How long until the 7.62x54r surplus dries up?
Cheap surplus has already dried up.
>>32384890
it already has for the most part
>>32384890
Someone will start making it again
What weapon is best for sailing ships in this day and age for protecting against pirates or rogue navy ships acting unlawfully?
Would a small black powder cannon still suffice?
Modern pirates typically have automatic weaponry, but they tend to use small and fast boats and operate in flotillas of two or more motor boats.
What would you mount on a yacht if you had one and wanted to be secure?
It should be something that isn't insane. For example, nobody will bother you for having a signal cannon you repurpose for self defense.
Nothing like an artillery cannon that can shell things ten miles away.
>>32384616
>small black powder cannon
my dad built a sailboat and is intent on installing exactly what you have pictured.
Ive come into the possession of a few mags I have not been able to identify. could you please used your combined expertise to help. here is 1/2

Looks like a PPK mag with the flit baseplate, I have one.

I am going to backpack next year across the country. The journey will take five to six months. I'm going to take a flight to Charleston, South Carolina, then I'm going to walk from there to San Jose. How can I best protect myself?
I currently only own pepper spray, an expandable baton, and a shitty Davis P32 .32 caliber that I get terrible groupings with and it jams a lot. I will also have bear mace with me. What device should I best defend myself with, and which should I take with me and when? I'm bound to run into a few cultists/meth heads at some point as I will be taking a lot of less traveled roads.
Literally every board on this website will be of use to me in this spectacular endeavor. Help me out guys.
San Jose, CA? In that case nothing, Cuckfornia hates guns and it really hates out of staters with them, especially for carry.
>>32384635
Dang. What's their rationale for it?
>>32384651
Literally commies
I went the enlisted route, and was thinking of maybe doing something with my degree, and possibly becoming an officer.
>>32384491
Not too hard, more of a test in how much bullshit you can put up with. I've seen a lot of hopelessly unprepared people graduate, I'm probably one of them 2bh.
>>32384754
>more of a test in how much bullshit you can put up with
Bureaucracy wise, or general fuck ups?
>>32385044
Like the ds making up pointless bullshit for you to do to fuck you around.
I remember 1 inspection we failed because some people had their gortex touching the edge of their locker and some people had a slight gap between it and the edge.
I've been looking at either a UTAS or KSG for HD. I like the looks and more compact size of the KSG, but the UTAS doesn't require me to toggle between tubes. Which one do you prefer, /k/, and why?
>>32384460
Ksg, dont buy turkroach guns
>>32384460
I really like my KSG. Balance is good, handles 3" and mini shells (11 or 12 in each tube, depending on buck/slug, for mini shells).
I have never fired or handled a UTAS.
>>32384460
the KSG is basically the apex of what it is
If you want to pay more for a bigger, heavier, less reliable gun for the sake of something different that's fine (I'd go for the DP-12 in that case) but for practical use the KSG
Hey fellow /k/ommandos recently I was given a offer of a Springfield xdm 9mm for my Chinese Norinco SKS I was wondering if this is a good deal as im 19 and this will be my first handgun. The handgun comes with two magazines and a open carry holster and id be giving him the rifle with a sling, twenty loaded ten round stripper clips, and a clip pouch due to the condition of the rifles stock. Also I'm only 19 and live in Oklahoma is this private trade legal?
>>32384264
It's a good trade. Even the xdm at wholesale equals the value of your SKS in great condition.
It's just a gook SKS, op and it's just an xd. I would ask do you need a pistol right now? If not, I'd keep the SKS.
>>32384264

get literally any other polymer gun

Explain yourself, because you can't.
Grandfather is giving me his old astra 300 9mm short.
Anyone have tips for upkeep (he is 85 and I feel hasn't cleaned it in a decade) and any other details I should know?
>>32384225
neat, I love Astras, oil it up and run a brush through the barrel
>>32384231
I've only fired it a couple times, but it feels great. The magazine that he got it with has a pretty weak spring, do you or anyone else have a good couple spots I might keep an eye open for a replacement?
>>32384263
dig around gunbroker, they turn up probably
Post your everyday experiences that feel like weapons
Slide bolts
Replacing batteries
Soda can storage
How do I clean this? It's deactivated so I'm only interested in the outside. It is just really rusty and dirty and I don't wanna fuck it up with the wrong cleaning stuff
>>32383692
Just toss it in the trash
oily rag, same with anything else.
>>32383692
take a shit on it
rub the shit all over
stick it up your ass
So apparently there is a petition going around to name the next major US NAVY ship, most likely a Zumwalt class destroyer, the "USS THE DEPLORABLES". I was wondering what the rest of/k/ thought about it. I personally think it would be amusing hearing the name from the media all the time. also for those interested here is the link to the petition For those that may be interested in signing, the petition can be found here https://wh.gov/ieJQQ
gay
>>32383638
Will never happen and it's a retarded idea. Change petitions don't do anything.
>>32383648
It's not a change petition, it's a white house petition meaning the president actually has to make a statement about it at 100k signatures. True it will most likely never become a name though.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand the excuses keep coming

When are you goys going to get over yourselves?
We get it, you're mommy's big boy on a Socialist Sri-Lankan Textile Factory Working Conditions Discussion Board
but no matter the perpetually bad news, you always have to pop in to make sure we know you have shitposting to do.
Look, i'm sorry your self esteem is tied to welfare money for businesses, I really am. But Hillary lost, bucko.

>These delays are not acceptable!
>So I'm going to cancel the F-35
>Thus forcing the services to wait even longer for new planes
>So now instead of a seven month delay, we have a 7 year delay
>I am a genius
I want to buy some nifty things, but I hate the idea of not having an assortment of manufactures for magazines, among other things.
I was wondering if any of these .308 FG42s can use AR10 or PTR magazines, or can be made to.
SMG makes 308 FG42s to use m14 mags
>>32383574
Oh well /thread I guess.
Now I just need HMG to make metal mags for their STG repro, I don't like the plastic.
>>32383574
Do they make a 30-06 FG42? Does anyone?
What's the best way to prepare for the italian special forces (basically the swat)? The test consists of 5000m in 20 minutes, 100m in 14 seconds, freestyle swimming for 100m, jumping 135cms, long jump of 4m, climbing a smooth rope for 25m without using your legs with little to no rest inbetween.
How do i demolish this test? I have 6 years to prepare and i already do boxing (been doing it for 2 years)

It's all we have ;_;

This, minus sneakers. Get a good leather boot, not one that makes you look operatory, but something subtle and tough.
