At the very least put a reflector in front of her if you're going to shoot her in open shade like that.

Also, cool off the shadows on her. I suspect you turned the general wb up because you wanted a warmer feel, but she's in open shadow so she should be a bit cooler (like actually select her and lower wb a little, enough to make her skin not sherbert orange).

I really think one of the things you need to work on in general is your post processing. The kind of looks you seem to really be going for aren't done completely in camera. Check out the channel phlearn for some really handy tutorials.

With what you're talking about it's mostly what you can get there. No point in destroying your stuff just to practice. Yongnous are one of the best choices for budget lighting in general though.

Part of the problem now is that there's really a bunch of places you need to improve and each one is just as valid/important as the next. That isn't to say you're terrible, you're just learning. So what you need to do for a bit is focused practice. Isolate variables and figure out how to use them. Get that one variable down, then move on to the next. Fold it in with what you've learned. Then the next...so on and so forth. Trying to work on three or four things at once just isn't all that efficient. Back up a little, get the fundamentals down, then go after this kind of thing.

The foliage in all 3 of these shots have different colors, the last 2 are more subtle but it's still present. Biggest change is from the first picture where the foliage is yellow and orangeish which then turns into green.
Her skin also changes from >>2902706 to >>2902707 and to be quite honest with you, you did a pretty terrible job editing the color of her skin. I think you edited the shot overall and forgot to adjust her skin after
Adjusting whatever you had done to the scene which is a big nono, you always have to go back edit the skin. If you did go back and edit it, well then you should go back and edit it again because it's not there yet.

Continuing with the skin editing, part of her skin is whiteish, other parts are yellow and then in the darkers areas it goes pretty red. Were you by any chance spanking her?
I know most people that start out want to keep skin "natural irl color" but there is nothing wrong with evening out her skin tone and making sure she doesn't have 3 different shades of it.
It's important to remember as well that IRL portrayal is much different than in photos and even then cameras fuck up color all the time, I mean that's the whole reason we edit right?

Another example of bad placement, her head literally blends into the rock. If you had placed her in front of the darker rock, you would have a MUCH better contrast and separation of subject due to color difference.
This hair blending in with other highlights also happens in the earlier B&W photos as well.

oh yeeah and FUCK that foliage in thr background, youre totally right, that shit was a fucking hard workaround i never saw coming until i uploaded the pics to my computer.

on all the color changes, to be honest, i didnt even know there was a color shift in her skin and the foliage until you pointed it out. I had just spent about 2 days straight staring at those photos and editing to a couple of Tool albums, so they all blended together real well, i completely thought they were all the same tone. Ill make sure to not do that next time

I mean really, you want to see terrible? Go on Model Mayhem and search any flyover state like Kansas. There's glimmers of figuring shit out with this kid. There's hope for him. You can see there is intent and thought, not necessarily anything high level, but it's clear what he was trying to do. That's not terrible to me. My advice is to investigate what kind of poses help enhance your model's beauty or hide her not so desirable features like the chin in your girl's case, smiles and whatnot.
You know the other stuff that anons pointed out, work on composition, lighting etc. I know what is like to live with horrible hard light but make the best of it.

OP, every other anon is telling you they like this photo best...it's because it's the first one where we can actually see her eyes. She has pretty light-colored eyes, I always try to nail the eyes in focus.

Don't get so caught up in trying to show the scenery in each shot. As long as it's not taking away from the image, no one cares about it. You can always shoot a few without the subject as establishing shots.

A good tip is to have a good workflow. First you work on the background, once that's done you start editing the skin (while remembering to erase any changes that happen to the background).
Once that's done, you start clearing up mistaken from the skin like acne/imperfections and whatever. You should also try to look at a white picture or just get up and walk around the house for like 30 seconds
And then come back to the picture for a fresh look. You could also rotate the picture horizontally or even vertically, PhotoshopR used to do that all the time because it shows you a new perspective and you might see
Something you didn't see before. Anyways, all of this is just practice and you're already doing that so keep it up. PRO TIP: Go to Image>Adjustments>Selective color and fuck around with the different sliders. You're welcome <3

okay, that makes sense now. If I were you, I'd go full opposite of landscapes and learn HEADSHOT portrait photography until you master it. Your models will appreciate it.
Friendly suggestion: if you do decide to study portraits and headshots, don't let yourself get discouraged by all of the expensive equipment the pros use.
Start with a speedlite. Yougnuo is great, like everyone's already told you. For about $300, you can buy three YN 560IVs, plus a YN560-TX radio transmitter, plus a 5-in-1 reflector kit, plus a couple of umbrellas (bigger is better).
I don't buy fancy light stands, I use $20 tripods for light stands. With a power drill and two fishhook screws, you can add an umbrella mount - pic related.

Also, Selective color (and color balance) is my favorite tool in photoshop, it helps me so much with my landscapes, i just never thought you could use it really effectively with human skin tones. Maybe i should try using selective color on the background, and then select her skin and use color balance to get everything right, thanks again dude.

Right, you can always paint an adjustment layer over the subject to correct white balance without affecting the background. Also a good way to dodge/burn
