I work in a hospital with this little old mexican lady who's super nice. Probably pushing 60, but she likes to get her drink on. Her birthday is next week and I'd like to get her a nice bottle of beer from bevmo. She likes ales and stouts, but nothing too bitter. We have a woman up in our MICU who brews their own beers and make an IPA; probably rate it a 30 on the IBU scale. I thought it was fine, perhaps even a little more sweet than bitter, but she thought it was a little too bitter... so maybe a 15-20 would be more in her range.

Anyway, bevmo is just down the street. What beer should I look into getting her? I was thinking of one of Lost Abbey's beers; high percentage, low-moderate bitterness and a relative sweet taste. Think this is a good beer to get her? If not, I'm taking recommendations for this little old sweetheart. Help make her birthday something to remember.

Why are you trying to get an old lady drunk, anon?
>>
>>8332184

Because she's gotten me drunk, and I want to return the favor. She's a real hoot, I'll tell you what. Goes above and beyond on the job, and is a real good person to boot. She's worked with me on a lot of projects and made my life just a bit easier. I want to get her something good this year and show her everything she does is really appreciated.

Hey man were going to need some pictures to accurately determine her tastes.

Have you met any famous chefs? Which ones? Did you learn anything new from them?

Pic related, this is me with Jack Scalfani. I met him earlier today and he taught me a way to cook my hamburger patties quicker.

What should I do with 5lbs of already cooked and seasoned bone-in chicken thighs? So far I've come up with making chicken salad, making a pasta casserole, or just eating lots of chicken tacos.

If you're really desperate, you can separate the meat and process it.

Once it is into a slurry, you can add in a binding agent and make chicken nuggets, karage, or other nugget-like pieces.

Bonus: as a slurry, it can easily be re-seasoned. You could even turn it into a sausage.
>>
>>8331689
What I would do
>make a shit ton of dough
>pick the meat down
>sautee up some onions/celery/carrots/potatoes/mushrooms/peas/etc.
>get it to a nice consistency
>mix in chicken
>use new mixture to make stuff buns
I'm actually doing this right now.

Im 25 years old and i love chocomilk. In fact, one of my favorite things to do is to invite a girl home, have sex with her, and in the morning ask her what does she want for breakfast. They normally ask for coffee. While they are drinking their coffee, i start pouring the chocomilk from the bottle to my cup very slowly, staring right in their eyes with a really serious expression, so they know im not fucking around with chocomilk. They normally just start crying at that point and leave my appartment, so i make another little scratch on my secret wall.

Is the common name for this Ma La Chicken? I love this shit but every city I'm in seems to call it something else. I've seen Ba Shu Chicken, Ma La Chicken, Sichuan Chili Chicken. Are there more names for it or a common term chinamen use for it so I can find it everywhere?

What is the best sandwich to make that has least sugar very low sugar I don't like sugar
With ingredients that last a long time, like cheese

I was thinking:
bread + butter + cheese + mayo + cheese (box mayo in) + butter (on the other bread) + bread

Maybe add ham and sausage? Any opinion and ideas?
I keep bread in fridge to make it last long

I can keep cheese in fridge for month and it will be dry but it will be edible

I am very lazy and I can't operate heavy kitchen machinery such as ovens or burners so I eat burgers a lot or pizza and I figure I might learn maybe some cook and maybe good sandwich good yes

I'm doing it guys, I'm at the end of my wits with my school's shitty dining hall. They force us to pay thousands of dollars (yes, you HAVE to have a meal plan, even if you don't live on campus).

When I get back home this evening, I'm gonna show the picture of the oily pasta. It was disgusting.

it's long

tl;dr the food fucking sucks and I'm submitting this to them

As for what I'd submit, it would be a McChicken.

It's a perfect example of a monopoly. Not only do you have no other choice for where to eat, but you're actually FORCED to eat there. What incentive do they have to improve when you'll eat there anyway no matter what crap they put in front of you?

Only the free market can save you.

Want to make potato gratin. Bought a mandolin. Any tips? My dad made it for me when i was a kid and pretty sure it gave me food poisoning and was really undercooked. I'm kind of scared of it.
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>8333457
You don't need a mandolin to slice spuds thinly. You just need good knife skills.
>>
The potatoes take longer to cook than you'd think. But that's about it, it's rather straight forward.
>>
>>8333457
>>8333479
How would a mandolin help? Would you play it while the gratin is in the oven to help it cook evenly?

Cheese doesn't go on pulled pork. Whether it's cheese or mac n cheese, cheese doesn't go on pulled pork sandwiches. The reason they are so popular is to taste the sauce and judge how good they are at BBQ. Not have it covered in a layer of cheese to mask the flavor.

I will cook a big chili for all my friends this evening. What should go in it?

I recently did this and had a hunter friend bring 5 pounds of ground deer meat to use in it. Be sure to make your own base. I suggest using the usual broth, tomato paste, etc... as a base but try adding reduced red wine. Make that bitch complex and rich.
If you do decide to go the venison route, be sure to get it cut with 10% beef fat or have some bacon grease on hand to cook it in. Stuff is lean as fuck.

You're obviously American....... and the person you were talking to was obviously Chinese.

Have you tried Pangolin? It tastes like a delicious mix of opossum and fingernail clippings! It also instantly cures erectile dysfunction by channeling the erections of your ancestors into your penis.

But pork is better.
