What happened here?
>>
>>2260556
god got avant garde and accidentally created the most adorable animal
>>
Convergent evolution? Only instead of one similarity a lot of it happened..
Theyre probably the weirdest modern animals. Back in the day we had horse-giraffe-gorillas.
>>
>>2260560
>horse-giraffe-gorillas
Uh I'm gonna need sauce
>>
>>2260556
The icing on the cake is that they're also venomous
>>
>>2260561
Chalicotheres. Used to be plentiful on almost every continent, but died out about the time australopithecines developed.
>>

Yeah, these. I'm no zoologist or anything but I think they're pretty fucking neat and feels like some sort of fantasy animal that would still exist. I would imagine just more modern herbivores took their place. They might have been too slow and couldn't keep up. Maybe bred too slow, can't imagine how just born babies were compared to deer, antelope, did they live in herds, etc. A shame. I find them very unique.

Why did early humans hunt off all the cool animals?

Nah, they died out naturally. We were still cat food when they finally kicked it.

Here's AiG's version. Don't really understand the hair pattern, but it looks good.

Imagine armoured cavalry of these things

God took acid and listened to Ween
>>
>>2260556
Nature hit the question mark box on creature creation.
>>
>>2260808
These things make me wonder if we didn't evolve from them. I've always thought whites look more like horses with short snouts than apes or gorillas.

Thats where they went. They became us.

They do look slow as shit but those arm muscles and claws makes me think they put up a hell of a fight against predators. Maybe they lived in "herds"
>>
I'm just baffled that out of all monotremes that existed, there are only really 3 still around. What gives?
>>
Australian banter gone way too far.
>>
>>2262203
maybe it's harder to defend eggs when you're not venomous or can fly? idk how other reptiles and flightless birds do it, but maybe it's something to do with that?

Platypus is venomous at least.
>>
>>2262203
I have to admit that shitting, fucking, and laying eggs out of the same hole is a little gross compared to the modern system
>>
>>2260566
Yo

those are terrifying
>>
>>2262933
it's like anal sex and vaginal sex at the same time!
