How is Arch safe if it's developed and maintained exclusively by unpaid volunteers? Do we even know who these people are?
Should do some research so you can make better bait. The contributors are easily found on Arch's website.

>Do we even know who these people are?
no
>>56000517
Just knowing their names doesn't make it safe, especially when literally anyone can contribute to Arch.
My graphics card has one 6pin socket. Can I split a single yellow 12v line from my psu to power the 1 and 3 pin on the graphics card? Or do I have use two separate 12v lines? Im using a 2nd PSU to power the graphics card.
>>56000440
just get one of these 6pin adapters for a dollar
I only have a single yellow 12v line available. Those molex adapters use two yellow 12v wires per 6 pin socket. So I'm trying to find out if I can split the single yellow line into two.
>>56000440
what graphics card are you using?
What computing tasks do you automate through scripting or automation tools?
What are your favorite automation tools?
>>56000426
I know /g/ is slow today but can someone give me resources on how to automate the sorting of pictures and pdf?
They don't have proper names and are scattered in random directories.
Help!
You mean like GRAFCET? Aside from that I only know C.
>>56000781
not even that complex. it could just be something someone does with autohotkey or using selenium to enter website contests everyday
We're being watched, every moment of every day of our lives. Everything we do, no matter how we try to elude them, they see it all. Every wire is tapped, every frequency is monitored, every key has been stolen. They can listen to what you're saying by pointing a laser at your window, they can watch you from the skies above, and soon they'll be able to read your thoughts. Every moment is available to them.
When did it become truly impossible to escape surveillance?
>implying they care about you
>implying they'd waste money tapping every wire
It's not impossible to escape surveillance, it's just inconvenient.
Thank God nobody has time to see and watch all of 7 billion people's internet history
>>56000839
>implying they aren't using computers to aggregate, sort, and utilize the data
I'm looking for a way to transfer data from an arduino or raspberry pi at a long range to connect it to my stree mailbox. I have looked into GMS module but don't wanna pay the sibscription fee. Right now my best options are xbee or class 1 bluetooth. Cheaper the better. Any ideas?
PS: there is no LoRa network available in my area
Try looking for long range nrf24l01+

I've been trying to keep my phone as Google-free as possible, however some apps have a pop-up saying that it needs Google Play Services in order to work. Some of them, work just by dismissing the mesage, whereas other don't. Is there a way to get those app working without Google Play? If there isn't, how can I feed the least to the botnet, while giving in?
I just want to play Pokemon.
TL;DR:Is there a way to use apps that requiere Google Play services without having an account linked to my phone and Play Store?
>buy a google phone
>trying to keep it google free
there's an open source implementation called "tiny gapps" or something
no idea how well it works
>this thread again
Literally like the third time I've seen this today, and neither of the other ones are even dead.
I don't know shit about Linux or systems administration. The only thing I have to my name is a GED and debt. If RHCSA isn't worth jackshit, then what certs and training will increase my chances of employment the most?
>>55999528
bumpage.
>>55999528
Bump, how about in combination with AWS certs?

What is the longest mouse that doesn't have a shit sensor and switches?
It just dawned on me that my Logitech m570 trackball is so comfortable because it's almost six inches long.
Most mice I've looked at are closer to 5 inches at most. That leaves the mouse just shy of resting in the back of my palm comfortably. That extra inch makes all the difference I guess, heh
Before you decry palm grip, don't. I agree. This is for a nonstandard standing desk setup where my hand naturally rests on top of the mouse rather than the more precise fingertip grip method which I vastly prefer. But needs are needs and I need a long mouse for this setup.
Closest long mouse I've found won't cut it and all the long mice I can find are shit sensor gimmick brand gaming mice. I'd keep using a trackball but I'm faster and more precise with a regular mouse so for some instances, I need a regular mouse.
I have all kinds of wrist rests and I don't like the way they feel. I just prefer a longer mouse.
>>55999263
So, you like a good 6" in your hand? Feels right?
>>55999263
I'd put my long mouse inside her
hows her foot game?
How to make i3 feel more like a desktop environment?
>>55999255
what do you mean?
you can always run it inside of XFCE
sudo apt-get remove i3 && sudo apt-get install gnome3
>>55999255
i once was concerned about this too. i made a long list of features with taskwarrior that i wanted to add to the experience. then i just started figuring out how to add them one by one. finally i had built a script that would do everything necessary to make i3 feel at home. if i were a big meanie and a bully id tell you to do all the work yourself but since im nice ill post the script here for you. just paste it to the command line.
# pacman -R i3 && pacman -S xfce
Is there a program I can use to make a web graph of files?
I'd like the ability to AB one file against every other file in a directory, then choose whether to link it or not. Then at the end of the process, see which were linked and if there were any files with two or more similar connections.
why did you make a thread for this
>>55999250
where was I supposed to put it

So this is my Dell Latitude CPi. 366Mhz alongside 128MB of RAM.
Recently the HDD in my thing has gone bad and I've decided to replace it with a 10GB one. One of the things I'll do is installing a Linux distro alongside Windows 2000.
What would be your distro pick here, /g/?
gentoo
>>55999210
Can we put the memes away though
Don't think Debian will run on this and I'm concerned about installation process of Arch
>>55999125
Buy new ram first 2gb at least
Hey /g/ decided to get a gtx 1060 and before any of the AMD fanboys get angry I need cuda to run resolve 12.5
That being said, what is /g/'s favourite manufacturer? I've personally enjoyed using EVGA over the last few years.
Gigabyte makes the best Nvidia cards.
EVGA has the best customer service.
MSI is chink shit.
That wasn't an option in KS when I played it, the fuck?

Things change
Let's take a step back from the speaker general, and discuss the low notes.
What kind of subwoofer do you have?
>>55998831
I need help on what kind of subwoofer I should get, or if I should build one myself.
I'm looking for a subwoofer that will produce good, loud bass for nigger music and movies.
I'd like to spend <$300, not including the amp
>>55998831
>still requiring a subwoofer
