutely swamped with school lately.
At the moment, we are sitting on one win and one loss in the group stages against /f/ and /r9k/, respectively. Both matches were wild rides and I highly recommend you check out the replays (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLID-OwjTLx67bcj5psi_OM-Acz3_oVxnK).We square off against /s/ on Sunday morning (approximately 11.30 MST/17.30 UTC). Follow the Hitbox link on implyingrigged.info for the stream.
I have some virtual sports photography to share from the last two matches. Here we see a few of the star players on the team celebrating Gearfag's third goal in the match against /r9k/. He is surrounded by Bokeh, Ken Rockwell, Resize Your Shit, and Crush the Blacks.

Is photographing other people's architecture really a form of art?
My friend was recently arguing that an architects work is made exaclty to look as it is from every angle. Therefore, you photographing it isn't art because you are merely capturing what the artist created.
Thoughts on this?
It is seems to lie at the top of a slippery slope of definitons of art.

there is good and bad art. this is bad art.
OP here again. I forgot to mention that my friend says you can be sued for publishing a photo of recognizable architecture. Also you can be sued for publishing photos of someone elses' graffiti (The city of montreal is currently suing shuttershock for exactly this)
>>2901019
I'm not gonna comment on the whole "is this art?" thing for obvious reasons, but I'll tell you that if architects did not have photography to showcase their work they wouldn't have any work. Also, photographs taken of architecture often exaggerate or accentuate features in favor of the architect's work, which is why architects rely on photography to show it.
Personally i don't think someone taking photos of architecture should be necessarily proud of their "work", but it should be realized the importance of photography to architecture, especially in modern times.
Pic related, the human eye doesn't render reality like this.

Hey there /p/,
I am new to film photography and I'm already in love with it. I have a couple questions....one is on the first 5 pictures or so of my first roll of film I have these aberrations that occur randomly on the film. My guess is that I accidentally exposed light to the film somehow? There are these random pink streaks on the film. See the picture uploaded. Later in the roll the film is exposed normally.
Second question is how do people photograph and invert their film digitally to lightroom or photoshop?

Yeah, that's likely just from loading. If you ever watch video of pros who shot things like sports on film, you'd see them burn the first few shots to make sure they don't end up with an awesome image that's fucked by a partial exposure.
As for your final question, check out the film general.
>>2910150
Yeah as the other anon said that's from loading the film and then winding the film with the back open. It looks like you've wound it quite far on with the back open (that's shot 7).
Load it, slot the leader in, wind it once. If it loads properly close the back and you're good to go.
>>2910169
well, that was probably the fifth shot or so that I took...so the light must have crept in from the reel. I suppose this will come with experience. I was unsure with that roll if the camera was loading properly so I was paranoid for the most part.

This a slow board?
>>2910025
Are there any good cameras that are also video compatible with said aesthetic? As for the Xiaomi Yi, is it better than generic Cannons?
I've got these Nikon 55-300 mm lens (pic related).
Problem is, these are made for a DX DSLR, and I recently swapped out for a newer FX.
Sure the camera is able to crop out and adjust to the DX lens, but in my opinion, it seems like I'm not using the full capability of the sensor.
I'd hate to buy new lens and I was wondering, are there are any special adapters that could enlarge it to FX?

Pretty obvious one but overused HDR really kills me. Not just the hilariously blatant and terrible stuff with halos around everything. There's also a lot of stuff out there that uses it as a crutch and it makes the photographs look really garish in my opinion.
For example, I saw a ton of people on reddit raving about Tom Anderson (guy who made myspace) being a "great" photographer now and all his pictures are really overprocessed and unnatural looking.
Here's his instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/myspacetom/?hl=en
I mean I literally didn't see a single person on reddit saying something other than how amazing these photos are. It irked me pretty bad.
>>2909479
majority of his photos are very good
at least he is good at HDR, would rather see his stuff than some of the awful shit amateurs churn out
I would like to introduce myself to glitch art (here, pixel drifting), and use it on my photos. I'm looking for a good software to do so, but can't find any.
I found one here : http://pixeldrifter.tumblr.com/ but it's hella limited (10$ to get the full edition, just go fuck yourself), and I couldn't find the cracked version.
Can anyone help me here ?
Also, glitch photos thread, maybe(don't know if it's really a thing on this board)

Not much on pixel drifting there.
Anyway with softwares it's way more simple, and faster (and do more, as well). Maybe you control a bit less the result (not even sure of that), but it's not important to me.
Still need a software, if anyone know one.
