And what do you Slovenians think of it?
>>31556901
I have one and it's great
>>31556901
>Why did it replace the AK?
Because the AK is a dated design and fires a non-NATO cartridge.
>>31556901
>why did it replace the AK
Because the AK fires non-NATO rounds and is an old, outdated design.
>And what do you Slovenians think of it?
Honestly incredibly indifferent what gun we use, either way, reports say that should a large WW3 style war break out, we have ammunition for a day's fighting, same with rations: a day's worth.

>Gun can only eve be chambered for one type of round.

As said, reason for replacement was the cartridge.
Those who I know from the army say they dont really like this gun, somehow unreliable and such stuff. I really dont know why we didnt go with H&K 416 when we were choosing the replacement.
They wanted a Western design and cartridge.

We were forced to get a NATO chambered rifle since we joined the NATO heh
>>31556901
>why did it replace it?
many reasons that all combine into one; your little country being in NATO
one is that as said it isnt NATO chmabered, nor produced, which isnt only a problem for standardisation, but also a problem fro corporations like FN, Browning and others, who need new markets for maximum income, and NATO expansion is the main source of it
>new member joins
>tell them their guns is no good no more
>sell them yours
>profit
also i heard your politicians there always get full pockets with those arms deals and then have affairs and so on.
as for comparison, the F2000 is ofcourse more specops and all, but when it comes to war, especially for a small country, i would always rather pick up a reliable, simple familiar rifle with ammunition you can find anywhere than a newer auto fabulous 2000 gun that would get jammed after a week of hiking trough mud and rain in the forrest while searching for any dead fellow NATO soldiers to scavange their ammo and gun parts.
but as far as i know slovenia isnt really doing shit except for some foregein observing so the F2000 is just good enough for looking hip when patroling in some frozen conglict zone

Should of gone with what the Croatians APS-95s or the Serbian M90
We don't have ammo for FN2000. :-(

Makes me wonder why the Pollacks went through the trouble of creating the Beryl, a 5.56, updated AK, to replace their Tantals.
Why didn't they just get the F2000, the M16, or some other existing design?
>>31559205
Having an still existent arms industry that they would like to keep existing, perhaps?
>>31559230
So you're telling me the Slovenians didn't have a single scrap of the former Yugoslavian arms industry left over that they felt like was worth preserving?
I thought they made M67 out the ass.

Why do you post the same thread day after day
