Are turtles actually minidinosaurs?
>>2329087
Yes.
sure
>>2329087
That's a tortoise. Turtles are wizards.
What is the consensus on these? Anyone have experiences with them?
I have always been turned off to these due to some neighbors years ago, who would be seen dragging these with live raccoons/cats/possums behind cars or the 4wheeler. Then burning them with gasoline or spray paint.. Understand this is not the typical use :/
For trapping raccoons, is it humane to release them miles away?

Doesn't hurt them any. Used these traps when I was helping take care of an old man. His backyard was filled with old cars and other junk. The stray cats were breeding uncontrolled. We caught them without hurting them.
My mom used to own a ton of these and would go out on all night stake-outs to trap wild cats. I can still almost smell the scent of mackerel and metal.
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/white-rhino-shot-dead-in-french-zoo-horn-sawn-off/ar-AAnZ1Wa?OCID=ansmsnnews11
Poachers broke into a French zoo, shot dead a rare white rhinoceros and sawed off its horn in what is believed to be the first time in Europe that a rhino in captivity has been attacked and killed.
The four-year-old male white rhino called Vince was found dead in his enclosure by his keeper at the Thoiry zoo and wildlife park about 50 km (30 miles) west of Paris on Tuesday morning after an overnight break-in, the zoo said.
Police, who were investigating the crime, said the rhino had been shot three times in the head and one of its horns had been sawn off, probably with a chainsaw.

Wow.
Fucking poachers.
>>2330620
Donno France got a lot of blacks too. If not one then the other.
>>2330622
They don't have a lot of those actually, and they're mostly in Paris.
Saw this weird looking thing on one of my plants in the yard and I saw it moving about but it wasn't caused by the wind. I went up to it to see what it was and it didn't seem alive despite seeming like it was feeding on the plant so I thought it was just a strange seed. The next day it had moved a significant distance for its size and vertically as well so i knew it had to be alive. This morning I found it with its head peaking out as in pic eating more of the plant. Could someone tell me what it is?

Considering getting a pair of pigeons or doves.
I have 2 cats but I'll buy a big strong cage and keep them seperate/put the cats in a room when they're out/etc
Is it a bad idea to have birds and cats in the same house?
You can keep those in a chicken wire coop until they big enough for eating
>>2332512
I think it is a bad idea but as long as you are sensible and keep them apart at all times it really shouldn't be a big deal.
I just bought some parsley yesterday night and I went to check on the plant this morning and it's completely wilted and (I'm assuming) unsalvageable? What the hell happened?
I'm just going to chop it off and freeze it but what can I do that this doesn't happen again?
You didn't water it you dingus.
>>2332484
I literally bought it less than 24 hours ago and the plant was upright and the soil was still damp from the shop.
>>2332498
Could've been overwatered even. Plants like parsley, celery etc wilt really quick, but they also bounce back quickly.

Am located in south eastern Australia.
2 1/2 months. Is this kitten big or small? He got sick for a few days where he almost didn't eat.
I want a big tomcat.
He is frightfully skinny. Give him good quality food, a nice place to sleep, a clean litter box, lots of love. Make sure he has his vaccinations and deworming done regularly.
I've adopted a lot of tiny kittens, and the males, if raised in good conditions, usually grow up to be monster sized.
Good luck, anon.
>>2332290
Yeah, it's odd. I've had a few cats too. Males, and they've all been the biggest cats in the neighborhood.
I've fed this one the same way. 2 meals per day. He eats as much as my adult cats now but he seems to never put on the weight apart from having a big balloon tummy. Skinny legs and tail.
The difference is that the mom was incredibly small. She was a stray that stopped caring for him about a month ago. She was really small. That's why I've been giving this guy milk twice a day too.

Try not feeding it for about 2 weeks. Should do the trick
Someone know what type of snake are them?

Hey guys i had a question about my snake-plant... these leaves seem to be like forming a crease or something and I wonder if its healthy, or if i should water it/give it sun/clean the leaves
Thanks!!!

Plants may be nature, but they sure aren't animals.
>>2332291
Oh, but this is Animal & Nature, only noticed that now. Sorry lol.
Try asking the plant general if you're still around. We do have plant stuff on occasion as they are part of nature
Hey everyone,
I'm considering going to school for a botany major. Does anyone have advice or critiques towards this? Perhaps a botanist could help guide me in the right direction.
God i hate botany, but i'm glad botanists exist so i don't have to do it.

That sounds quite interesting. I excel in science and enjoy chemistry. So I'm thinking about going into the medical research part. Otherwise I'd want to take it into a more hands on, explore rare plants around the world route if possible.
Good day everyone,
On the photo attached you can see a spider web around the lamp in my room. I am not at all disturbed by it. It's been there I think since late last year, but I have no intentions of removing it. With the summer approaching here in northern hemisphere, there is bound to be lots of annoying (and potentially dangerous) mosquitoes around. I would love to be a roommate of whatever spider wants to hang out on my ceiling (pun intended) and let them enjoy all the mosquitoes that come in to enjoy the lights and my blood.
The reason that I'm posting this is because I'm concerned that I actually don't have (at least I don't see) any spiders around my room! This is not the only web that has been erected, but they all now appear to be vacant! Over the winter there has not been absolutely any food in the webs, so I presume that whichever spider built the web may have died or moved out.
So my questions are:
1) What do you think happened to the spider that built the web? Is it possible that they hibernate somewhere in my room?
2) If the original spider is no longer around, is it likely that new spiders will move in with warmer weather spontaneously?
3) Will any new spider be happy that a web is already in place and gladly move in, or should I remove all the webs so that a new spider can erect it's own webs?
I'm mainly interested in the answers for number 3. The webs are strategically in perfect locations (on the lamp that insect seek and on the wall next to the window where they enter the room). And just today I noticed a number of small flies (and wings) in one web that I'm pretty sure weren't there just the other day, so I just hope that a spider appears to maintain the webs in good condition. There will be lots of food in the summer.
Thanks everyone!

This happens to me quite often as well. Spider makes a web, lives there for a few days or week, and then disappears without a trace. Why do they leave? What for, where to? I do not know, but it's a little depressing.
>>2332293
Feed it. Pretty logical I had one in a crevice above my door. A rat died between a wall in my house had huge wave of flies attracted in. The spider caught some too but I decided to collect a few in a container just for appreciation of the thing. I fed it pretty much one fly a day because it wasn't a huge spider. However after I ran out of flies and within a week or two it migrated.
My kittens eye gets stuck shut every time she sleeps. I use warm water to soften the eye then she opens it on her own. Is this mucus stuff boogers or pus? Im really worried.
