How would art like this be referenced to?
I'd like to find out more about this style/genre.
Also post similar work

It's totally concept art.
A quick image search tells me it was for Bloodborne.
A enviro artiest would kick these out pre production to help create the games setting.
A focus on giving a general idea of the color, mood, space and form of the area rather than polishing off.
Mot the roughness and the photo texture. These were kicked out quickly.
The artiest are amazing and use these techniques to great effect.
It's amazing how you can throw the name of any triple a game and the words 'concept art' into google and be meet with a landslide of art like this.
Have to remember though that this art was created with a purpose other than singularly being a work of art.

Does anyone know who started this trend? I first saw it a couple months ago and now it's everywhere especially in the tattoo world.
Pretty cool, would it be hard to do a grafitti version of this?
It's been on bandcamp album artwork and t-shirts for years

It has more of an instagram vibe. Tumblr-core usually is hellbent to make extremely ugly faces.
I want to get better in drawing just by constant looking at art. Is it possible?
>>2838352
Can you get better at math by just watching numbers and equations?
Start drawing what you see. Recreate it to the best of your abilities. This will actually help you improve, sitting around staring at things really isn't going to do much of anything.

not exactly the best comparison...
New thread for posting rvBT work
Not sure if this counts as art, but these are some of my attempts at creativity.
Any feedback?
seppuku, commit it.
So, I have been trying to improve my drawings by drawing my own hand every other day. I just use regular a pencil and eraser, nothing fancy. Can you recommend me some particular technique or trick?
When artists draws well without looking at a photograph, you might think he's drawing from imagination and not using reference. Sure, it might look like that artist isn't using reference, but it's not true, the artist uses memories, which is based off of references. In a lot of art communities it's often times refereed as the visual library. The reason why some artists can make up characters without looking at a photograph is simply because they have a very expanded visual library off the figure and have an understanding of the fundamentals. Usually they may not necessary be able to see what the character looks like before they actually draw it, because the knowledge is usually in bits and pieces. Fictional beasts are the same way too, they have a very expanded knowledge on the anatomy of animals and they can create remixes of that knowledge and understanding.
There are some artists that can perceive what their drawing will look like long before they finish it off, but this is because they are simply familiar and experienced with the subject matter. For example, if I was drawing a front face of a blonde with a ponytail, I'd probably know what it would look like long before it's done simply because I've drawn dozens if not hundred of front faces, blondes, and ponytails. Heck with that combination so generic, I could've drawn that already hundreds of times. From this familiarity it's no surprise that I know what its going to turn out long before it's done. But drawing from experience is different then drawing from imagination. Simply because you've done the work before.
And to note the "build up" methods of course are a lot less predictable then certain other methods of art, and it becomes incredibly difficult to draw things exactly as what you see in the imagination (your more or less just drawing from theory then imagination). But that's kind of the beauty of it all, it's a mystery not just to the audience of how it will turn out, but also to you.
All this mental gymnastics.
stfu and go draw
not gnna read your post op. but drawing form imagination with out education of fundementals will hinder your growth as an artist TREMENDOUSLY.
don't do it. might as well use reference. then branch out with you "IMAGINATION"

real talk do you have schizophrenia?
My friends and family sometimes accuse me of tracing cause im so good at recreating photos thru drawing. I had to prove to my best friend that i dont trace by drawing an entire portrait in front of him.
I know im good at drawing but im tired of ppl accusing me of tracing and im ready to takke my art to next level and make a career out if i just dont know if i should work for a company or just get my art into a gallery
The pic is my drawing vs the photo i took inspiration from
It's called a reference. It's obvious you didn't copy it since you kinda suck at it anyway.
>>2835809
Uhm what? it looks exactly like the picture..?
>>2835811
In your dreams maybe.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Would you consider porn expressionism? Should an alternative porn set, if done well enough, be allowed to win in tournaments?
Not all porn is expressionism, but there is expressionism in porn
Expressionism has a definition, anon. Porn does not fit it.
>>2840235
maybe. Assuming the tourny is financed by normies then they consider degeneracy not an embrace of life but weakness; the path of least resistance per say.
That being said a lot of upheld art is pornographic, just not alternative.

i dont know who usually makes these but i dont care
there are too many "r8 my art XD" threads

Post your current drawing here and provide helpful criticism and advice to others!
This is not a thread to discuss your autism, the rest of the board is for that.
Please make sure your posted image is clear, DOWNSIZED TO AROUND 1000 PIXELS WIDE, ROTATED TO THE CORRECT ORIENTATION, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then kill yourself.
