Logitech M570 here. Looking to upgrade to a kensington trackball soon, but hesitant to take the leap. The M570 works great as an entry level though btw.

The difference between those mice appear to be the case, judging by some light reading. Get the one you think would fit your hand the best.
>>
the lighter the mouse the better

I have to disagree. It is really up to personal preference. A heavier mouse has more inertia, and therefore more _natural_ mouse acceleration, which might be nice for some people. Plus, lighter mice feel (and usually are) cheap. It is best to try some out at a store or at a friends so you know what works best for you.

So the Sapphire RX 470 currently runs at 75c while playing on Ultra

Does this seem about right?

My last graphics card was a HD 6950 that was hitting 65c under the lowest settings.

i hear the 480 maxes out at 83 degrees so it seem to be the case .

is my computer going to blow up?

Why does VLC media player have so many graphical glitches? Like I get sick of it and throw my stuff into MPC-HC instead. Why is VLC so poorly programmed?

Because it's a french company.

Why do you keep using it then? Why not switch to MPC-HC altogether?

Alright lads, how hard is this shit?

I got approached by the biggest IT company for a network manager job, they're hiring me as soon as i pass this and the test is set for the 30th.

I've done 6 months of IT school for the army, and I work with various systems at least once a month as well.

I've already got A+. And I'm pretty tech savvy.

>>
>>56003553
The security+ is about as hard as the network cert from Cisco but for security.

It's rigorous in its practices and not at all similar to the ease and outdatedness of the A+ exam. I'd buy the newest book and study hardcore asap if you hope to pass because it's beyond the scope of common sense and anti virus.
>>
>>56003553
Actually pretty easy if you have a little
But of IT experience. Buy a study guide and get after it.

I'm curious if anyone knows of a Windows 10 compatible program I could use that will automatically shut down my PC at the same time every night, regardless of whether it's being used or not. I need my PC to automatically shut down at 10:30pm every evening, and while I found a few promising programs and tips for doing this via google, they all seem to be more about the PC being programmed to shut off after X amount of hours, rather than at a specific time each day.

>>
>>56003538
well since it's windows you can just make a little c++ program that runs in the background while checking the time
if it's 10:30 you just run this 'system("shutdown -s")' and it will shut down the pc
>>
>>56003538
You can prob. do it with task scheduler.
>>
>>56003749
shit nevermind I'm retarded >>56003780 is right you can schedule one

To those of you that have overclocked do you mind answering one or all questions for me?

1. What device did you OC?
2. By how much did you OC?
3. How has it affected power draw? Both at idle and at full load?
4. Same question but with temperatures
5. Do you find it worth it?
24 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>56003516
1. 4690k
2. Now running at 4.5Ghz
3. Desktop and I don't pay the power bill so I don't care
4. Below 80 degrees at load
5. Yes, even just for peace of mind that when waiting around for some CPU intensive process to finish there's nothing I could do to make it faster.
>>
>>56003516
>What device did you OC?
Every CPU I've owned for quite a long time, and most of the graphics cards
>By how much did you OC?
Varies drastically. From 10% to 50%.
>How has it affected power draw? Both at idle and at full load?
It always goes up. Generally the difference is negligible at idle and only noticeable at load.
>Same question but with temperatures
Same answer.
>Do you find it worth it?
Yes. If you don't like doing it as a hobby, though, then you should quit doing it since the gains are no longer large enough to be noticeable without benchmarks. It also doesn't save you money like it once did. If you do like doing it as a hobby though, there's no reason why you shouldn't.

My mobo has the ability to auto-OC my CPU but from my understanding it's typically more conservative. Should I just let my mobo do it for stability or is it worth doing trial and error?

What does /g/ think the fix would be for this monitor issue I sent it in for repair since it was under warranty still but I'm just curious what /g/ thinks the issue was I was thinking a capacitor went bad.

>>56003282
no...do you have any idea what a capacitor does?
>>
>>56003344
a device used to store an electric charge, consisting of one or more pairs of conductors separated by an insulator.
So, what was it then ?
>>
>>56003344
https://www.google.com/search?q=capacitor+pop+monitor
They are a well known issue and a common reason for monitor issues I've heard. It's an easy fix if that is the issue but taking it a part voids warranty so better off shipping it for repair if under warranty
