my mum was too busy putting up with her in laws'/my dad's shit to feed me good stuff all the time (didn't help that i was a picky little shit), ate my share of fast food and processed frozen shit over the years

now that i'm eating healthy, cooking all my own meals and buying my own groceries she's chillin, also glad that i can help her eat better too now and discourage her from eating filth
(even though she doesn't like my cooking)

I've been lifting for about 2 years and I've been taking regular protein powder. I've noticed the gains have been slowing way down for a couple of months now. Are their any supplements that I could or should be taking?

What gives, /fit/? Do I need more protein in my diet? More calories? I want to gain muscle mass and see results in the mirror and on my max weights but if I can avoid full-on bulking I would like to.

Isn't bulk then cut a meme? How should I change my diet to see the results I want without just putting on fat?

The problem is the diet. If you eat exactly your maintenance including calories burned by gymming, but get enough protein, the problem is you won't have any energy surplus to spend on muscles.

I'd recommend tracking calories and undershooting it, or measuring how much of the food in the box you used to get a decent estimate. You'll be surprised by how few calories certain foods include.

Also, the ONLY WAY to gain muscles if you're skinny like you (i can tell), is to ""bulk"". You gain fat, you gain muscle, but you can't gain muscle without some fat. Who cares.

Then once you feel your lifts are adequate you can eat slightly below maintenance to maintain your lifts but burn fat.

Hey /fit/, tomorrow I'm going on a decently long hike with a friend of mine and some of his friends as well. I've never met these other people so I'm pretty nervous. The hike is no big deal since you assholes got me into shape, but how do I not act like a fucking sperg?

Am I overtraining? I can never really tell but I am often fatigued.

So I have been lifting for over a year and half. Current routine is

5x5 press
4x5 deadlift
3x12 pull ups
3x10-12 Lat pull doens
3x10-12 rows

Aside from the traditional style of cutting (just staying in a calorie deficit for a long period of time) is there any alternative way to do this to make it less hard.


What I'm asking basically is, could I do something like this.

Maintenance = 3000 calories

Week 1 - 2500 calories
Week 2 - 2200 calories
Week 3 - 1900 calories
Week 4 - 2500 calories
Week 5 - 2200 calories
Week 6 - 1900 calories

Repeat until fat loss has occurred, so basically I start on normal deficit, then enter a greater deficit, then I get 1 week with a massive deficit, but then I return back to a normal deficit the following week.

What does /fit/ think about something like this? Doable?
