What weapon is best for sailing ships in this day and age for protecting against pirates or rogue navy ships acting unlawfully?

Would a small black powder cannon still suffice?

Modern pirates typically have automatic weaponry, but they tend to use small and fast boats and operate in flotillas of two or more motor boats.

What would you mount on a yacht if you had one and wanted to be secure?

I am going to backpack next year across the country. The journey will take five to six months. I'm going to take a flight to Charleston, South Carolina, then I'm going to walk from there to San Jose. How can I best protect myself?

I currently only own pepper spray, an expandable baton, and a shitty Davis P32 .32 caliber that I get terrible groupings with and it jams a lot. I will also have bear mace with me. What device should I best defend myself with, and which should I take with me and when? I'm bound to run into a few cultists/meth heads at some point as I will be taking a lot of less traveled roads.

Literally every board on this website will be of use to me in this spectacular endeavor. Help me out guys.

I've been looking at either a UTAS or KSG for HD. I like the looks and more compact size of the KSG, but the UTAS doesn't require me to toggle between tubes. Which one do you prefer, /k/, and why?

I really like my KSG. Balance is good, handles 3" and mini shells (11 or 12 in each tube, depending on buck/slug, for mini shells).

I have never fired or handled a UTAS.

the KSG is basically the apex of what it is

If you want to pay more for a bigger, heavier, less reliable gun for the sake of something different that's fine (I'd go for the DP-12 in that case) but for practical use the KSG

Hey fellow /k/ommandos recently I was given a offer of a Springfield xdm 9mm for my Chinese Norinco SKS I was wondering if this is a good deal as im 19 and this will be my first handgun. The handgun comes with two magazines and a open carry holster and id be giving him the rifle with a sling, twenty loaded ten round stripper clips, and a clip pouch due to the condition of the rifles stock. Also I'm only 19 and live in Oklahoma is this private trade legal?

So apparently there is a petition going around to name the next major US NAVY ship, most likely a Zumwalt class destroyer, the "USS THE DEPLORABLES". I was wondering what the rest of/k/ thought about it. What's the best way to prepare for the italian special forces (basically the swat)? The test consists of 5000m in 20 minutes, 100m in 14 seconds, freestyle swimming for 100m, jumping 135cms, long jump of 4m, climbing a smooth rope for 25m without using your legs with little to no rest inbetween.
How do i demolish this test? I have 6 years to prepare and i already do boxing (been doing it for 2 years)

Eat alot of pasta, drink red wine in moderation (Good for the blood), have some salads prepared as sides,and start lifting and working on your body
