So the Boeing Sikorsky SB-1 Defiant has received its first fuselage at the Boeing Mesa facility for structural and load testing.
This is a pushed prop design helicopter with two counter rotating lift props. The Boeing Sikorsky team are working on a high speed future lift vehicle.
What does /k/ think of the defiant?
It gives me an erection.
>objectively better than the 3 helicopters its replacing.
>>32388611
Looks kinda like a modernized Cheyenne. I like -- but what roles is it intended to fill, and for what services?
>>32388701
I am not entirely sure. Its going to eventually be made into a fully functional testbed as part of the Future Vertical Lift program.

Says its supposed to replace the black hawk, the apache, the Chinook and the kiowa
Is he a douche nozzle, or is he cool?

coolest.

What does that facial hair say about him?

People who use douche nozzle are usually douche nozzles.

What gun does he have /k/?
>>32388236
Chikin gun

fishgun?
I have already forgotten about those things
like a Sig something or another that never gained any popularity?
Chances are an airsoft gun.
Will Germany ever be a world power again?
>>32387967
Not if they keep electing women.
No. Much too small and geographically disadvantages, which is why it lost WWI. Germany was never a serious "world" power any more than Belgium. It was a European continental power which is drastically different.
>>32387967
No.
Our best chance at this point would be becoming neutral like Switzerland, and to avoid any kind of involvement in foreign conflicts.
A used gun store very close to me is liquidating and closing down. It's a buy/sell/trade place. They have Colt Pythons, Makarov's, SKS's, Civil War/WW1/WW2 guns and memorabilia. It starts at 8 AM on Wednesday, so I am staying up and going at like 6 AM and sit outside of the store in my car like a weirdo. I have $900. It's all automatically 50% off and they're obviously going to let me jew them. They're getting rid of fucking everything, filing cabinets and the display cases included. What should I buy? I will be posting results.
>>32387919

enjoy your scam...
>>32387919
One of everything.
>buy 4 colt pythons for 50% off
>sell online
>every additional gun you bought was for free
If I get the rcbs rock chucker kit, plus dies and shell holders, will I have all that I need to begin reloading (already have manuals)? Aside from components of course.
I am planning on picking a WFT for when I need a trimmer but I figured this would be good to get me started learning the basics of hand loading.
Any thoughts on what else I should get?
I'd get a little digital scale, a powder trickler, and something to remove primer pocket crimp like the lyman multi tool... Probably wouldn't hurt to pick up a tumbler either walnut, or wet SS pin media... What do you plan to reload?
>>32387850
also make or buy spray lube if you are doing rifle... the lube pad is a pain in the ass...
>>32387816
the rock chucker is a solid press, and their priming tool is almost as good as the Lee model
analog scales are faster and more accurate than digital ones.
this kist is good, yoiull need the dies for your calibers which will come with a case langth gauge/trimmer guide, and shellholder
get a few extra reloading trays
dont use the powder trickler. they always throw random weights especially in large grain powders. i have one and have never used it after testing it a few dozen times and finding wide variations in dispensed weight
Quikshot case lube is fast, easy and cheap, it's your best friend (use sparingly)
ALWAYS get carbide dies, and ALWAYS get the die set with the factory crimp die
even if you dont want to crimp now, you will soon.
the RCBS autotrimmer is awesome but expensive considering you may discover you hate reloading.
other than that, the RCBS starter kit is great.
Which is better? I'm often conflicted on which gun I should get chambered for either caliber.
>>32387638
Better for what? Babying your hands while you shoot? .32 Theoretically ending a threat by shooting someone? .380
>>32387638
They're honestly pretty damn similar for performance with FMJ out of small guns. I prefer .32ACP because it recoils less allowing faster shots. I've got a weird thing for older larger frame .32s though.
>>32387638
I've always wondered why .32 ACP never caught on in the U.S. when in Europe it's a legendary caliber over there.
How do you guys feel knowing that Aliens takes place hundreds of years in the future, and the marines are wearing baseball caps and using AR-type weapons with ACOGs?
I sure prefer this over the retro-future setting of the previous movies! ;-)
>>32387560
>2121
>hundreds
Are we finally going to get that tank/dropship hybrid Syd Mead designed?
>>32387560
Fuck. That AR isn't even free floated.
What's the point of buying multiples of the same gun? Like why the fuck would you need two 9.mm's or five different .22's? You have one that shoots that cartridge already, why do you need more?
>>32387331
Already have the ammo for it!
>why do you need
Do you understand the concept of a hobby? Why do you call two different guns the same gun just because they fire the same ammunition?
>>32387331
For computers, I have:
Two desktops.
Three monitors.
A server.
A laptop.
A smartphone.
A tablet.
Why the fuck do I need so many different pieces of technology that all basically do the same thing? It's almost as if each item fills a different niche use and I find it beneficial to have something on hand that can accomplish what I need it to do.
So it seems there are three sources for noise in a gun. The explosive expulsion of gases, the sonic boom of a supersonic round and the clanking of the mechanism moving.
This is the only gun and ammo system that seems to seriously address all three sources and it's brilliantly badass, It uses a captive piston cartridge to retain the gases and a subsonic round to stop the boom, the only noise is the clicking of the hammer etc.
Any other good contenders for the title of quiet killer?
A nice example of the ammo and its function.

Nagant revolver with silencer is pretty awesome but you still get the crack of the bullet travelling.
/k/. I really need your help tonight. I was going to make a recent acquisition thread to show off my new rifle and handgun. But I just had to her the rifle to put down my battle buddy. I know you all prefer dogs but she was my baby. I'd had her for thirteen years. She was suffering and I had to. I can't stop crying. I love you Mackinaw.

It's alright OP, your kitter is in a better place now.

Been thinking of ideas for shotgun shells.
What does /k/ think of sodium/potassium slugs/shot?
Potassium/sodium are highly reactive with water
Humans are mostly water (blood, guts, juicy pats, etc)
Once a bit of sodium/potassium enters the targets body the potassium/sodium reacts for explosive results, rendering the target dead/maimed beyond repair.
Before anyone screams "muh human rights" chances are if there's a reason I have to shoot someone I don't want them to live.
This is purely for defense of home/country.
You're a fucking retard, and your idea will harm you.
I suggest you go for it.
>>32387227
Do it. Go hunting to test it on some durr.
My own personal suggestion would be strips of magnesium.
>>32387227
Impractical and unpredictable but if you really want to try and set people on fire when you kill them go ahead, it won't work as well as you think

A meme or the futur ? Redpill me on the Ekranoplan /k/
>>32387202
Bump
>>32387202
I feel like it's a worthy idea in naval warfare, but I can't see it being that useful over land, unless it's a very flat open area, that is unless it's a class 3 ekranoplan which is able to fly above 150m. They could be used a very fast flying tanks maybe, but since we've never seen them sued in combat it's hard to say for sure how well they'd perform.
Postwar Soviets realized they would never be able to amass a landing force in the U.S. and it was more efficient to develop different ships for their maritime borders.
So they have a small baltic fleet, a small north atlantic submarine fleet, a small black sea fleet, and a small pacific fleet. Nothing was needed for the Aral sea since their plan was to drain it entirely, so that leaves the Caspian.
Again, none of their military is to provide overmatch, its to maintain a credible threat, and ability to apply pressure on foreign nations.
To that end, they developed a boat that can quickly send soldiers into Iran again, should the need arise.
I live in NJ, I'm traveling south to a different state. What's the rules about transporting just ammo? I intend to bring my guns separately in a different car. But, ammo by itself is legal to go anywhere if its locked up, right?
>>32387170
It's fine, just make sure to log each serial number on each bullet first.
>>32387192
I know it's a dumb question but most of my searches don't yield a straight answer.
>>32387170
Ammo is fine as long as it's secured (in a box) and in your trunk. Guns can be a bit more tricky and depend on State laws, but generally speaking, if they're in a case in the trunk, they should be OK.
