I have an older c55d-b5102 with a beema a8-6410.

I went to update the display driver and get crimson instead of CCC. display driver failed but everything else installed. I googled and tried uninstalling via device manager and running DDU and then installing and had the same issue. So I used windows update and got the oem driver (13.352.1004.1008)

So I went to Toshiba support and found a newer driver (15.20.1040-150608a-185302C-Toshiba)

should I uninstall again and install this or leave the current version windows provided? Installed the newest version of BIOS from that page with no issues so far.

Hello /g/. I'm looking to switch to Linux from Windows 10 because of Microsoft's recent bullshit. The thing is, I'm not sure what distro to install. I don't play games, I do primarily office work on this and listening to music. I'm not very familiar to Linux terminal, save for some wireless penetration testing I did with BackTrack/Kali a few years ago.

What distro would /g/ recommend?

First time poster, long time lurker.

Bought an ipad off a guy on one of those facebook sites. Guy knew nothing about tech and sold it to me dirt cheap cuz he didnt know what he was doing. Trying to restore the device and i got this far. Is this the inevitable ICloud? (I know nothing of apple devices) Is there a way to work around this? Idk what to do

I'm midway through installing gentoo and I think I've just realized I don't need or really want to use gentoo

let's say I don't put java in my use flags, and am using my computer, and have multiple things installed with optional java support that I don't have. Suddenly I need java, so what do I do? recompile all relevant packages? will portage tell me which ones those are?

How do you guys protect your torrenting activities? I had PIA and it was pretty good but it sucked for web browsing since a lot sites were blocked.
What should I get? PIA was only 6 dollars so I might as well use that if every other option is more expensive.

/hpg/ is an audiophile circle jerk and everyone in that general ridicules anyone who wants a mic attached to their headphones.

This thread is for those of us who are professionals who actually work in corporate offices and need a mic attached to our headphones so that we can move around our office doing work with both our hands while in a conference call.

Hey /g/,

How could I run a program on a remote Windows machine as if it were on a local Windows PC? Something like a shitty laptop running Photoshop on a fast workstation, but to the laptop user it seems like it's running on their own PC.

Also, ideally the remote PC it's running on would not have a window of whatever program the laptop is running pop up, and the program it's running on the workstation would be able to access all the files on the laptop as if they were local.

Something like PSexec looks like the way to go, with a few modifications. Does /g/ know of a better solution?
