I live in California and want to conceal. How fucked am I?
Also what guns can I conceal easily in hot shitty weather?
better start your application now so you can have your first interview next christmas
>>32412928
maybe I'll just move. Probably less of a hassle in the end.
>>32412969
if you have the option to move out of that god forsaken state, do so..the peoples republic of kommifornia is getting worse by the day, a ccw will take anywhere from 9 months to 1.5 years to obtain due to ridiculous wait times for board reviews, finger printing and range/training time, ontop of the outrageous fees that must be paid to do all of it. I first submitted for my ccw, waited 8 months, moved to TN, applied in TN for my ccw, did everything i needed for ccw in a month, and had license in hand before my first appointment date came in california
Let's talk about movie characters and the guns they use. This is John Wick using an HK P30L with a compensator.
Seeing as it's Christmas time I feel John McClain's and his Beretta 92 are worth a mention in this thread.
>>32412425
Definitely.
Why does Smith use a Deagle brand Deagle?
Any navy that lacks active battleships isn't a navy at all.
I hope President Trump makes the navy great again.

As a European with barely any fighting experience and obviously no gun, are those tactical flashlights like in the picture any useful in regards to self-defense? I'm talking blinding and using the toothy ends to attack the assailant.
I'm thinking of getting one since shit starts to feel less and less secure.
Please help.
Buy something with an acrylic lens and potted electronics like an Elzetta, you can literally hammer nails with them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubYd2LgrAKs
Yeah, why don't you already have one? I carry this at night every time I go out and at least pepper spray if i'm drinking, and pepper spray and my pistol if i'm not.
Shine it in someone's face if they try and fuck with you, it will draw attention if you're getting attacked. Also, go outside at night for 45 mins and wait until your night vision is all there and have your friend shine you with one and then see how well you can see
This is mine, i'ts a little piece of shit but it's kind of bright and was only around $12 or so and came with a rechargable battery. It's easy and small to carry, but if I was using it by itself with no pepper spray, firearm taser, etc. I would get a bigger one with a spikier bezel, or maybe one of those big maglights
>>32412468
Oh yeah, and they're useful to see things at night. My phone has a flush light though but those are good too
Anyone have a bunch of guns but no car? how do you get to the range?
I live in a city and walk to work every day and parking is a total fucking pain in the ass. I ride my bike to the range or hop in an uber if it's raining.
>tfw the uber drivers always ask me "goin to work?" and I say, "I wish"
Get a side folder SBR and put it in a bag nigga and take it to the range
if you can afford a gun you can buy a car
>>32411551
I plan on just breaking down my AR and taking it. With the glock I just put it in my range bag and throw it in a bike bag and ride over. >>32411561
It's not that I can't afford a car. I just don't feel like it right now. There is not a place to park it outside my house and traffic is a fucking bitch right where I live. Guns also require a lot less maintenance. I'll get one eventually but I kind of want to move out of the city before I do that.
Is a 1911 a good first gun purchase?
I don't see a reason why not.
It's a good weapon, but keep your expectations about it realistic. It's not a modern firearm.
>>32411290
for a handgun, sure.
they're decent for carry since they're slim, and they're also a lot of fun to shoot. it's also the kind of pistol you can be proud to keep forever and pass on to your kids.
only downside is .45 is kind of expensive compared to 9mm.
>>32411290
Not really.
I mean, they CAN be great guns, but they generally are expensive ($500+) and there's a lot of shit ones out there you have to sift through to find not-shit ones at literally every price point. For a first gun ever it's a kind of overwhelming array of options and hidden catches you don't find with single-manufacturer models like a Glock 21 or M&P9
Post your night stand, /k/
>P226 in the drawer
>Keeping the shittier gun on the nightstand instead
I can only assume you cc in your anus.

Roast me, Senpai.
Looked in the sticky and didn't see anything about this.
Just got a Type 56 SKS and it is CAKED in cosmoline. It's worse than my pic and I just need some help on how to clean it all off.
From what I understand, the steel is easily cleaned with mineral spirits. I just need to disassemble the gun and let the parts soak for a while.
The stock, however, seems tricky. I want to save as much of the original finish as I can and want to avoid stripping the finish or sanding the stock. The best I've seen on this is to just use a hair drier or an oven to heat the stock to "sweat" the cosmoline out.
Are these the best methods out there? What have other /k/ommandos done with their cosmoline covered rifles?
>>32410850
just leave it on rifle is fine comrade
You can use a degreaser like simple green and hot water for the metal. It should take about 1 hours to get like 95%+ of the cosmoline out.
The stock can be baked in an oven at like 100f to 200f and that will cause the cosmo to bleed out or if you do not want to fuck up your oven you can use some heat source like a portable heater or a halogen lamp. Or you can wait for the summer and on a hot and sunny day and leave the stock on a cardboard and let it bleed out over the course of the day that will cause the stock to loose like 80% of the cosmoline. Hope this helps.
>>32410873
I've heard too many nasty stories about SKS rifles and cosmiline to leave it, comrade. No slamfires for this peasant.
What is this meme shit? I bought my first handgun back in August and made like 10 threads asking for suggestions and nobody ever mentioned this. In fact I have never heard of it until 3 months ago. Now I see it discussed all over this board
What is it and why is everyone creaming their pants over it?
Why are the sights triangles?

pros and cons of a hex magazine and a pmag?
not really sure what's the rage with the hex mag other than it's cheaper than a pmag.
>>32410379
lmfao wrong image
>>32410379
Hexmags are made of a cheaper feeling plastic, I personally haven't had issues with any but I know some people have had feeding issues and I think some have had the feed lips break off. They're also less aesthetically pleasing IMO.
>>32410400
how were hex mags even popularized in the first place? is it because they're just as good as pmags and weigh around the same? Debating of whether or not to invest in Pmags or the hex. Pmags would put a bigger dent in my wallet than Pmags, but i'll probably go for the Pmags if it's that much better than the hex mags

Hey guys, looking for options on a rifle.
>Bullpup
>not .223/.556
>prefer bigger caliber, like .308/30-06 and the like
>no AR-XX
Any Ideas? Price range about $1500ish, could do a little more if there is a valid reason.
Nothing with those requirements exists in that price range. Spend more or change specs.

You could try finding a bullpup kit for a Vepr or something, but other than that no clue, plus I don't know if that's even in your price range

If I wasn't going to inherit one, I'd jump on it.
those glock 35's are a fucking steal of a deal.
you probably can't go wrong with anything on that list, especially if for whatever reason you want a .40. 99% of those guns will have never seen a shot fired outside of qualifications.
standouts
glock 17, 35

those 11-87s look nice too.
