lol. it's pretty ridiculous what parents will and won't force their kids to eat. my mother forced me to eat fucking baked beans (which I'm okay with now) as a kid whenever she made them. what the fuck is the reason for that? I still don't understand it. I didn't like them. they made me gag. I still find the texture unappetizing sometimes.

one time I wanted to bread some chicken, and I just seasoned it, floured it and stuck it in the oven. no egg, no breadcrumbs. when the timer went off and I looked in the oven I was just like....you're a fucking idiot.

I spent a couple decades with a serious diet coke habit. My teeth seem not unusually damaged, other than normal wear and tear. People are different though, so who knows.

Recent studies on artificial sweeteners' effects on abdominal weight gain, even though the mechanisms aren't fully understood, seem like a really compelling reason to cut out diet sodas though.

mise en place. most of the time you can have the majority of your cleanup done before you even begin cooking. And yes, I know it's a basic thing, but going from running back and forth from the pantry, to the spice cabinet, to the fridge, and to the stove, to having everything already measured right in front of me was one of my favorite little tips that I have learned.
