We used to make "jail house burritos" in jail.
Take your unopened ramen, and smash it up.
Open up the ramen package, remove the flavoring packet.
Insert whatever you want, such as smashed dorritos, cut up sausage, smashed hot fries, it's kind of hard to fuck up.
Throw in the right amount of water. You don't want too much, just enough so that the ramen noodles will soak it up and become soft, but you're not making soup here.
Empty seasoning packet into ramen bag and mix.
Push all the contents to the lower part of the bag and fold it over itself. Then take a small towel and wrap it up very firmly so it takes a cylindrical shape and wedge it in underneath something. Let it sit for...I can't remember it's been so long....10, 15, 20 mins and let it "cook".
Afterwards you'll have a burrito-like ramen noodle....thing. It's pretty good.

So I've been wanting to make some of my own pho at home. I've been looking up recipes and they all parboil their bones before hand.... Doesn't this get rid of so much possible flavor? I've never really considered pho to be "flavorful" and I believe this is why. Would it be better if i don't parboil my bones?

Question: Do you consider pho to be flavorful?

Commercial Grade Pho is supposed to have a clear broth; that is why recipe tells you to parboil bones.

if your eating it at home just make beef stock add the sugar+spices

put broth in refrigerator...

get veggys / sliced beef + boiled beef / garnishes ready (i eat the combo, but I dont cook that stuff at home)

combine broth + veggys (not garnishes)

boil noodles, heat up broth.

Put noodles in broth, put meat on noodles,
serve with garnishes

So is taste all in the mind or what? How can you accuse someone of being a pleb if they taste food differently to you? We all know foods like cilantro are genetically activated and some people just taste soap. How do we know this isn't true for all other aspects of flavors?

Starting a traditional English Christmas pudding this Sunday. First time (American).

Question to anyone with experience: will it be alright to have it sit in an airtight container until Christmas day? All the examples I see show it being left to rest in open-air, but I've been having a bit of an ant problem lately and would hate if they got to it.

I've got about five of these Arby's Beef N Cheddar sandwiches in the fridge since last night, how many days will they still be good? I certainly can't eat all five today

Furthermore, some thoughts on this sandwich...I'm not liking their signature Arby's sauce much, it comes default on these and I don't like it, they would be better off if they had BBQ sauce shipped to them from some other company

I love to watch chef John, very relaxing anti stress videos. Also has a pro aproach to cooking (except using american measures for stuff) so he is pretty good in demonstrating technique.
