Why doesn't /g/ ever do anything fun any more? Instead of arguments about OS, why doesn't it ever catch terrorists or something interesting?

I've got a fucked up back, does anyone know a good way to stream a game from my desktop to my fat ass laying in bed on my laptop?
>>56005830
Valve has built a pretty damn good implementation of a streaming protocol into Steam. Even if you don't have the game on steam, you can add the .exe and stream it by clicking "add a game" in the bottom right hand corner.
By putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger and tell your dad hes a white man who raised a nigger

I have an older c55d-b5102 with a beema a8-6410.
I went to update the display driver and get crimson instead of CCC. display driver failed but everything else installed. I googled and tried uninstalling via device manager and running DDU and then installing and had the same issue. So I used windows update and got the oem driver (13.352.1004.1008)
So I went to Toshiba support and found a newer driver (15.20.1040-150608a-185302C-Toshiba)
http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200009390
should I uninstall again and install this or leave the current version windows provided? Installed the newest version of BIOS from that page with no issues so far.
sorry for help question, wsr is dead
I'm dumb 15.2 is for win 10. I'm on 8.1 64

Hello /g/. I'm looking to switch to Linux from Windows 10 because of Microsoft's recent bullshit. The thing is, I'm not sure what distro to install. I don't play games, I do primarily office work on this and listening to music. I'm not very familiar to Linux terminal, save for some wireless penetration testing I did with BackTrack/Kali a few years ago.
What distro would /g/ recommend?
>>56005813
Xubuntu.
>>56005813
I'm in the same boat except I do play games and I'm even less competent with Linux or any sort of coding. If it weren't for the bullshit levels of spyware/lack of update control I'd upgrade my win7 to 10 but fuck that.
>>56005838
Any particular reasons why?

I'm midway through installing gentoo and I think I've just realized I don't need or really want to use gentoo
let's say I don't put java in my use flags, and am using my computer, and have multiple things installed with optional java support that I don't have. Suddenly I need java, so what do I do? recompile all relevant packages? will portage tell me which ones those are?
Portage will do it for you.
Emerge world and come back tomorrow

You should listen to that voice. You don't need Gentoo. Install a standard productive distro and do something interesting. do it. Just. Do it.

No.
How do you guys protect your torrenting activities? I had PIA and it was pretty good but it sucked for web browsing since a lot sites were blocked.
What should I get? PIA was only 6 dollars so I might as well use that if every other option is more expensive.
>>56005549
what client do you use? deluge and transmission both have decent block lists
>>56005564
I have Deluge
I'm confused. You were using the vpn from pia and are now complaining how you can't post on 4chan and torrent at the same time? Do you know pia provides a socks5 connection for use in torrential so that you can still be protected by routing torrent traffuc through the Netherlands while not being on a vpn right?
holy shit this is the worst fucking distro Ive ever used everythings locked down
Fedora?

what distro you fucking sperg?
/hpg/ is an audiophile circle jerk and everyone in that general ridicules anyone who wants a mic attached to their headphones.
This thread is for those of us who are professionals who actually work in corporate offices and need a mic attached to our headphones so that we can move around our office doing work with both our hands while in a conference call.
>>56005477
sanjeet, pls
call center monkeys are not professionals
>>56005502
here's your reply
If you have experience with these, what are the chances of getting hired right out of the pillbox? Are they favorable? 40k / year would be plenty for me, and being a code monkey doesnt really sound that bad.
>40k
>>56005445
Thats what I keep reading from everyone thats get hired. Have I been bamboozled?
>>56005481
No, but you need to get the right one doe, you know those that are actually a front for several businesses that don't want to hire actual professionals to do menial work so they charge people to train them and then employ them.
Chose the right one, then try to be one of the top students (maybe go after already knowing your shit hehe), build relationship with the key teachers, and its done.
Hey /g/,
How could I run a program on a remote Windows machine as if it were on a local Windows PC? Something like a shitty laptop running Photoshop on a fast workstation, but to the laptop user it seems like it's running on their own PC.
Also, ideally the remote PC it's running on would not have a window of whatever program the laptop is running pop up, and the program it's running on the workstation would be able to access all the files on the laptop as if they were local.
Something like PSexec looks like the way to go, with a few modifications. Does /g/ know of a better solution?
>>56005334
What you're describing is a thin client.
They're not popular anymore.
TeamViewer.
Any VDI
