First some background info, I used to live in Kingman, AZ, a small desert town in NW AZ that's like a crossroads between Vegas, Phoenix, the Grand Canyon, SoCal and Laughlin. Small town but many types pass thru and some get stuck.
There is a "range" in the hills and washes just south of town. The locals call it Black Bridge, not really a range, just a place in the desert where people goof off and shoot stuff. It's accessed by one of several unmaintained dirt roads, but usually by the Old Tails turnoff (that's the original route 66). I usually would make weekly treks down there and always had at least a pistol for carry since you run into the occasional stray dog, or shady two legged desert dweller...

So there are lots of tweakers, weirdos and misfits in this town. Many homeless people for the size of the area.
There was one old lady in particular who stuck out to me. Gray hair, maybe 60- not social, and I'd see her walking everywhere around town, but also out in the desert, or black bridge area. What made her stick out to me, is EVERY time I passed by her, usually from a distance while I'm alone she would turn her head and slow her pace. I always just kept walking, but every time I would look over my shoulder she was stopped and having a conversation with an imaginary person while pointing me out, and it didn't look like a very happy conversation she was having with herself, but it was obviously about me. I never saw her or heard of her do this with anybody else..
So one overcast day with a slight sprinkle I head down to Black Bridge to introduce my new Sig SP2022 (9mm) to the AZ desert..

Shit thread, OP didn't even finish
>go to local gun store
>prices are ABOVE MSRP
>go to Bud's
>buy guns I never could have afforded otherwise
Why do brick and mortar gun stores constantly Jew the customer down? Do they think we're stupid?
No they're just shit stores.
>>31564220
Some will work with you. My general rule is, if it costs about the same (within $50) of what I'd pay after shipping, transfer, and possibly CC fees, then I'll support a local business. If it's still significantly cheaper online I'll ask "hey, this is a lot cheaper online. You wanna try and come down a bit?" And sometimes they will. Otherwise though, I have a dealer who does transfers for $15. I have no problem going to him if a local shop is too overpriced.
Transfer fees often cancel out a lot of the savings. I don't believe you about stores charging more than msrp
We all need a good laugh once in a while
Too soon, you insensitive Cis-caliber jackass.
Ok I think some of you guys on here need a bit of a reality check when it comes to a SHTF situation.
> I'm gonna bug out and live in the woods.
Unless you already have a dedicated, running, functional bug out location with clean source of water and food beyond "muh huntin" you are going to die.
> I'm going to wander the wastes fallout style.
You will most likely get raped by the marauding gangs and then you are going to die.
> I'm going to go it solo.
Not much of a way to rebuild society if you are alone. You will most likely die.
Face it the only real way to survive a SHTF situation is by doing a few simple things.
> Have a reliable team that you can use to slowly build a well protected community.
> Already have food stockpiled as well as farming already started
> Bug in, for most situations bugging in is the best thing to do even in a city for the initial period before trying to make it to your dedicated bug out location.
> Don't just shoot on sight unless you are absolutely certain it's a hostile threat.
Tell us something we don't already know.

> Don't just shoot on sight unless you are absolutely certain it's a hostile threat
Well those show up red on the sights right?
>>31563887
Well if you try to communicate and they try to pop a shot off, they probably aren't down for a chat. If they lower their weapon and comply with orders chances are they may be friendly.
>>31563881
You say that but give it a minute and you'll see some dumbass arguing how he did boy scouts and so he knows how to perfectly survive in the woods with just his victorinox ranger.
>be me, in para regiment
>1982, get sent to some rocks in the ocean with some sheep on it
>Just as we show up two of our ships are sunk and we keep getting strafed by Argentinan Sky Hawks
>nobody does anything about it
>finally get dropped off by world war 2 landing craft even though I'm a fucking paratrooper
>ordered to walk across open fields towards Goose Green until we take contact lol
>get pinned down by 35mm air burst flak fire and heavy machine guns
>request harrier air support and artillery support
>HQ says no we don't have any lol
>Get word over radio that commanding officer is dead
>suddenly we see all these white flags being thrown up by the Argentinians.
>Welp guess we won lol
How were the British so laughably terrible at war and still won in the Falklands?
>>31563841
Butthurt argie detected. The Brits at the time was at their lowest point in terms of military. They still beat the argees. They fought a battle 5000 km away and still managed to deliver supplies and sustain a campaign. However pale this in comparison to WWI, it was still an impressive feat.
>>31563841
Because the Argentinians were just that bad.
>>31563841
>How were the British so laughably terrible at war and still won in the Falklands?
Because the french would stop sending these nice Exocet missiles to the argies who then realised their only asset was non existent.
Oh they also realised they had no allies and nobody gave two shits about their shit island.

3.50 nigger
bumping because I want to know too
also is there anything about the Luger design that makes it shine performance wise?
>>31563639
Depending on condition, expect anywhere in the ballpark of 700 for a shit shooter grade one to 3500 for a collectors grade wallhanger.
whats the point of the railgun development
why are they spending trillions of dollaroos on somethings shittier than missles fromthe 1960s
>>31563624
can't stop a 200lbs solid tungsten slug going 7,000fps
>>31563624
Much harder to to detect, intercept, and kill.
It's also nice carrying inert metal slugs, instead of hundreds of tons of explosive shells or missiles just begging to detonate in your ship's magazine.

/k/- I fucked up my wasr barrel trying to dremel a muzzle nut off. I'm about to get it cut down and pinned/welded with a new muzzle device.
If you could only have one muzzle brake/hider/comp what would you use?
Things to keep in mind:
- bolton gas block
- need to be able to clean the crown or inside of the device in case of corrosive ammo
- practicality: this is a general purpose rifle
- overall barrel length + muzzle device must be over 16"
pic related (but im going russian plum)

any archers here? looking to get into the sport.
interested in target archery, field archery and 3d archery.
Recurve or compound, either is fine.
Should I pay for archery lessons? all the ones in my area seem to be for little kids
should i just go ahead buy a bow thats properly sized and fitted.
the gun range im currently a member of has a small archery range apart of it, i could use that.
Archery is for fags

You're welcome.
Lets say the USA, Russia, and China teamed up together to conquer the rest of world and divide it amongst themselves.
Who would win?
>>31563138
no nukes? the URC. with nukes? the URC, but its a pyrrhic victory
Well, let's get the part with the nukes out of the way.
The US and Russia both have about 1000 active warheads each. China is good for maybe 300.
On the other side, Britain, France, India, Israel, and Pakistan are all in the 200-300 warhead range.
In conclusion, a lot of people are going to get fucked up.
The US, Russian Federation, and PRC have a majority of the world's ICBMs and nuclear submarines between them, so they should eventually win.
I know who would lose: Africa.
