Why hasn't the military ever tried doing an LS swap on their aircraft? A twin turbo LS3 small-block should put out more power than whatever they currently use on their old F16s or something

Better question: why has nobody done a turbine engine swap to a road vehicle? Dem HPs.

Because gunships often travel with tanks, it makes logistics sense to have them use a common fuel. Thus, the Abrams tanks went to turbines which could suck the same fuel the helicopters used.

>temp gauge skyrockets, oil pressure gauge drops like a rock
>white steam pouring out from under hood

>won't crank at all
>firebird is kill

How fucked am I? I'm pretty sure it's head gaskets and the cars fucked, but my dad seems to think it may be a failed thermostat or water pump. It was dark and we haven't checked the oil yet or pulled plugs because I work early tomorrow, but based on these symptoms what do u guys think? I'm a pessimist so I think the heads blew and the car is scrap now. Shame is it had ran fine for 12k since I bought it and had 92k miles total, I was about to try to trade to a fellow /o/tist for a Honda

Sounds like it overheated ad seized up. Try putting a wrench on the crank pulley nut and see if you can spin the engine.

The crazy thing is it happened all at once, all the gauges were reading normal and then just suddenly putt-putt-putt-putt engine dies, look at gauges and physically watch temp shoot up and oil pressure dropped down. When I pulled over the coolant reservoir was literally bubbling over and hissing spraying pressurised coolant all over the place (from the non pressurized reservoir tank) I'm very limited mechanically but my understanding is that failed gaskets could allow pressurized and hot oil to seep into my cold 13lb coolant system causing a temp spike and pressurising the return line to the reservoir accounting for the boiling and hissing of high pressure and heat, as well as the sudden drop in oil pressure since it all escaped to the coolant passageways? Didn't get a good look because steaming coolant vapors but my reservoir looked way murky,

No-car bus cucks. People who drive commuters and sneer at other cars.

Miata drivers might like dick but they're content with staring at their feet and muttering something about "c...corners bro" if you ask if it's a fast car.

I finally got in contact with the family friend that had my grandfather's 1955 Ford F-100 stored in his shed. I really don't want to get rid of it but I don't have the means to fix it up myself, and my dad who was going to fix it up is currently in prison. The guy storing it would like to get rid of it because he can't store it anymore, but we can't have it at my house.

What should I do with it? If I had the skills I'd gladly restore it, but as it stands I have minimal mechanic skills and even less money.

Dude old ferd trucks are the easiest thing to restore and make run. All you need is a basic toolkit.

Why can't you store it at your house?
>>
If that's the fuckin truck, find space for that fucker or rent a storage space for it and store it properly until you have the means to revive it

If it's some rusted out shitheap you could use it as a lawn ornament or sell it to a boomer, no real use letting it waste away because muh grandpas truck

Why is it that in newer csrs (2000+) you cant drive with opened windows? I mean even at lower speeds like 40kmh the wind isso unbearable as it starts to pulsate and WOBWOBWOWOB your head out.
In all my older cars i can do 150kmh without that effect

I disagree

drove with the windows down on the freeway today going 90mph (~145 bongs an hour) with the windows down and I didn't start crying like you.

So I have the chance to buy this early 80s F100 in good shape for basically nothing. How hard is it to find an affordable bed for these? I believe it was originally the SWB stepside, which makes my penis hard.

tl;rd:

Thoughts? Daily driver anywhere from the next 2 months to the next year to whenever it breaks down, if it turns out to be a good rig.

longer:
I totalled my car a few weeks ago (someone blew a tire ahead of me and caused a multi-car pileup) and need a new rig pronto.

The issue is I'm (probably?) moving in the next couple of months and need a new vehicle to get to work. I haven't decided if I'd like to buy a cheaper car that will 'just do' until I move (or at least figure out where I'm going), or get a more expensive car (as if ~$8000 is expensive) that I'll enjoy more and take care of.

The beneift of a cheaper car is that I could easily tell it at a loss and buy something more situated for my driving environment. Plus, I'm not sure of the climate of where I'm going yet.

The benefit of meeting in the middle (~$4000) is that I can get something to last the winter and then trade up in spring. Picture related.

Buy a civic for 3k.

>>
>>15815750
I could do that as a very temporary solution, but I wouldn't want to ride the winter with it. There's a reasonable chance I'll end up somewhere with snow, and I like me some snow.
