Sup /an/,

I bought - supposedly - male fish. A bunch of them. I was advised they were all males because of their tail fin length etc. Now I find these in my tank.

Are they eggs? Or just... matter of some sort?

Eggs. Pics of fish?
>>
>>2258096
Thanks m/an/.

There's a fair few fish in there but here's the breakdown:

Corydora x 2
Red eyes x 3
Rummynose x 2
Sword tail x 1
Molly x 4

So, I guess that rules out any of the x1 species.

Honestly, don't know much about fish reproduction but does this mean the eggs are fertilised or waiting to be?
>>
>>2258105
They're corydoras eggs. They look fertilized for Cory eggs. If they stay clear they're not fertilized. In a few days you'll see the embryos. If fungus grows on them use melafix if you want them to live.

Not my pic.

I got 6 kittens 37days (5 1/2weeks) old
They all eat from dish and poop in box.
Recently at night they have been crawling all over my bed and a few even sleep there.
The runt seems to do this more but she loves me to death and follows me everywhere i go, she is sleeping here now.
Aside from having to wash sheets i wonder if there are any other risks with letting them do this more as a behavioral type thing.
I'm a fairly large guy but im not to worried about rolling over on one of them.
The biggest issue i had with them so far is they scratch the fuck out of my hands chest arms back legs and feet and it doesnt hurt but it just stings like a fucker. Worst is on the fingers. Cant text cant vidya cant beat off without making it worse.

Tons of interest for the kitties but got a bit of fb competition atm.
On one hand want the fuckers gone but i would like to keep a second one.
I have heard it is advisable to pair the kittens with one of the same sex so they have a play friend and won't impregnate each other when they get adopted anyone have experience?

I can get my cat fixed, but i must find someone willing to drive 1hr there and 1 hr back plus the wait time.
Is it standard for them to keep the cat overnight after surgery? I would think so.
So in order to get mama fixed i need to pay:
150 - operation (cheapest around)
30-50 - gas
50-75 - hotel
15-25 - food
~10-150 optional shopping.

So bare minimum 250$ just to get it done and up.
Its not cheap when you are in a rural area asking if you would like fries with that.

Clip the nails with toenail clippers to ease the scratching.

Paired animals are happy animals. Just remember it's twice the expenses. Sad they probably won't get shots and such but I don't expect much from the world.
>>
>>2257866
I did get mama both shots.
She really wants out now. But she only goes maybe 50 yards max before giving up and letting me grab her.

HATES DOG next door with passion of trillion suns.

you should just keep letting your cats breed indiscriminately until there are hundreds of them clawing at your flesh until you contract sepsis and die and they feed on your corpse and then cannibalize each other

the filth and stench will be so great they will just burn your house to the ground

so that's what you should do

Anyone know why my cat always wants to climb on my shoulders while I walk around?

Deeply ingrained hunting and survival behaviour.
They go up tall things because then they may scout the area for both predators and prey.
The prey wont see them and the predators will probably have to climb to get them.
Also being high up allows them to leap greater distances which assists with fight or flight conflicts and killing small prey.
Some cats would rather others hunt for them so they may be more likely to be low to the ground cats. But not always.

Also yea it is partially love and trust. Would you get in the car of someone you didnt trust and let them drive you around? Didnt think so.

I feel bad for sea mammals. We mammals went through so much to get out of the ocean and now they're back in it.

It's a shame that such friendly creatures as seals and intelligent whales and dolphins are forever doomed to live in the abysmal pool filled with abominations and primordial monsters that is the ocean.

arent dolphins and whales altruistic too?
>>
It's for our safety anon.
>>
>you are now aware dolphins have human like intelligence or perhaps greater and while humans have spent the last 200k years building civilization dolphins have spent many millions years aimlessly wandering the never ending abyss of the ocean bored out of their minds coming up with all kinds of complex shit but being unable to implement any of it

Found my snake like this earlier today, haven't been home since the weekend so I have no idea what happened.
My family is scared so it can't be them. No other pets either.
Currently no open vets that take in reptiles.
He's still alive, he moves his head.

Vet ASAP. That red underbelly is very concerning.

I went to check just to make sure I said anything. That looks to me like septicemia. Very important you get your snake to vet now if you want it to live.
>>

I hope that you're wrong about this. Can't get him to a vet until 8 am tomorrow.

Guys, why is the ocean so beautiful but so goddamn terrifying at the same time?

Because there's a lot of brown recluses in there.

And it's beautiful that God even made spiders for the ocean. Truly, He is great.

A word then, (for I will conquer it,)
The word final, superior to all,
Subtle, sent up—what is it?—I listen;
Are you whispering it, and have been all the time, you sea-waves?
Is that it from your liquid rims and wet sands?
Whereto answering, the sea,
Delaying not, hurrying not,
Whisper’d me through the night, and very plainly before day-break,
Lisp’d to me the low and delicious word DEATH;
And again Death—ever Death, Death, Death,
Hissing melodious, neither like the bird, nor like my arous’d child’s heart,
But edging near, as privately for me, rustling at my feet,
Creeping thence steadily up to my ears, and laving me softly all over,
Death, Death, Death, Death, Death.

Which I do not forget,
But fuse the song of my dusky demon and brother,
That he sang to me in the moonlight on Paumanok’s gray beach,
With the thousand responsive songs, at random,
My own songs, awaked from that hour;
And with them the key, the word up from the waves,
The word of the sweetest song, and all songs,
That strong and delicious word which, creeping to my feet,
The sea whisper’d me.

Because it's surface has an enourmous and dangerous power.
Because it's depths are filled with creatures and darkness.
Because it makes you feel vulnerable.
Because it's the unkown.
Because it has life all over.
I fucking love the ocean.

Why are these things so aggressive? The only dog I pass by a house and know exactly what breed it is just from it's bark with how often I hear them.
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Owners coddle small dogs like babies and create insecure, neurotic messes because they're untrained in pretty much every respect.

It's the same with Chihuahuas.
>>
More often than not because of lack of training. The owners are actually disrespecting the breed by not training them properly. They cater to a cliché and fit the lap dog into just that. Thus the dog fills a void in the master's selfish lifestyle and the dog's doggy existence becomes lesser.

It sickens me.

>Owners coddle small dogs like babies and create insecure, neurotic messes because they're untrained in pretty much every respect.
This, my aunt has a couple of fucking dogs, she obviously doesn't give them kicks or punishment when they do something wrong, so they just are wild animals, she even had an arm injury because the dogs always want to go by themselves and basically try to run when tied, they push so hard they even get suffocated by the necklaces.
I told her that they are mascot and she can treat them well, but they are animals and need training, hell, I have a kinda wild lovebird and he behaves better than her dogs because I tried to keep him educated.
Seriously, those dogs are fuckers, they even chew the phone when you call my aunt and she is using it.

COOL! I love Bettas with white on black colouring like Aku. But I am sad about what happened to Aku, just the other day I lost my deep blue and black male, he was so good to look at when I would put him into my female tank when I was cleaning his water, and and few years ago I owned one of the prettiest white half moons anyone could find. I wish I could meet them again, maybe I will some day.

Hey /an/, I'm picking up this cutie this weekend and it will be my first time raising a kitten. What are the necessities and some tips? Is it okay to let her just hang around the house while I'm at work at this age?
17 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
1- that kitten is too young to be taken away from its parents. it's too small to even be weaned. ideally it should be 12 weeks, but it should be weaned by 8. if you have any choice at all, never take home an underaged kitten.
2- it's a bad idea to have a kitten alone most of the day. really, you should never get a baby animal when it's going to be all by itself for 8 hours. they need to be constantly fed and socialized. at the very least you'll need to shut it in a room with a litterbox and food.
>>
>>2256699
This is just an old picture from a couple weeks ago when I first went and visited the litter. There will be people here, father and sister, they just won't be able to constantly watch it. But I can see where the concern stems from. So the days that I have to work and someone won't be home for a while, I should keep her in one space?
>>
>>2256700
that's a relief! yes, the kitten should be locked in one room constantly for a few days, mostly so it can get acclimated in a safe place. after that, it's okay to let the kitten out so long as there's no obvious dangers for it. definitely check for small spaces it could get stuck in. little kittens are a lot of trouble!

some tips:
-adopting two kittens keeps them from getting lonely while you're gone and playing too rough with you.
-dry food is not very good for cats. canned is better, look for grain-free food that's high in protein and fat.
-don't use a hooded box, and clean it at least once a day. it's best to use non-clumping litter since babycats are retarded and will try and eat it.
-I started training my cats at a young age. look into clicker training (I just use temptations treats and snap my fingers). I also would hold them in odd positions (so they would behave at the vets) and play with their paws so they mind nail trims less.

A really great cat nutrition website is catinfo.org. It'll tell you way more than you need to know.

Pitbull saves cat
>Family adopts pitbull from shelter
>they own a cat
>dog ignores cat and doesn't let her on the dog bed
>cat gets attacked by Coyotes in the garden
>as owners rush out pitbull attacks coyotes
>fights them off
>both animals are going to recover

Dog prolly realized that the owners love the cat

Some type of "dont touch my friends friend" reaction

After investing fight and injury on the cat he figured he might as well be cool with the cat himself

Dogs operate like small children so i think that about sums it up
