Episode 1 being shit and all, one thought occured to me.
About the Gungan army and it's tactics.

Gungans live underwater, so their natural environment is already an increased difficulty for any attacker. In the movies they fight on land, essentially away from their natural environment.

But what about IN their natural environment? If someone were to attack gungans at their home turf, what would happen?
Usually, attackers would need mechanical assistance to mount any offensive. They would need diving gear, life-support, underwater vehicles, blaster weapons etc. etc.

So what do the gungans do? They heavily rely on more or less impenetrable energy fields, forcing their opponents into close quarters combat. And when they do come close, gungans use ion granades and ion bombs. Enemy suddenly finds itself deep underwater, without life support, weapons, or working vehicles.

While the gungans themselves don't need or use any of those. They are still fully battle ready, even if they get hit by ion blasts. Even gungan weapons double as spears etc in case they get too close and are disrupted by ion explosions. Their "vehicles" are biological mounts and still cabable of movement.

This would be especially devastating tactic against any droid-based armies.

Gungans - Annoying, but surprisingly effective underwater fighters.

Then why the fuck did they decide to sally out and face the droids on land?

Serious question, I don't remember.

The kinds of disasters that "require" a humanitarian response are already destabilized regions from the get go.

Are humanitarian missions a waste of man power? Are they waste of combat forces' time? See Black Hawk Down and the current shitstorm happening with Hurricane Matthew.

Damn that is pretty gruesome I always wondered why people recommend bear spray since the thing is still probably going to try maiming someone spraying them.

Honestly incredibly indifferent what gun we use, either way, reports say that should a large WW3 style war break out, we have ammunition for a day's fighting, same with rations: a day's worth.

http://www.popularmechanics.com/space/rockets/a23183/spacex-sniped-rocket/

So, SpaceX's recent rocket blew up. Not normally weapons-related, but apparently the investigation hasn't dug up any likely answers. Musk has announced problems with locating the source of a small bang and a flash erupting from the roof of a United Launch Alliance building. The ULA, mind you, is the organization that has recently lost contracts to SpaceX.

Thus far, ULA has met with SpaceX but has denied them access to their rooftops. The building in question is approximately one mile away.

Is this reasonable, /k/? Could a trained marksman reliably hit a rocket tank from one mile away on his first shot?

Hello /k/, I am considering purchasing a handgun for my home (bad part of Orlando) and am not sure exactly what to get.

I've shot a few weapons in my time but never owned one. I've been thinking about a .38 but am looking for more opinions

ALSO must be reasonably usable by a 130 pound small woman.

>shotgun

This fudd meme needs to die. A shotgun is objectively worse for defense and may be intimidating to a woman. Can she handle it? Sure, but women aren't known for being reasonable.

Time between follow up shots on a shotgun is worse than a pistol or carbine and no, buckshot won't spread to fill a hallway.

Haha! The concern for size is for my wife, she is rather small and dainty and only ever got her to fire my sister's .38

And I plan on carrying, I work at a shop around here and lot's of others carry a weapon here as well considering the area.

My father had a .44 magnum, I really like the feel of that but that's next to impossible to carry (Florida has shit open carry laws)

Alright, /k/, let's assume we've finally done it. We've set up a PMC, had some success, acquired some good hardware, and then proceeded to invade Zimbabwe, depose Mugabe, and re-establish the free Republic of Rhodesia.

The UN decides they don't like this very much, and they start funding rebel groups and sending in "peacekeeper" thugs to take away our freedom.

How do we defend against the onslaught? How do we ensure Rhodesians will continue to have a homeland?

God I would give anything to catch that young girl alone in the woods during a war, as she rushes through the ferns, lost, looking around desperately, tossing her ponytail behind her as she does, her sweet blue eyes locking onto mine as I raise the scope and fire, striking her in the thigh, watching as she falls to the ground, trying to crawl away, dragging her bleeding thing, shreds of her bloodied innocent flesh catching on the vines and leaves on the forest floor. The second shot shatters her elbow, and she loses her gun. The pain drives her to stagger to her feet and she starts limping for cover, but the third shot bursts open her hip and she falls against the tree, her soft thighs scraping against the rough bark as she slides slowly to the ground, blood pouring out of her torn intenstines as she is left to die, crying out in agony, thinking of her little brother and how she will never see him again. She did this for him and now she is paying the ultimate price. Blood soaks through her hair and her hat as it stains her back and soaks through the ammunition packs strapped all over her soft nubile body. Eventually she expires, and within hours her cooling body is covered in hungry flies and maggots that gnaw at her soft blue eyes, dead and pale, tunneling into her flesh to dissolve her muscle and sinew, her body bloating from teh gas build up, rotting away over months, until all that is left are bones and shreds of cloth, and she is part of nature again.

The Nazi war industry was based on: "Let's build this super cool thing that I personally think will be great for winning the war" (führer principle)

It's a different approach to the US thinking along the lines of: "Our analysis has told us that we need ... amount of firepower in the hands of ... men, the budged is ... dollars, oh, we came to the conclusion the money is better spend on something else."

So, if Nazis were in charge of the military today, They'd be the most likely to build Gundams ...
It's not a bad approach if you want to try new concepts and you might come up with an interesting one that works (like the assault rifle),
but in a country with very limited resources it's not ideal if you intend to win a war ...

Considering the current state of flip military (and its immediate threats), what kind of weapon system that they should get?

Personally, I'd like to see these stuff on the list

>Grad MLRS
>Mi-171 medium helicopters
>Mi-35 Attack helicopter
>120mm mortars
>BTR-80 for the marine corps

good for them russian shit is cheap and easy to use and maintain

so when is usa going to liberate them then?
>>
>>31556436
Well have fun with the logistical nightmare considering that basically everything they have is former US gear. As for the stuff on that list, I could see them maybe being able to afford some BTR-80s and heavy mortars.
>>31556852
>So when is usa going to liberate them
If shit gets too out of hand the Flip military may take him out/try something. Wouldn't be the first time its happened.
>>
>>31556880
That probably true if they have 2 weapon system doing the same job, something like having F-18 and mig-29 (like the other guy)

Taking Grad MLRS for example. Since they didn't have a MLRS in the first place, logistic line needed to be establish to maintain the damn thing anyway, and the only thing that the flips would need to worry about the chassis itself (which uses Ural trucks rather than Kia which is the standard for the flips)

They are also looking for replacements for UH-1 and Mi-17 would be perfect for their budget. Afaik the air force had set a ceiling price of around 10 to 15 million dollars for a helicopter and the only military helos that they could buy with that kind of money are either AW-109 or Sokol. During the previous prez' administration the air force went for Sokol helos and it quickly become one of the biggest military scandal in the country

Hi /k/

With increasing crime and insecurity in the country I live in I want a weapon for self-defense. But since i live in Europe getting a firearm is a hard process that i don't have time for. Therefore I think my best option is a powerful pellet gun.

Can /k/ give me some advice on which one i should buy? The more lethal the better

honestly I don't think you can expect any pellet gun to be a man killer, I would just bang together a firearm in your garage and keep some thermite handy to get rid of it once you use it. that or get a machete or an ax?
>>
Pellet gun? Fuck off. Your only options are lube or a suitcase.
