They're expensive and probably not made of the highest quality material, not blow your hand up bad but probably get slop faster than a Ruger or S&W though on the same token no one probably shoots thier S&Ws much because of recoil anyway.

Pretty much if you are going to be using this on a constant basis I would recommend against it but if you just want to shoot it a couple times a year for shiggles go for it.

Your first piece of advice is to research a shitload. Generic reccomendation is to start with a .22, especially because of cost. You're going to need to shoot a shitload to get any good. I spend thousands a year on ammo and I'm still shit.

The trunnion and bolt on the C39 series are cast metal, causing deformation and eventual catastrophic failure. AKOU has shown pics of two separate KBs on Century RAS47s (which use the same bolt/trunnions) in the past month.

At $1K, you can find an AES-10B or possibly even a kit build. Do that instead.

I liked the grannies in Fury Road that used black powder. Plausible that you'd see some communities making their own ammo and powder; black powder is easy to make, smokeless powder and primers, not so much.

If you assume people still had access to the guns that were in circulation then sheeit, pretty much anything, but they'd be careful with the ammo.

This anon has everything right. Melee weapons would be long knives, some forged after the nukes, maybe a HEMA fag's higher quality sword or two (not the cheap ones that break when you hit something), a lot of axes and a lot of spears and polearms.

Black powder is easier to make and you could expect something like flintlocks and black powder bombs to show up but like anon said percussion I'm more doubtful of. If you search into percusion muskets you might be able to set up a situation where they'd be plausible and you'd get revolvers and more reliable rifles

Well with the Saws we have a toddler with a 9mm could send more hate and discontent downrange than those overused pieces of shit. And I love the m27 everything felt just right about it. But despite everyone telling me the contrary I feels like a better m16/m4 not a replacement for the SAW. And anytime anyone in my unit heard of a magical working SAW everyone would clamor over it and have a blast with it. Its just that so many refuse to work, but when they do they work.

It is a move back to the automatic rifleman in essence. SAWs will still be available as needed. They're very unwieldy indoors, hence the desire for an "LMG" you can clear rooms with.

As the other anon mentioned new and updated SAWs are desperately needed. For the mission right now the M27 makes sense, but that won't always be the case.

That's like saying about MG 3 is a terrible machine gun because the particular one you're using has been raped by conscript for 40 consecutive years of service. Everything that's seen abuse for decades is not going to work right. That doesn't mean the platform itself needs change. Even if they did develop reliable high-capacity mags for the M27, that still doesn't make it an LMG.
