/k/ whats your opinion on dragon skin body armour? Is it good or bad and what went wrong.
>>31083592
It's good in that it'll stop bullets.
It's bad in that it fucking falls apart in hot weather, cold weather, sitting the back of your car, can't get wet, can't get muddy, can't drop it often.
Fuck this shit, I'm going with AR500 plates and carrier, they do the job and are notably cheaper.
>>31083638
Is it that bad?
>>31084787
They have questionable reliability. That's all you need to know.
Is it at all possible to get an mg42 in america? If not what country would I have to go to?
Yep, it's possible
Very expenisve, and a few hoops to jump through, though.

Am I the only one who thinks that the AR look is kinda boring now? it seems like everything copies the AR design, are their any fresh designs coming out in the future?
The AR is doing to rifles what the IBM PC did to microcomputers. It's boring as fuck, but it's cheap, compatible with everything, easy to clone and expand, and doesn't require any proprietary parts, so it's naturally going to take over the market.

So in a SHTF scenario it's likely that some of us would be going it alone.
However making allies in the midst of disaster is a possibility, so heres my question /k/, how would you arm a SHTF ally? Assume they have little to no knowledge of firearms, but general common sense and are physically capable.
TL;DR Whats an intuitive and forgiving gun to arm normies if needed?
>>31083524
Nugget, AK, SKS, etc. just get them anything the slavs use.
>>31083524
SHTF planning is pure wish fullment wankery.
Any one that seriously plans for one is completely underestimating the durability of our local institutions.
Any fucker that wants to "go it alone" will just get shot by the Local police force plus neighborhood volunteers. if you dont trust your local sherriff and emerancy response personal then you need to fuck off or take of your tinfoil hat.
I know all my neighbors. and you should introduce yourself to all of them.
I will assume a stranger can be trusted. unless they are visibly hostile.
Because i am a GOD DAMN AMERICAN
AND I TRUST AND VALUE MY FELLOW CITZENS
now fuck off back to your murder fantasies and apocolypitic cult and stop the constant wankery about how you are SOOO BADASS and you will like totally survive by murdering people with more melainan that you;.

I've only been using breakfree CLP. Though now I have firearms where oil only isn't appropriate. So what common grease that is at a hardward/auto store is good?
>>31083511
That one is good.
High temperature red grease
Lubriplate 130-A
Superlube
White lithium grease
>>31083548

I miss my cope mint, whatchall dipping/smoking?
kek, I was on Hansen. That place sucks.
Old pic, and I don't tobacco. Just never got into it a guess.
>>31083425
Eww, you dip? Enjoy your #rottinggums and your #stomachcancer.
Ahhh... I love these threads.
Alcohol - Natural Light, because it's the cheap beer that I got used to in college, and it still feels refreshing as hell on a hot summer day. Evan Williams bourbon later maybe.
Tobacco - Kayak Long Cut Straight, because fuck Copenhagen at $6 a can. I'm not trying to impress anybody or I wouldn't be using dip in the first place.
Firearm: S&W model 642 snub .38 with Speer Gold Dot +P HP. Because it rides in a Desantis pocket holster all day and I never have to think about it hanging up on anything or poking me in the ribs/side/crotch. On weekends the Glock 30 in .45 is likely to be open carried while doing work around the farm.
Assuming you only have a knife and not a firearm, is a retarded huge knife actually a better choice to fight with than a small "defensive" knife?
I've been thinking about this after doing some unarmed sparring and watching a lot of those "nobody wins a knife fight" kind of videos. The downside to pulling out a knife is that it gets turned and twisted and ends up slashing both people. Would a big-ass knife be easier to control by the original user and harder to turn against them?
>>31083148
Jim Bowie carried a pretty massive fucking knife. His tactic was basically to go low and disembowel the other poor SOB with a slash to the stomach (people tend to guard their chest and head) then just pull back and let them bleed out.
If you were actually fighting with a knife bigger is better, the same way that having a sword would be better than having a knife.
Really though, you're not Jim Bowie, so if you're carrying a knife practicality and its usefulness as a tool should be your main concern.
>>31083148
a big knife with a small handle and without a guard is best.
>>31083148
>is a retarded huge knife actually a better choice to fight with than a small "defensive" knife?
4" knife < 9" knife < 12" knife < 18" machete < 30" sword < 6' polearm
Generally speaking, bigger is better where melee weapons are concerned. Extra reach is a huge advantage as long as you don't get ridiculous with mass.
People only carry stuff like pic related because of concealability and knife laws.
What's the modern day version of this? I need a inconspicuous way of transporting my rifle to and from the range. I live in a liberal city and I would rather not look like a guy with a rifle case.
You know you can still do that, right?
Visit a secondhand instrument store, pick up some cheap cases, and stuff em with kaizen foam.
>>31083119
>I live in a liberal city and I would rather not look like a guy with a rifle case.+ 0 post omitted.
Why?
If you really want an answer to your question you should tell us what rifle you plan on transporting anyway. You can fold some stocks, you can seperate some uppers and lowers.
Or buy a guitar case and make your own foam. Then sperg out when some QT 3.14 tries to spark a conversation with you about your guitar.
Or don't be a pussy and just carry your fucking gun like a normal person.
Get a soft guitar case with backpack straps. They're strong and intended to carry valuable instruments
Will there ever be a time where gen 3/ gen 4 nods will be cheap and widespread to the point where insurgents and other irregular forces can gain a lot of access to them?
>>31083067
Sure, when 1st world forces are using Gen 5 and 6 NODs as standard issue.
Fighters in the middle east have a fuck ton of Gen 2 and Gen 2+ night vision right now.
Yeah obviously, just not any time soon.
>>31083067
Yes. Obviously. But at that point everyone who matters will be using something much much better.
Okay, so the law in my state is you can open carry at 18 and I saved up some money for a year, about 700, and I've recently turned 19 and will be moving to a town with less than reputable citizens. so I was looking into sidearms, but honestly I have a very small idea of what I'm doing. I've shot before, but nothing too powerful, I've shot a .22, an AR15, and a sig. But since I can open carry I've been trying to find out what side arm would work best for me. And I was wondering if /k/ could help me out. Thanks
>>31083060
pro tip anon
it probably allows you to open carry LONG GUNS
at 18
>>31083060
do you want a striker fired pistol, a hammer fired pistol or a revolver?
>>31083060
revolvers wont jam and are pretty scary looking
>.38 is the most common round
>.357 is like a 38 with more gunpowder and more power
revolvers never jam
cant carry as much ammo as some pistols but pistols jam and need to be cocked before firing
Is there no MN meetup planned for this year? I haven't seen anything posted about it so far and I had a lot of fun at '14 one.
The tripfags who went and trolled a BLM protest and ended up shooting a few pavement apes brought a lot of unwanted attention to MN meetups.
>>31083580
I don't go because I'm on the opposite end of the state and 4hrs driving is more than I really want each way when I already have shooting buddies and backyard ranges.
But that stuff wouldn't deter me if I attended in the past. What are they realistically going to do?
>>31084093
>What are they realistically going to do?
I suspect many of us would prefer not to have pictures, license plates, etc posted to SJW/BLM type forums for harassment. And of course disruptors could show up and claim they were threatened, start disturbances, etc. Basically, 4channers get on the receiving end of things they've done to others.
Anyone else here shoot a bow? Got a Hoyt Ignite 6 months ago and love the sport.

I recently fulfilled my lifelong dream of owning and a bow, so I bought a Bear Montana in 50lbs.
Sadly here in Europe hunting with a bow in considered animal cruelty.
Might come in handy with the immigration problem soon.

What's your fitness routine like? What are your goals? How much to you integrate fitness into tactical training? What unconventional exercise do you do?
***
Been centering my exercises on heavy lifting and rucking for the past two years, going light on extended running. I'm going for strongfat/bearmode/meatcube-mode.
So far I'm at-
> 285 bench 1RM
>435 deadlift 1RM
>355 squat 1RM
>snatch 155 1RM
Still a lot of room to improve before I get where I want for the lifts.
Getting my cardio in via lightweight full body exercises like burpies and various cleans. I went indoor rock climbing a few times recently, and aside from knocking the rust off of some of my rappelling skills, I've found it to be an excellent workout, especially for grip strength.
Rucking innawoods a minimum of once a month with a 50lb ruck. Not going for time, since I'm off the trail, but I make use of the time to practice some land nav basics in a contained environment of a natural park flanked by roads on all sides.
Learning some tae kwon do basics from a friend who was a legit competator and instructor. It's really struck me as a useful martial art with a lot of up close punches and thrown elbows that seem like actual practical moves. Plus, surprisingly tiring.
So, what's up with you, /k/?
Run, do pushups, do situps. God tier exercise plan.
>>31083439

Don't do sit ups. They fuck up your posture. Squats are better.
