Why are lever action rifles and single action wheel guns so much nicer than semi-auto?
>>31556810
because both you and I are massive faggots.
What's a good revolver to go with my 1897?
>>31556810
Because they have to make them luxury item, cash in on nostalgia, for anyone to want one
related question: who makes a .357 lever action carbine in stainless steel? marlin used to but doesn't seem to anymore. Winchester? Henrys are nice but out due to loading system
Is my only option a rossi?
>>31556877
Jesus lad with the length of that barrel I'm gonna have to recommend you get a buntline to match it
>>31556937
My dad keeps a Rossi 92 in his truck. I get that people like to shit on Rossi, but I've honestly never had a single problem with it.

S&W Model 10 or anything single action would be historically accurate. If you just want a good revolver in general, pretty much any S&W or Ruger will do.
>>31556937
Been looking for the same and thus far only found Henry. Honestly a well built version in the 500-700 price range would likely do well

>S&W Model 10
I like it. Alot.
>>31556976
It's a little ridiculous.
>>31556987
fair enough. I'm planning on making a matched pair of revolver and carbine in .357 . Rossi also has the advantage in that I found a guy making stock blanks for it. I'd love laminate...but that'll take extra work.
Levergats have the best aesthetics

>I get that people like to shit on Rossi
I had a Rossi 357 revolver and it shit the bed after very little shooting. Shot a round out of it and something came off of it, hitting a friend in the lip.
It wouldn't cycle anymore, hammer wouldn't come back and it was a chore to get the cylinder out so we could get out the other rounds.
This was the second gun I bought when I was a poor fag who thought a Glock 40 was the pinnacle of firearms technology.
I'll never buy Rossi shit ever again.

You can get a Model 13 if you want to be able to shoot .357 out of it

How is yours?
Mine is 109 years old.

No... No, I can't be gay...

Mine will return to it's days of glory!

I have a 16" rossi m92. the finish isn't great but the accuracy and reliability are excellent. I'm kinda glad the finish isn't great because I don't give a flip about it.
All that said, I did need to smooth the action a bit.

That anecdote would be better with a round count and type of use involved. I have a 20rd promag for a Beretta which has been flawless for the 40 rounds I've put through it. Not exactly thunder ranch
>>31556937
Chiappa does some good ones that aren't too bad price-wise
>>31556937
all I want is a .308 lever action that's under 2 grand
preferably that I can purchase in /k/anuckistan
>>31556810
Because they were designed at a time when guns were meant to be weapons, not range toys, a time when preoccupation with unnecessary safety features didn't override the need for quality weapons.

>I had a Rossi 357 revolver
From what I've seen their lever action rifles have always had a better reputation than their revolvers, especially in recent years. Though if that had happened to me I probably wouldn't have much confidence in them either...then again, look at all the people who have been burned by Marlin over the past decade. Miroku's have always been well made, but aside from costing north of a grand the most recent Japanese Winchester incarnations have all kinds of little lawyer parts added - I'm not a traditionalist but they'd certainly do nothing for durability or reliability, and who knows how easy they are to replace. The Italian guns may be finished more nicely than the Rossi's, doesn't necessarily make their metallurgy or reliability better though...matter of fact it's not uncommon to read complaints of jamming and "soft steel" when you research those either.
