Retardation or enough money to burn without caring that it's going to fall apart within 4 years.
This Discovery is still kind of cool though. Still BOF and capable of offroading.

Why not buy a Merc G instead?
How do you work on your car if you have no place to go with a garage?
Tfw apartment fag
>>15803474
There's places where you pay a fee to use their ish
>>15803474
I was apartment fag for 5 years. Really just got lucky and happened to take a night class at a local tech school where I befriended a guy that owns his own repair shop. Let me work on my vehicles and did repairs at a great cost when it was something beyond my capabilities. Would even sell me parts at his cost. Kind of an odd critter, but really nice guy. It's not like everyone can just go out and buddy up with a full blown mechanic that has a shop though, so your best bet is to make friends with an average joe shade-tree mechanic that has a garage space and maybe some specialty tools.

>>15803404
how much do you think the GTR, supra, nsx cost brand new?
adjust that shit for inflation nigga
>>15803410
People in the 90s generally had more disposable income than they do now, so adjusting for inflation is not a fair representation of relative "cost"
>>15803445
you'll still find they were not cheap like the 86.
quality cars cost money to make.
obviously not ferrari tier where you pay 100k for a badge, but the raw materials and labor are fucking somewhat costly, even with automation.
No hate, but WHAT THE FUCK.
Is it true you have sim cards in your car? Why the fuck does your car's transmission, steering and braking need to be connected to the internet?
What rational reason is there for this and who the fuck thought it would be a good idea?
https://www.wired.com/2015/07/hackers-remotely-kill-jeep-highway/
I don't mean to fearmonger, but the only safe system is one NOT connected to the internet, as has been proven time and time again.
So who the fuck thought connecting your cars to the internet was a good idea?
Was it the government mandating this, or just carmaker stupidity? Please share some background.
>>15803380
>hurr durr it's only americans
think again nigger
>>15803380
Europoors are doing the same thing. Its just carmaker stupidity combined with consumer stupidity. The point of the simcard is so that you can make your car a wifi hotspot, but you can do that anyway with your phone, and its cheaper.

Yes, the drivetrain is innovative, but I think the suspension is the real story. It launches and corners hard. But, I feel the interior is recent-Chevy tier.

Piece of shit Chevys still go for 30-40k. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the Cruze diesel model on the doorstep of 50k.
That coupled with the advanced tech in Teslas make the price point agreeable. Tesla's only serious problem is with their inability to deliver on time. Maybe the memefactory will fix that.

I have to question the effect of the M3 on the current S and X sales/resale values. If you get the same tech in a slightly smaller package, why bother with the s or X?

Alright guys my 1995 Toyota camry is giving me hell. the other day it started to run rough and lose power when I applied the pedal. I was able to get it started (barely) and get just a little ways down the road before it would die again. When I go to start it now it will do one of three things
-not start
-start and run very rough below 500 rpm for just a few seconds and die
-start normally, begin to idle and almost instantly start to lose power
ALso applying any sort of throttle will kill the engine quickly. That said, it will also not start with throttle applied at all. Things I've checked/replaced
-fuel pump
-fuel filter
-mass airflow sensor
-cleaned throttle body
NO matter what, it still does the same shit, so I'm guessing electronic. Anybody have any idea? Also computer won't let me upload my car so have this cabinet
>>15802657
Vacuum leaks? Especially between the airflow sensor and throttle. Often they are connected by a big hose that cracks overtime. Or try tightening the clamps a slight bit more.
>>15802657
dizzy cap and or rotor, also check the throttle position sensor.
>>15802671
COuld that affect idle though? Or I don't see how that could explain the issue with applying throttle killing the car
>go to charity car meet

>say it's 10 bucks to show off his old fart can
>he looks in his wallet, gives 2 bucks to the girl I'm working with
>we say it's 10 dollars, not 2
>"rest of my bills are too big for you"
>he had like a 50 and two 20s

Most auto enthusiasts enjoy modifying their vehicles. I'm no exception.
Today I finished up my Stage 2 mods, and did the flash from Cobb Tuning. Feels good man. Next up is installing my Koni FSD shocks with H&R Lowering Springs.
ITT post your car and what mods you've done.

3 inch turboback and an intake. Cobb stage two +intake flash till I can find where I'm gonna get a protune.
Needs a 12 in the trunk cause the stock speakers can't hit any lows. Also looking into coilovers for a 1 inch drop. But not sure I wanna lower it since it scrapes sometimes at stock height in the city.
>>15802309
For what your're gonna pay for konis + springs, go coilovers.
