Is pizza a good plebeian food for the working man? Any tips to how to make a one-a-day lunch pizza healthier?
Also, I'm looking to order a pizza stone, is there a difference in quality between pizza stones for even cooking etc?
>>8326940
>plebeian food for the working man?
what does that mean? what does plebeian have to do with anything. You realize that literally everyone that isn't noble or patrician was a pleb? Bill gates is a pleb.
In order to make a pizza healthier you omit or drastically reduce cheese, oil, salt and meat and use more vegetables, herbs, spices and even fruits or legumes.
Removing cheese is the number 1 thing to do.

Nothing unhealthy about a moderate amount of fat
Okay, idiot noob question about aging a steak.
Do you cut the roast into steaks before aging it? Or do you age the whole roast, and then cut it after it's been aged?
goddamn, you have to cook it first and then age it in a brine then slice
Once it's dead, it can no longer be aged.
You know how like when your grandmother is reminiscing about her dead siblings, she'd say "if my sister were alive, she'd be 82 right now".
Well that's what you're doing. "If my beef was alive, it'd be this age".
Well its not. It's just old fucking meat sitting in your fridge, you weirld little faggot.
It depends, Most manufacturers cut them about an inch thick and, then let them artificially age (look up industrial molding techniques), but the authentic meat-agers actually cover a whole animal in the spores, and cut away the surface, once it's ready
this shit is the most amazing generic cheese that can be purchased from common grocery stores
i would strongly recommend you try it if you don't mind coughing up 5 bucks for a block of cheese
also please note that I do not work for cracker barrel nor am i receiving any type of compensation from them
>>8326777
Agreed, just because it is mass produced and from America doesn't mean it can't be great. I'll go for DB extra sharp cheddar over some artisan bullshit 90% of the time
>>8326777
>generic
no, it's branded 'Cracker Barrel'
>>8326777
Well, OP, I mind coughing up five bucks for cheese.
>also please note that I do not work for cracker barrel nor am i receiving any type of compensation from them
Sure thing, pal.

Not even Boston's meme sandwich place is this expensive.
Would you excuse a slice of pizza that looked like this just because it came from an old local joint?
>>8325113
POOR QUALITY NEVER HAS A GOOD EXCUSE.
>>8325113
dude I wouldn't excuse that even if it were gas station pizza
I'd probably still eat it but it doesn't look that good. Cheese looks burnt
Why is white meat the standard in nuggets, TV dinners, cheap renditions thereof, etc. when dark meat is both cheaper and much more delicious?
In what world is beef cheaper than chicken?
Besides, meat in nugs and tv dinners is mostly mechanically separated meats instead of breaded chicken breasts.
>>8324220
Where did OP mention beef??
And to answer OP's question, it's because it's more marketable to people wanting "healthy" alternatives despite the fact that they're actually just eating shit.
Many people still think that less fat=more healthy
Honestly I'd rather they didn't know any better, more cheap thigh meat for me.
It's "holiday meal" day at the hospital cafeteria!

My favourite ever :
Make shortbread batter (50g melted butter, 1 egg, shit ton of sugar, flour)
Butter a square oven pan and flatten all that batter on the bottom
15 minutes at 215°C
Meanwhile, blend the juice of 2 lemons and some zest with 2 egg yolks, sugar, heavy cream and flour (No quantities cause I'm not your dad) till you got a slightly thick mixture, then incorporate the battered whites
Pour on batter and back in the oven for 10 more minutes at 215
Sprinkle withg sugar, put it back in the oven for 5 minutes
Let cool completely
So I made a stuffed pepper recipe last night, and decided it would be good with steak. I'm poor so I just bought cube steak, which I fried. It was super tough after frying because I didn't bother with a marinade, and so I baked it in the oven for the full hour with the peppers. Afterwards, it was basically a dried out jerky, but had a really pleasant texture and tasted really good. What do you call this cooking process?

damn
what a shame
In a bowl I mix a couple of handfuls of cornflakes, about the same of grated cheese and some salt and vinegar crisps (which I understand aren't popular in the us). I break it all up so the crisps and cereal isn't quite so big and then dump in on the top of the cauliflower cheese before baking. It's important not to press it down to much, just a few gentle pats. It makes a fantastic crunchy, cheesy topping.
So, I'm going for my Sommelier certification.
Where do I start?
Any tips for studying?
Any good books or resources?
How quickly can I go through it all?
I'm going for the Court of Master Soms one.

I'm sure they will tell you this when you start the course.
>>8327732
From my understanding, they want you to also have the knowledge before the course.
It's a fast-paced course with a ton of info
I only get one chance to do it for free, I can't fuck it up
My work pays for everyone's first try
>>8327743
Idk, get the materials before it starts and read them?
I would think there's a shitload of info online about what knowledge is required to be a sommalier, too.

brassica vegetables (brocolli, cabbage, kale, brussels sprouts etc) as they are one of the vegetable food groups, as a child/young adult i hated them, now i cannot go a day without including a brassica of some kind
