/k/omrades, new to CC here. Could you help me with choosing a holster?
Conditions are rather problematic, since I would carry primarily in vehicles, all day long, in and out of them. Tropical environment, hot and humid, means an undershirt and a loose-ish fitting untucked collared shirt. Tall and very lean build. Finally, in this particular third world shithole I'm working in concealment trumps everything else, draw speed and safety be damned (there are no ranges here so pissing off RO's with crossdraw is not an issue). Firearms are worth their weight in gold here so printing bad is not an option. Also, if it helps, I've been told I'll be getting a P228.
Anyone else carry primarily in vehicles?
>tl;dr talk me out of a shoulder holster
>>31062896
Is an ankle holster off the table?
>>31062896
go appendix, IWB. It'll minimize printing especially if you wear kinda baggy/flowy clothes over it.
>shoulder holster
nothing says "I'm reaching for a gun" more than going for a gun in a shoulder holster. In appendix it can look like you're about to adjust your shirt
>>31063167
I suppose not, I wear long pants anyway? Can you fit a p228 in an ankle holster though?
>>31063380
Doesn't it get uncomfortable with a double stack pressing on your lower belly all day?
ITT anons try to stop others from wasting their money on shit they don't need.
>>31062878
do not buy into the legion bullshit. Its not the "elite 1% gentleman's club" they try to sell it as, its just a way to get more of your money. its a hedge against market saturation.
Notice that all of the "legion" products/services are in a perpetual state of planning? they will never deliver on anything.
>>31062878
buy it OP. I spent my return on it and all of my gun owning friends that have shot it love the feel of it in their hand and the trigger. My friend bought a M&P 9mm performance center just before I got my Legion and now he's crying that he has to upgrade his trigger.
>feels good man
Talk me out of buying this.
Does gun-based (as opposed to missile-based) AA have any place on a modern battlefield?
>>31062858
No. Most Aircraft fly over 20,000ft
The best altitude for AA is under 10,000 ft.
>>31062858
As a more economic method of dealing with UAV's, only lasers are going to take that roll in the near future.
>>31062858
Useful against helicopters and infantry
What are the best ar15 iron sights? Last thing going on my ar before I shoot it. Optic discussion welcome.
>>31062792
mbus pro
What are you going for? Dedicated irons? BUIS?
Don't support Troy.
And yes ik about com ammo
>>31062683
Buy a new gas plug for $15 and you can shoot whatever common grain of .30-06 your heart desires.
Get one from the CMP if you can, or you'll be paying nearly double the amount. Just grab yourself a gas plug from garandgear and you'll be set.
>>31062683
If that is who i think it is (twin oak,) they don't like shipping your gun in a timely manner.
How do you store valuable guns while on vacation without a gun safe? I'm worried about them being stolen in a house robbery.
>clothing drawers
>in a mattress
>buried under boxes etc.
Pls help
-trigger lock
-gun field-stripped, and parts separated
I like to put handguns in random coat pockets which are hanging in the closet. Also I have a unique sink in a bathroom connected to the bedroom, makes for another good stash spot.
>>31062695
this.
Before I had a gun safe, I'd take all the bolts and any other parts i could take off of rifles and put them in a box and leave it at a relative's house. If someone was going to steal my gun, they were going to be incomplete.
IOC has put you in charge of revamping Olympic shooting, what do you replace the airshit toys they shoot now with? What events do you add/subtract?
>>31062606
I suppose I'd reinstate centerfire biathlon. Other then that I dunno.
>>31062606
There is already trap and skeet shooting. I don't think that adding more gun sports is really necessary.
>>31062606
>what do you replace the airshit toys they shoot now with?
Airgun target shooting is fine, let it have it's spot.
What events do you add/subtract?
full auto grouping event I guess, that'd be fun to watch.
I'm a cheap fuck and don't want to rent guns. Should I get a ppq or p07?
Steyr M9A1
>>31063241
this or an S9 if you want a smaller frame.
>>31062596
ppq easy choice
What is the best 1911 that isn't custom-tier?
>>31062555
Colt and SA cover pretty much everything you could want in a 1911 as far as quality, features, and function go for a production 1911 and both have "semi-custom" models/lines that go a bit further while still being at a cheap price point.
Past that and you're starting to look at the $2k and well beyond names that are either semi-custom lines or fully custom shops.
>>31062715
Thanks. my price point is $1400 as an absolute maximum but I'd prefer something in the $800-$1000 range ideally. This will be my first 1911 ever and I'm looking to replace what I have already with it.
Are Springfield 1911 made in the US?
>>31062555

Is there a more aesthetically satisfying piece of armor than this?
>>31062420
I thought it was gonna be a shirt made of condoms
>>31062420
Not really, no.
15th Century German Gothic Plate.

Guys, I finally found a tiny review of this shit.
http://www.alloutdoor.com/2016/01/14/oath-expanding-fragmenting-slugs/
I still can't find any actual ballistics tests to look at, though. Any of you guys have any luck?
Also, if you think this is 9mm RIP ammo for some weird reason like the last thread, just kill yourself.
>>31062110
This seems like a really expensive solution to a rather niche problem when other defensive slugs exist and not many uses a box fed shotgun for self defense.
I really want to see this give rise to some double stack mags though, even if they would be retarded expensive.
>>31062110
They're pretty new to the market so you'd have to wait a bit, the concept isn't really a new one though the focus on box magazines is neat
>>31062151
>>31062176
Yeah, maybe we can finally have shotgun shell technology advance beyond the late 1800s.
Dear /k/ how do you handle debating guns with pic related without just giving up and looking lile you lost?
My sister, who is pretry much a communist, just learned that I have guns and told me she was worried that if someone armed broke in my house and i decided to use them, i d be in danger.
She literally believes that me having the means to defend myself is more dangerous than being unarmed againts an armed burglar.
I just ended the conversation saying that i disagreed
How do you deal with this level of illogical thinking ?
They are children who havent grown up. You dont argue with a child, you make them submit to your authority. Your mistake was treating her as an equal.
>>31061969
>How do you deal with this level of illogical thinking
I don't. Fuck them.
>>31061969
Easy
>find 20 nigs
>hire them to break into her place
>laugh as she cries about a 14hr train being ran on her
>finish with "good thing you didn't shoot them, would have been horrible risking your life like that"
MOLLE or ALICE?
ALICE to me has the advantage of being readily available as ex-army surplus for cheap and in good condition but it looks fucking retarded.
>>31061924
HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLE
>>31061924
I like Alice pretty well but Molle is the better choice as far a function but Alice like you said is cheap, available, and in good condition
>>31061989
So MOLLE is also better functionally?
I was reading into it and was under the impression MOLLE generally had the same functionality, just better form, hmm. lemme read some more
I have the cash for MOLLE, and want it in black (EDC and bugout bag, but normies will see them) so didn't want to spring for ALICE stuff.
Was the LR 300 really the next step in evolving the AR and direct impigment designs? Or was it just a gimmick so people could have muh folding stocks?
Sort of, it was very ahead of its time but by modern standards it kind of sucks. ARs with folding stocks are by no means a gimmick, since the lack of folding stock is the weakest element of the AR design, but nobody was going to pay what they were charging and by the time ARs were popular, the LR300 was dead and there were other alternatives.
>>31061978
Sounds good to me. The design is still interesting though. Looks like DI in its form now and the AR design are here to stay for a while.
>>31061923
I really want a God damn folding stock on my AR. Fuck
All we need is a machinist and we can capitalize on these sweet expired patents.
