I need a solid lunch time meal that is healthy and doesn't require a lot of prep work and doesn't require me to eat bread.

Just made it.

Looks very decent. I'd eat it.
>>8487505
Thanks....its fried redfish btw
OP I want your dish in my mouth.
So, assume I'm an absolute retard who doesn't know shit about cooking, but really wants to start to learn how.
Where can I find some simple recipes so that I can start with some uber easy shit until I can make masterpieces?
YouTube. Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Food Wishes, Marco Pierre White, Cooking in Russia, Gennaro Contaldo.

Got it. Hate to be a pain in the ass, but is there any channel specifically for dieting/athletes?
Also, is there anyone who does deserts really well? I really want to learn how to make Marble Slab ice cream because that shit is the bomb.
>>8487461
This is a good answer. Id also say try Allrecipes.com, it is pretty good for beginners, its where I started. You could also ask some of your family or coworkers to share their favorite recipes with you, even if it sounds like a dish you wouldnt eat, just make it anyway and then share it with them for their opinion (if its their fave or best dish theyll know best how its supposed to taste) Another thing I wanna say is dont get discouraged. Like, I couldnt get roux at first and kept burning it and I felt like an idiotic failure, but eventually, was able to master it.
What the FUCK was her problem?

Food autism thread?
I'm so autistic that I don't eat beef because I'm afraid of mad cow disease.
I know you have to eat the nerve tissue and it's already unlikely, but I still avoid beef.

Homemade salsa is a meme. There is NO WAY you can make it cheaper than just buying a bottle. And the difference between homemade and a good bottle of salsa is minor. Prove me wrong. Salsa is one of the few things you're better off not making yourself.
>>8486957
There's a taqueria outside my workplace that gives you free house tortilla chips and red salsa. The salsa is amazing and easily beats anything Tostitos sells in a jar.
I'm going to drum up the courage to ask management if it's scratch or if they get it from a distributor, but I doubt it since it tastes like it has lime in it and no distributor is gonna add lime to a mass produced salsa.
>>8486982
they probably make it
places that give tortilla chips are usually legit
surprised to hear they dont have other salsa too
>>8486982
Maybe they add lime to store bought salsa
In any case just ask
Would you there get a sandwich with turkey and salami or ham and bacon? Also, what bread and other toppings?
>Pic related is mine
Turkey and salami. I don't like bacon much on sandwiches. Some kind of soft but chewy bread that doesn't stick to the roof of my mouth. Thank you for asking.
>>8486963
Thanks for answering! Loved your answer! Would you ever expand on your choices more? I think this could really be a great thread
I enjoy turkey sandwiches, bit of iceberg lettuce and a squirt of mayonnaise is great, not had one with salami as well, so can't comment on that.
I like brioche buns for bread, though I've never tried a cold-cut sandwich with one.
how do i make french fries in an oven so they're buttery on the inside and crispy on the outside?
>>8486851
Soak in ice water for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 450F. Dry potatoes completely with paper towels. Coat with corn or canola oil. Spread on cookie sheet not touching each other. Place on middle rack of oven. Give pan a good shake after 15 minutes. Cook another 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
>>8486862
Why would you season them after?
>>8486867
If you salt before I would think it might draw water from the potato risking a soggy exterior. Enough seasoning will adhere to the hot slightly oily exterior that it works fine.
If it really triggers you, try two batches and season one before and one after. Do it the way you like best from then on. I know seasoning after, works.
Also the cooking times are for approx. 1/4" cut potatoes.
Nothing compares to Papa Gino's
Little Caesar's really plays hardball with their $5 deal for a decent pizza.
Dominoes will always be my favorite amongst the chains. Sandy's/Gateway outside of chains, as they really know what they're doing with their sauce and use of cornmeal.
Plus, I can enjoy milkshakes, fries, subs, etc for a reasonable price. I can actually enjoy a mother fucking pizza and dip it in a milkshake then dip fries into the shake and eat those too. I can live the true American dream, but it's much much cheaper just to get some $5 pizza and a $7 thing of vodka and forget my shitty life.

That looks like a clickbait youtube video. Sad

Pizza is for children.
GUYS THIS TIME FOR REAL I NEED HELP. I am making a stir fry with shrimp and broccoli. I have a bunch of other shit people visiting told me to add like bell peppers and carrot and squash and while I disagree with them its gotta happen. I need advice on making stir fry sauces or anything you can tell me. SEND BACKUP.
Buy a premade sauce from the supermarket, simple. Also make the meal beforehand so the guests aren't like wtf am i eating and make sure it tastes nice.
>>8486761
I have that available but I didnt want to do that except as a last resort.
>>8486769
Making your own sauce is a little hard for the inexperienced though ready made sauces do the job unless your trying to impress your friends
Literally every other pasta is inferior or meme

Is there any way to get that charcoal cooked taste from burger without using a charcoal grill?
I love that smokiness a charcoal grill imparts but i dont have one and the weather isn't good for BBQ's/
>>8486163
Use Hima Kai salt. It's basically smoked salt that will give you that "over the coals" taste.
It's also known as Black Lava Sea Salt.
>>8486172
>Black Lava Sea Salt
Cheers mate, this sounds next level
>>8486189
You asked, I delivered. It's pretty large though, so I suggest grinding it in a mortar and pestle because application.
Should do the job though if that's the taste you're going for.
Whats the best way to prepare/cook vegetables for a stirfry?
Whenever I use vegetables such as peas/carrots/broccoli I either boil or steam them for a couple of minutes beforehand, in which case it goes soggy when fried, or I add them raw, and they are never cooked.
>>8486134
Ideally a stir fry goes down over such high heat that it's only in the wok for a couple minutes, max. If your stir frys are soggy your temperature is too low. You want the oil close to the smoke point.
>>8486134
Cook meat, set aside. Re-oil wok...add vegetables...if cooking too show a squirt of water will give them a quick steam and accelerate the cooking process.
When nearly done, add the meat back in to the wok, continue to toss and add your sauces. One minute later KABLOW you have a stir fry. Also I'm assuming you made rice while this is transpiring.
Plate it, put it in your fucking mouth and eat it.

Will bear these in mind. Thanks Anons.
