So /k/, a friend of mine has a restraining order against him from a bitch (soon to be ex) wife.

I read the papers myself and even in the papers she merely states he has guns, nothing about using them on anyone. PD took his firearms and now say he can't posses any for the duration of the CPO.

For one i personally find this a violation of his natural rights, but in any case, what is the 'best' weapon he can """legally""" have while under this disability?

Im thinking a decent compound of some sort. I dont think muzzleoaders count toward the disability (do they? its in Ohio) but even so i wonder is they would be more effective than a compound.

Once this is all over im thinking of buying him an AR lower, but the time is not now.

Has anyone else had to go through this shituation? how'd it work out?

Black powder muzzleloaders (including cap and ball revolvers) are not considered firearms in many states.

Cap and ball revolvers are a great option. A .44 revolver can rival .38 special when loaded with 28 grains of powder, 9mm/.45 ACP with 35-40 grains and come close to .357 mag with 45-50 grains.

1858 remington is probably the most practical choice. Other than that a bow or a crossbow.
>>
>>32393923
I hadnt thought of a cap and ball revolver. as i recall those are pretty affordable, too.

So then i take it smokeless is a no-go?

Probably, I'm not sure though. You would have to check the law.

Hi /k/, Europoor here. I'm going to a state with relatively lax gun laws and l'd like to visit a shooting range.

Do you have any basic tips for someone who has absolutely zero experience handling weapons?

don't point it at anybody
don't point it anywhere but downrange
don't put your finger on the trigger until ready to fire
always be aware what is downrange
don't turn off the safety until you're ready to fire

>1)Using a shotgun rather than a gun or rifle. In his study of gunshot injuries in Mobile Alabama1, Riddick found that of those surviving a firearm suicide attempt, 80% used a handgun, 15% a rifle, and only 5% a shotgun. However, shotguns can be more difficult to aim into the side and back of the head, which are the most fatal points to aim (see below). They do deliver much greater energy at impact though (meaning they can do more damage).

>2)Firing into the head rather than the body. Comparing studies of firearm suicide fatalities2 and non-fatalities3 suggests that there are far fewer survivors with head wounds than chest or abdomen. Aiming into the chest or abdomen and using a hand gun is a worst case combination.

>3)Using a gun that works properly and ammunition that is not old. Sounds obvious, but old ammunition might not reach its proper velocity when fired. A gun not working properly could have a similar effect. Geo Stone4 discusses calibre of gun and type of ammunition at length. He concludes that there is no overwhelming evidence of higher calibre size being more effective, although there is increased possibility that a lower calibre will not penetrate the skull.

Redpill me on them. I can't seem to get a definitive answer from my own research.

What are the Pros and Cons of them?

What does /k/ think of them in General? What about weapons like the AUG?

I hear a lot that the Tavor is poop in comparison with the AUG. I haven't owned either and if I can in the future, I'd like to own an AUG.

Also they are less accurate than conventional magazine fed rifles because reasons. I think specifically its 'cause there's more parts to get the trigger to fire the weapon but I don't know desu.

I have a small stockpile of 7.62x39, and use an AKM clone, but it's not exactly light (fixed wood stock, etc).

what can i do to make it lighter or is there an AK variant that is super light suitable for backpacking?

>>
>>32393091

your only option is a krinkov pistol

anything else is going to cost you a retarded shitload of money

alternatively you could sell the akm to get a one year membership at the gym, get swole as fuck and then go buy an RPK when you're a man
>>
>>32393091
Amd 65 super light feels lighter then other ak I have holded.

AKM-U? But I think they are extremely rare to find and probably expensive.

>New Russian BTR
>Bottom is weirdly shaped and might get problems when climbing rough terrain

Is it just idiocy on the part of Russians or is there a reason for stupid things like these?
I mean who makes U-shaped bottoms? Is it because of the Challenger 2 MBT RPG scenario?

more deflection against mines/IEDs. that shapes not going to slow it down any significant amount to warrent a flat bottom. honestly did you even think about it or are you face fucked on cheap wiskey?

I have a live .22lr stuck inside my suppressor, it appears to be a press fit jobby and not able to be dismantled. Any ideas on how to get it out? Gun is functioning fine but I just dont think its really the go to have one in there.

>be me
>be shooting rabbits
>always rack one into the chamber then top up the magazine
>get back to house, unload mag and unload chamber
>loose .22lr
>dumb idea to sit ontop of suppressor so I can grab it when I go out again
>go out again
>shoot a few rabbits
>feel rattling in the can
facepalm.exe
>can see round in suppressor

I picked this little guy up a few days ago, it's the first spinning gun I've ever owned. Going to take it to the range next week - is there anything I need to know about it or spinning guns in general before I start plinking? It's just in .22LR so I assume the spinning won't get too out of control.

leave one chamber empty or with a used casing and you will be able to find if you have a flinch.
>>
>>32392722
I've been dry firing it and keeping the flinching in check, the only thing that throws me off a bit is when I don't control for the trigger pull and I throw my aim off as I squeeze, but I'm working on it

If you want a J-frame revolver then first decide what hammer style you want and how you want to carry it. I pocket carry a S&W 442 with a covered hammer and love it. If you want to spend a bit more you could pick up an M&P 340 or S&W 640. Ruger has some pretty good offerings too

Nogunz here. After months of hesitation, finally decided to get my concealed weapons license. Have only a basic understanding of weapons due to ex-merc friend who's a bit of a hardass. Only gun I own is this tiny little .25 that jammed once in the range for me. Worked fine when I actually had to take shots at someone, but I want something more reliable. What exactly does /k/ recommend?
