Britain has once again proven how cucked they are by banning knives of "No specific style but very ornate and intended to shock". The ban is under the guise that gangs carry them specifically by name. Even though this ban is completely uninforcable, it's one more way the police can strip you of your rights and throw you in jail if your knife looks scary enough, apparently.

Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat leader in the London Assembly, said:

“The sale of so called zombie and long-bladed knives has no practical purpose other than the pursuit of violence. A complete prohibition on their sale could not come sooner.”

Here's what a liberal sauce has to say about it:

So, um- Dear lord this was unexpected
Just minding my business cleaning the house, pretty plain day, when one of my father's friends who works for janitorial services at schools came by and handed me a ton of ALICE gear and a nearly complete ALICE belt rig and said it's for me to keep. Considering the fact that each individual piece of this gear in our town goes for $5 and that I got it for free is more than enough to get me in a chipper mood.
>But wait there's more!
Suddenly my slightly off his rocker neighbor came by, and saw all the military gear I was sorting through and started talking to me about when he was a kid with his friends going through the swamps with bb guns taking days hunting each other down. I had been chatting with him for a while now at this point.
>Hey anon I got something for you. I have a bunch of old military gear I don't need back at my house if you want we can head over there and you can take it.
Sorta cautious so I take my dog, my phone, and a knife with me just in case and head over to his house ten feet away.
>Oh my God he wasn't kidding
He comes out with a full ALICE medkit and a new wet towel pack in one of those desert colored square shaped canteen pouches.
He knows me very well as one of the best gun nuts he knows, as I've taken apart many types of firearms and have researched and found information on every single one of them, usually finding something interesting or unusual about each one. Because of this he tells me about a gun his uncle used at Juno on D-Day to kill seven Nazis and that he wanted to show me it. A minute later he comes out with a gun case and inside it is a Springfield 1903 that was COMPLETELY untouched since WWII, and right next to it was- and I'm not even joking on this- an ORIGINAL 1861 Colt single action, complete with a burlap strip that said "COLT 1861, NEW YORK" and some other stuff.
>My face at this point

What AR-type rifle should I get as an all-purpose gun? I'd be using it for home defense, hog hunting, training courses, SHTF, and as a range toy. Right now I've narrowed down to either an 11.5" 5.56, 16" 5.56, and a 9" in .300 AAC (pic related).

Get a 16 inch. Accurate out to some serious yardage, easily maneuverable in a CQB environment, and shortest legal length without getting an SBR.

Have submachine guns become obsolete, or do they still have a role?
86 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
>Obsolete
For the most part, yes. Their role on the battlefield has been completely supplanted, and in most other applications an SBR will do the job better. Note I said "most", as there are still a few situations in which an SMG will truly excel at. Not many, though.

A Carrier Strike Group is worth like $30-40 billion easy.

A cruise missile costs $1 million. If you spent a billion dollars on cruise missiles, that is 1000 cruise missiles.

There is no way that a CSG can defend itself against 1000 cruise missiles. It just can't.
150 posts and 17 images submitted.
>>
Cruise missiles don't launch themselves.
>>
>>31073304

Maybe not now, but just wait until the Gerald Ford gets the laser installed.
>>
>>31073304
Have you also factored in the cost of the launch systems (you'll need a lot if you actually want to saturate them) and the ISR assets you'll need if you want to track that group in real-time so you can feed guidance updates to the missiles in flight? Or the ships and fighters that will have to protect those ISR assets while they do their job? And that's not counting the logistics you'd need if we don't assume that a CSG will sail right into range of everything.

Okay, /k/. My friend and I were arguing about pistols. His argument was that glock compact and sub-compact are worthless because the slide clips are unreliable on gen 4's, and all of the pistols that are not full size are "unreliable"
Any merit to this?

but that can't be the case because that would be retarded

not that your friend isn't an idiot anyway. he's probably just limp-wristing the pistols because they're small and blaming it on the design.

hey /k/
/tv/ here
I know a lot of you guys are military and do the thing, so I'm wondering... Do you really call out RPGs as critical targets when in combat? It happens a lot in tv and movies, and when WW3 happens and I get drafted, I don't want to make a fool of myself acting like Bradley Cooper.

So, calling out RPGs, is that really a thing? '

in exchange for your time I humbly offer a picture of my waifu. pls no bully.

>>
You call out distance and direction for every weapon system or enemy you can identify.

>"Machinegun, 200 meters north"
>"Sniper, 150 meters, south"

etc.

"RPG" is a good shorthand for any kind of shoulder fired or even underbarrel individual weapon. So, it's often called out when it's not technically correct, but it gets the general idea across in the moment.
