How do you make friends as an adult?
I don't have time to socialize during the weekdays (work, gym, night classes). I don't want to go to a bar every weekend and burn money on alcohol.
Everyone around me seems to have their friend situation sorted out. I recently moved here and I don't know anybody. I tried to reach out to people online (made friends with 2 girls & 1 guy) but they eventually fizzled out.
What do I do, /adv/?

Volunteer your time to some local cause or organization that is meaningful for you. You'll meet people with whom you have at least one thing in common, and right off the bat, they'll know that you're not an entirely selfish person. When I moved to a small town, knowing no one, that's what I did. Worked out just fine.

There is only one person in this world I hate. His name is louie anthony gannon. He is pathetic and low. I have never been able to outwit him because he's so revoltingly slimy that he's willing to stoop to levels devoid of basic human dignity. Through trickery he prevented me from being present to see my own son be born. Now I have more dignity than to try to take revenge. But I cannot ignore the fact that this man is a convicted child sex offender who's intentionally hiding his address from the state in order to be able to live with minors. And that ones under 10 years of age. You can corroborate my story through a simple google search of his name.

I have a problem /adv/
I'm in a 4 year relationship with a girl who means so much to me. But the fact that I ended up with her because I was lonely and single for 22 years makes me think I was just doing it to cope with that loneliness.
But fast forward to now, I'm living with her in her home state, her parents really like me and expect us to get engaged any day now, and there's no signs that anything is going bad that either of us have expressed to anyone.
Now here's where the problem comes in.
I've made probably the best friend I think I've ever made the last few months from work. She's a girl and we spend almost every day together when we're working and we have the best time of our lives and, and she knows that I have a girlfriend.
My girlfriend know about her and how close of friends we are, but I'm positive that I feel more than friends and actually love her. And back at home there are days when I just feel like I don't love my girlfriend anymore, and we fight about the stupidest of things. I just realize we don't have as many interests as I originally thought we did. I don't know what to do right now.
I know my girlfriend is also the type of person who will NOT take any hint of breakup well, even go as far as to be near suicidal at the thought of us not being together. and I'm the kind of person who isn't capable of hurting anyone or causing them distress.
I just don't know what to do here. Sometimes I wish I could go back to before I ended up with her and stop this whole thing in it tracks preemptively, but I can't and now I'm stuck here.

I fucked up, I'm trapped in some real shit.
I'm just 19 years old but I live with my girlfriend because we could, we've been dating for three years or so but now I need to break up.
I love her, but she is ill in the head and I can't stand it anymore. The imaginary problems she creates on her head (for example, once she thought I was cheating on her because a friend told me she likes me) are taking its toll on my mental health.
Two days ago, while I was staying with my dad, my mother in law found her with a knife in her hand and had to take her to a clinic to sedate her. After the fact, she basically said that she isn't fit for living and the only reason she hasn't killed herself yet is me.
I need to break up, this shit is starting to affect in my academic life, and to be honest if I had to choose between my career and my relationship I'd choose my career without even thinking about it.
I advice to what to do, I need to break up with her but shit, she may fucking kill herself.
Right now the relationship is no good for any of us, she needs to grow as a person, learn to bee less dependent while I need peace so I can focus on my studies, but as I care a lot about her I can't just cut her.
Fuck me, what have I gotten into.

Look, weirdly as it sounds I had a friend with a REALLLY similar situation as you, but her girlfriend did kill herself.
She needs help, professional help. If she is blackmailing you to keep you close, staying too much time won't change a shit. Tell her you need time and that it hurts you see her like that.
Take her to a good doc and little by little stay far from her. You could also ask the psychologist/psychiatrist if there is any risk in breaking up with her now. He will probably tell you to do it, but ask anyway

Second, start thinking about how you're going to break up with her. My advice to you would be to tell her that for both of your health, you guys have to wind down your relationship and eventually you'll have to separate. You don't have to do it cold turkey, but you both have to start taking steps to letting the relationship die.
I got a feeling that breaking up with her won't be easy for you either, and that you're probably more codependent than you let on. You're probably more stable, so you have to take charge of the situation. You have to keep these facts, that your relationship isn't good for either of you, in mind at all times. And be prepared to take several years to feel fully healed, even when you guys aren't together anymore.
And if she does kill herself, it's not on you brother, you're too young to have been able to stopped it. In ten years you'll be so fucking skilled at dealing with things like this, but it might've turned out that she in ten years would still be looking for this kind of toxic relationship.

What's the best way to make some friends? I've been at my school for a year and I don't have have a single person to talk to. I joined a cyber security club, and while I like it, I've had no interaction with anyone in it because it's kinda just an extra lecture I have to attend. Any tips for making friends in some of my classes(all are large auditoriums), have any club recommendations, or tips? I kinda just want to have someone to talk to and meeting a qt would make me pretty happy.

Yeah, I already do all of that, and I don't even think I'm too bad socially. The problem for me is how to first get into initial contact with people at all and getting the person to stick. For example in my classes I will initiate conversation with some asking some general questions about the course and such and it goes fine, but then the class finishes we both walk out and never see/talk to each other again due to huge class size.

I'm 19, if it counts. I was diagnosed a few weeks back, when I had been diagnosed during a routine checkup. It's spread to my brain already. I'm pretty calm about dying, but I only regret leaving my parents behind. (I'm an only child as well.) It hurts me to see them so sad, their child deteriorating before their eyes. What should I do with my things? And what should I do to help my parents cope with things? My medical bills are pretty hefty, and I want to relieve some of that burden from them. Thanks, /adv/.
