Discuss KIA cars
the korean Dacia, except Kia is actually trying which makes it pretty sad.
14 forte 5.
It's ok to drive to work every day and carry my shit around on the weekends.
It misses the hot hatch mark by a bit. I think the 2.0 turbo instead of the 1.6 turbo, better gearing and suspension would get it there...but then it would cost more also.
Vicious cycle.
Drove a Kia Ceed and I really liked it. It's not the most fun car to drive around, but it gets the job done and doesn't cause too much trouble. I like the design and that the cars are afordable. The car felt a little cheap inside, but there are worse cars around.
One of these prototypes had been parking at my apartment complex several nights a week all summer long. Turns out it was driven by a college intern who was tasked with gathering data for cold start engine calibration. The only thing i did as a summer intern was clean stuff and surf the internet. What a lucky bastard.
>thought it was just a cheap ass replica
>spot the carbon brakes and hueg callipers
Well fuck

Should have left a note, "nice parking faggot"

Can you ask him what the deal with those flared tail pipes is? I saw them on a fleet of dodges heading into the mountains for testing on i70 in Denver last year. Every car had them.
So i'm looking around for a used car and i'm pretty new to this. I did some research on what i wanted but one thing i don't know a lot about is haggling for a car sale.
So how have you guys haggled down the price at a private sale or dealership? What kind of dealer shennanigans & tactics should i be wary about?
How do i make sure i'm getting a good deal on my end?
So no one here's ever haggled a car? I knew you fuckers were low on social skills but damn.
>>15831817
Mention other cars at other dealers with printed copies, ask to speak with sales manager if salesman does not budge on price. Go in with a nice downpayment to show you are serious, walk away if you must. They will call back, now leave and never return
I fucking hate haggling. Just give me a flat fucking price.
>it's fat, they said
>it's ugly, they said

It's ugly for sure. Looks like a wagon/van/focus/subaru hybrid.
I know this is a shit thread thats been made before but Im bored
It looks exactly like its fat and ugly

What is the least safest car you've ever driven?
>>15831269
1st gen suzuki alto in Afghanistan. You could feel the bulhkead flexing massively as it went over the slightest bump in the ground. I'd hate to think how it would do in a crash
AW11
>snap overmeme
>no airbags
>tiny af
Probably my turbo SW20. Gen 1 with original suspension geometry, original brakes, but gen 3 motor making 230WHP. And I'd only had my license for 4 months
>actually use a truck for work
>would like a new one with warranty and to limit chance of a breakdown
>need 4x4 as I drive onto job sites in the middle of nowhere, sometimes very muddy
>don't need something large, but would like it to be comfortable (leather because mud and water and shit would ruin cloth. Electric locks. Bed liner etc.)
>need some towing power for personal times (car trailer for raze car and boat trailer)
>price out all the trucks from f150, ram, titan, sierra 1500, canyon etc.
>after basic options and 4x4
>they are all over $40k
>many over $50k
The canyon was cheapest (and smallest). With the diesel in 4x4 it is just over $40k. I COULD get the v6 with no options for $35,000. Add on any options (JUST getting leather makes you get the SLT version for $39k) it quickly gets to $40k. The f150 just has a retarded amount of options, but it would basically run $42k for the cheapest on that meets my needs.
This is basically just a rant. Why the FUCK have trucks gotten so expensive. I mean sure, you can get a shitty 2wd, with cloth, no back seat, and no options for $28k. And in 5 years it will be worth $5k. To get a middle of the road truck cost $40k fucking dollars. It's insane. The higher end trucks are over $60k!
Maybe the remodeled Nissan frontier will fill the need. The current one is hot garbage. 3/10 would not buy.
How is is garbage? Powertrain/frame issues?
Frankly Ford should have put the last model Ranger on fleet status so we could still pick those workhorses up.
>>15831231
The engine is shit in the nissan. And the interior is 1994 quality. I have driven a dozen of them and my uncle (who lives like 5 miles away) has one. They suck. I LOVE the Titan (not so much the massive chrome) and was considering getting a pre XD one used. They are pretty bullet proof. I was just wanting something new/or new and immediately returned used.
>>15831223
lol faggot. here's what you actually need.
Alright /o/ so I was wondering if there are any cheap or easy things to do to make my car sound better/cooler/not gay. The car has a turbo so exhaust whistles are pointless. So is there anything for me /o/?
Also I should note I love cars but have no idea how to work on them, but want to learn.

>>15830788
I literally cannot stand the chink-like face on this car. It looks like a 8yr old throwing a temper tantrum
Will people hate me if I buy Dodge Challenger SXT?
I love the looks and I don't really care about the specs, so paying $20k-$40k more for a horsepower bump, I'm probably not gonna even use, seems pointless to me.
But it feels weird, buying a "muscle car" when mom in a minivan could probably overtake me in a race.
What do you think about buying low-end muscle cars? Is it not worth it? I'll use it mostly for moving around city, so I don't need big trunk or seat 4 people comfortably.
Not worth it. Buy a civic
Have you ever driven one? It's awful without those extra horses.
>>15830407
You could buy the sxt and swap a 572 hemi in int for less than an srt
What country was this photo taken in?
I see a Ford Falcon UTE so my closest guess would be Australia but i don't think Australia is that green so my other guess would be New Zealand.
>>15830175
But they are american cars
>>15830238
speed limit sign is in kilometers so not america
Europe doesn't have big cars like that so it has to be Australia or new Zealand.
Looks like it could be maybe brazil or somewhere in south america too
Hey guys, I know nothing about cars, and I want to buy a family car. Something like Dodge Grand Caravan size-wise.
What would be a good choice? Safety is priority for me. Budget is around $60k.

Are KIAs safe? I always took them for "that cheap shitty korean car".
If you drive a manual diesel, do you release the clutch fully after the gear change before you use the gas again?
I was driving such a car of my friend yesterday and i was not able to change from 2-3, 3-4 without having a little jerk when having using the gas again.
I know that i have to use a bit more gas when setting the car into motion when its a diesel, other than that im clueless.
Thanks br/o/'s
>>15829568
Your drive it like you do a petrol ffs. As you are taking your foot of the clutch, you are pressing the accelerator.
>>15829568
It's all about timing. When you git gud, you will be able to time it so you are giving it throttle just as the clutch is starting to bite again.
>>15829577
Oh i thought that wasn't good for the clutch somehow.. i should release it fully before using the accelerator.
Nevermind mind then, thanks and greetings from /k/
