And what did an RX 480 get you? Singles?
Sorry about that, anon.

I'm building a somewhat budget PC. Is there a recommended CPU set to go along with the GTX 960 that won't bottlneck it to fuck? Intel, please, my motherboard is LGA 1151. I'm looking at the i5 6400, since I can get it for $175 right now, would that work okay?
did you already get the gtx 960? I'd get a Rx 460 if I were you.
I don't think any cpu for that socket will bottleneck that gpu, so maybe the i5 is the way to go.
>>56006428
Why's that? I'm not 100% versed in this whole thing, I'm more or less learning as I go.
But no, I haven't bought the CPU or GPU yet
I recently got my hands on a server, but I don't know what to use it for?
What do you guys use your servers for, /g/?

Sickrage, Transmission, Teamspeak, backup VPN and random projects oh yeah and an ARK game server.
btw need a new router that can handle 1gbit wan to lan over cable without freezing my current wnr3500lv2 is absolure shit, any recommendations without it costing 200 usd?
>>56006365
You got an R610? Nice, thats some sweet hardware.
What do you need in your life? Fast, flexible media streaming? Make a Plex server. Have a family on Windows that should be monitored/controlled? SAMBA AD/DC. Want a cool sekrit place to chat with friends? IRC server, or Matrix-chat server. Want to download shit and give back? Seedbox. Want to protect yourself when you are out on the prowl? OpenVPN server. Want to share your shitty ideas with the world? Apache2 web server.
There are really a lot of possibilities. Either way, slap ESXI or Xen on there and play around with virtualisation, as it will make life easier in the future, and is a good skillset.
What font does /g/ use on mobile?
Since I'm an adult, default
>>56006376
Was asking because i wanted something new and appealing but not childish
Default, because i can't add my own since it's locked down bullshit
Thanks LG
Odd question, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any VPN services that allow for me to pay it via SMS or phone payments. So that it appears on my bill as a premium service, rather than on my bank statement or paypal account.
You can pay for a couple with a gift card
>>56006338
You can pay for a bunch of companies with btc and other cryptos

can I buy bitcoins via SMS?
Hey /g/,
I just finished editing the readme for my pet project, hope you guys can check it out and let me know what you think.
Would love some feedback and possibly features that would make Magnetissimo easier to use. Thanks!

Its made un elixir? Wow
Should add DHT sniffing and torrent metadata downloads 2bh
DHT sniffing is easy with node, but I'm not sure if there's a way to do torrent metadata downloading yet
DHT is pretty much useless without it unless you use a service like torrage or torcache to get the data, which probably won't be there for a majority of torrents

Just recently bought a new harddrive as a back up for all my other drives. Stupid question: what happens to the files in the back up drive if I change the originals in original drive? Would back up drive know just to update those particular files? Thank you.

Are these comfortable?
Its a pretty damn popular mouse now but It looks awkward to me. Im considering getting one off amazon and returning it.
probably one of the ugliest things i've seen tech wise
and i'm a big corsair supporter.
who the fuck would buy that shit?? kek
Idk...I think so, but "comfort" is subjective.
>>56006230
I tried one of those at a store. Was not super uncomfortable, but it was not comfy/cool enough to warrant the price tag IMHO. Not a gamer, so I was not looking at those features, so YMMV. There is nothing to loose from purchasing from Amazon though, as you can just return it for free if it does not work out for you.
and if but what

What does /g/ think of Manjaro?
I'm a Linux pleb that tries Arch but that was over my head so I switched to Manjaro which was easier to install than Win7. It's really easy, user friendly, and it's built on Arch but it never get mentioned here.
>>56006146
Pretty comfy for a retard distro. Mint and Ubuntu have all sorts of bugs, while Manjaro just werks. Thought is was a meme until I tried it.
I use it. Its better than the rest.
>>56006146
10/10 would shill for it anyday. It's an amazing normie distro that can turn you into an expert if/when you feel like it. I started out with RAM-hogging KDE and then moved to i3 in minutes and never switched since.
What do you think of floor cleaning robots?
I feel like the roombas are way too expensive for the crap job they do. Pretty much a novelty tax
>>56006095
Roombas are cute af, but really only make sense if you live in a small apt or a 1 floor house, as they are expensive. Also, any modern one that requires an internet connection like an "IoT" device are a no-go. 100% Chinese botnet.
Immigrants do a better job
What is that laptop that appears on many movies?
You can probably Google the brand name and model that are clearly visible in the pic
>>56006072
Panasonic Toughbook. The cheapest are the CF-29 MK I or MK II, and they usually sell for about $100 on eBay.They are tough, but not fast, and are very bulky.
Panasonic Toughbook. That one there is the CF-19, which is their most popular convertible model. I have a CF-30, a CF-47, and a CF-53 if there's anything you want to know.

Hello /g/,
Long time lurker here.
I'm trying to upgrade my current Modem + WiFi router set up. I'm looking for help and suggestions.
I've been using the same hardware for many years now (at least since 2009). I currently am using the good ol' Motorolla Surfboard 120 and the Cisco E1000 WiFi router. These two have been good to me. Barely, any dropped connections, if internet goes out, it's usually on the comcast side. I'm just worried about replacing these because they've been very very stable.
I'm currently looking to getting pic related, but worried about reviews with dropped connections. I was also looking for something with a better signal strength than my current E1000.
Comcast has been pestering me to upgrade to a Docsis 3.0 modem for "faster speeds". But I've held back for years now since every technician has told me that the lines into our building (condo) are very shit. (When AT&T came and put/setup their lines/service, they said the same thing). I also want a solid modem like the 120.
I usually have 2 wired connection to the router (PC and Netflix box/PS4), and 3-4 wireless connections simultaneously on most nights.
I have a budget of about $500 for both.
motorola surboard and a witi router.
>>56006017
Sorry. I'm looking to upgrade my current modem + Wifi Router combo.
Looking for a stable Docsis 3.0 modem and a stable WiFi router with better strength
