What is an albino smooth newt's chance of survival in the uk?
Found one today while clearing the back path of amphibians (take a bucket, pick up newts and toads, move to other side of path, less squished toads) and was wondering if it would survive in the wild.
Pic related, kinda looked like that but a fair bit smaller.

So in the UK you literally have to go out with your amphibian bucket and pick up toads and newts that are littering the path behind your house?
>I thought it was just a meme.
can this spider kill me?
>>2335326
That is a brown recluse. It can kill you.
tu q crees
>>2335326
No, it's unarmed. But still be careful because it's brown.
Are birds superior compared to dinosaurs?
Considering birds went on to survive while the rest died out, yes.
crocodiles are much better than dinosaurs desu

Hello Molly
You have a nice smile and cuddly body

She looks like a real sweety.
She looks like a good doggo and I hope she knows she is loved
What kind of spider is this
>>2335122
Look it in the eyes and consult the chart.
Head shape makes me think some sort of jumping spider. If so, it's a fairly big one.

Bold Jumping Spider.
I don't like spiders very much, or roaches for that matter. Jumping spiders are ok, but anything bigger with thise creepy legs I can't do.
I'd really like to be able to walk past even a dead roach without having a panic attack.
Any suggestions? I'm not sure how I would even go about doing this besides being exposed to different species. I don't know anyone that has bugs though
>>2335097
Roaches scare the shit outta me, as do centipedes. Other bugs dont bother me at all, ill let a spider crawl on me no problem. But if i see a pic related i bolt outta the room and return with body armor and a baseball bat
>>2335097
get a baby tarantula and watch it grow up

Exposure therapy is delicate business. There's a reason why people trust professionals to handle it. If you can afford it, there are therapists who specialize in treating phobias.
Funny dog pics?

Recently received 3 guinea pigs 2 days ago from an owner who could no longer keep them (one is 2 years old, rest are 1 year old) and I would appreciate any advice on keeping guinea pigs. I'm not very sure on how to get them to be comfortable with me being their owner, it's challenging changing their bedding when they keep running away when I try to pick them up and locate them somewhere elese temporarily. Help me /an/.
Let them outside, guinea pigs are never truly domesticated
How big is their cage? They need minimum of 8 square feet so the 2x4 Midwest habitat cages are good for them. More room means you can clean the cage fewer times each week. Make sure the bedding is care fresh or kaytee shredded paper, no wood shavings. As for having them get used to you, just spend time next to them and hand feed them stuff like romaine lettuce. I also recommend getting them a litter box like pic related. You can corral them in there and just lift the entire box to move them somewhere else. If you keep chasing them down to pick them up they'll be more scared of you.

A few other things, make sure that the pellets you give them are for guinea pigs and not for rabbits, some people make this mistake thinking that they are the same. Also avoid any pellet food that comes with weirdly colored pellets, they only need timothy hay based pellets. Make sure that the guinea pigs have constant access to hay as well. I recommend getting them things to chew as well such as apple sticks and other chew toys for guinea pigs. Good luck on taking care of them OP. They're always skittish at first but after bonding with them you can even keep them on your lap and cuddle.
I happened to take a photo and saw this at the corner.
Thanks in advance!
It's a stink bug
Without any kind of size to guess it's probably a stink bug
Dont know the real name but we call em stink bugs. They dont smell until you kill them and they are very slow and lazy. Ill see one in the morning and ill come back from work and itll be like 6 inches away from where it was lol. You can just pick it up and throw it outside theyre super docile bugs and u dont wanna squish em or theyll stink
I have an outside cat. What're the best ways to prevent fleas?
Everyone who posts in this thread below this line is a foolish fool.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm ok with being a cool, get rid of the meow.
I use my dirty oil from my garage (whatever I can get, transmission oil, engine, etc..) and mix it with fresh milk 20:1. Outside cats always come to me for a refreshing drink, this is what I give them. Neighbours think I am sweet, I know a cat in particular who died because of this.

Borg?
How long could a 5 mo. old Blue Heeler puppy survive in the frigid northeastern outdoors?
My polack neighbor let his dog's leash slip saturday night, and it ran off into the woods behind our collective houses. How much of a chance is there of that dog being alive still? The forest has a good bit of creeks and shallow ditches. Area is central new jersey.
Unless he found a way into some warm shelter or someone picked him up, like no chance. Hope he finds him before the blizzard

How cold are we talking about? Dogs have great survival instincts. It'll crawl somewhere that's tight to survive the cold.
A puppy bred to live in hot climates? Not long. RIP doggo
i was reading a book called "historiae naturalis" when i found this creature, idk nothing about it, someone know what it is?
I read old naturalist books sometimes and on occasion the author includes illustrations of fantasy animals that don't actually exist.
That, or it's just a deformed bird.
>>2334449
i dont found any mythological creature like that anywhere and it have a Scientific name, but i dont found anything about it :/
>>2334431
deformed chicken
the "galli" and "monstrosu" gave it away
Hey /an/
, so I've always wanted a dog but my landlord won't allow it so I'm thinking of getting a robotic vacuum instead. From what I've read they're quite trainable and will respond to voice commands. Unlike a dog it won't shit inside either and it will keep the apartment clean.
Anybody here have experience with autonomous vacuums? Which brand should I be looking at, they're priced anywhere from $300 to $1200.
Thanks
Don't tape knives to them.

I never thought of that, i think that would damage my furniture
