Help me settle an argument, /an/: is this red fox male or female?
>>2329683
Why? You gonna fuck it?
>>2329683
Who the fuck cares? It's a fox. Are you afraid of being called gay or something if you wanna fuck it?
WTF. Just found out that nearly all Americans lock their cats indoors for their entire lives and train them to shit indoors.
I was doing some research on cats because I want another one and every single guide tells you to train them with a litterbox and never let them out otherwise they will run away.
My cat was trained to do her business outside. I never fucking used a litterbox for her. She wandered the backyard and street and never had any issues. Why the FUCK wants to deal with cat poop indoors?
>outdoor cats

>nearly all Americans
kek no
don't mistake internet memes for reality
>>2329481
>i let my cat out to dig up and shit in other peoples gardens and generally ruin their property and the local ecosystem with no responsibility for my own animal
>but its not my problem because i never had to buy a litterbox
This is why you Europeans always need your authoritarian socialist monarchies to make you into cucked serfs and have no freedom of choice; you have no sense of responsibility or communal decency. Here in America we know how to be responsible for our own property and not ruin our society for our own personal benefit, which is why we don't need the government to tell us everything we can and can't do. You will never be free because your culture and civilization is inferior and you couldn't handle freedom if you had it. Enjoy your outdoor cats and your welfare state.
I want a pet elephant, but I can't find any for sale or any care sheets online. How do you get a little ele?
>>2329281
Kill it's mother for her ivory and wisk the baby away to your backyard.
>>2329281
I think an elephant is too intelligent to be kept as a pet. It would be cruel.
Can you guys help me identify this tree?
looks wooden

Not if you don't share your location.
Brown recluse. Make sure it doesn't get close to any pets or children you might have.

I let the dogs out
My fiancee and I want to get a dog. I've got experience, my parents have had a westie since I was like 5 and my sister has two husky/german shepherd mixes. My fiancee has not had a dog before but wants a corgi. I want an Australian Shepherd. Any input?
Don't get a corgi because it's in fashion. The poor guys have lots of health complications.
>>2329889
I agree to not get a corgi because of fashion. I suggest to get a corgi for the beauty, the smile, the talkativeness, and the endless healing and companionship they'll provide you. Get a corgi once you love corgis.
The potential for health issues is exaggerated. All dogs suffer from some.
>>2329871
If you're able to handle its high energy level (I'm assuming that's one reason you want it) I say get an Aussie. In my experience, they tend to a be a lot friendlier and have more people-pleasing attitudes than corgis. Both are cute, but hopefully your GF realizes that corgis aren't "small" dogs at all and actually need a ton of exercise. Best of luck!
>It's illegal to keep a hamster as a pet in my country
>Not even the zoos are allowed to own snakes
>The most exotic "pet" you can get is a fucking chinchilla
>The only native species you can keep as a pet is a fucking waterfowl

Kangaroo land? Kiwizone?

I wish I was Aussie, they have all kinds of cool shit.

Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.
Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size (include dimensions, not just volume)
-parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, GH, KH)
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

Remipedes are crustaceans that only live in coastal aquifers.
The australian night parrot is one of the most elusive birds in the world. At one point it hasn't been sighted for a hundred years.

this thread isn't complete without this FUCK alien

>Inject paralyzing venom
>Inject toxic saliva that digest the interior of the prey and then suck it like a milkshake

There is any insect more cruel than the assassin bug in the insect kingdom?

I think mother natures version of Ridley Scotts Alien is worse..
>The female tarantula hawk wasp stings and paralyzes a tarantula, then drags the specimen to a specially prepared brooding nest, where a single egg is laid on the spider's abdomen, and the entrance is covered.[1] Sex of the larvae is determined by fertilization; fertilized eggs produce females while unfertilized eggs produce males.[1] When the wasp larva hatches, it creates a small hole in the spider's abdomen, then enters and feeds voraciously, avoiding vital organs for as long as possible to keep the spider alive.[1] After several weeks, the larva pupates. Finally, the wasp becomes an adult and emerges from the spider's abdomen to continue the life cycle.
there are a plethora of wasps that lay eggs on living insects for the larva to eat alive from the inside out. Sometimes the host will even have it's lifespan extended due to the influence of the wasp. more than a lifetime of unimaginable suffering.
So my rat died today, I've never used this board, I dunno if this is the right place to put this, but I wanted to show her off, she was a fantastic pet, and I loved her. If anyone's had a pet die recently, post here so we can all look at them and talk about it?
>>2329825
I'm sorry Batman got your rat.
>>2329826
she deserved it, she was thieving scum. She actually stole that card off my desk and I got really lucky with the picture, i used to let her roam around my desk with her cage door open, and she'd take things and hide them. She was great.
>>2329825
Sorry for your loss, OP. next time around, though, maybe consider a better cage and not sentencing a social animal to die alone.
Getting husky like this one.. Can't decide on name
Suggestions?

Asuka.
Hey /an/! Anybody that works at a shelter or clinic here? If so, what the worst condition you've had an animal come in in?
Pic related. Husky we got in yesterday. Snout is in pretty bad shape, bare bone with a VERY bad infection all around it.
>>2329813
Oh boy, something I can contribute with.
Pic related is a cat that came in as a stray. You're looking at the belly, her back legs are at the bottom of the pic, she's in an upright position. There are two big holes, one looks kinda 'empty' for the most part but the other is absolutely full of pus. Likely a mammary tumor that burst and got infected.
She was sweet as hell, too. Poor thing.
I also had a cat come in a few weeks ago whos head was pretty much a bag of puss. We had to put her under the knife to clean her out, shit was awful.
She would try to rub her face on you and scream in pain because of how infected her head was.
No pic sorry
What the fuck is this shit in my cats tail?

Poor cat. This happened to my cat when I was in first grade and I brought it in for a presentation. And she doesn't even enjoy having anything lower than shoulders rubbed.
