What's the best way to make some friends? I've been at my school for a year and I don't have have a single person to talk to. I joined a cyber security club, and while I like it, I've had no interaction with anyone in it because it's kinda just an extra lecture I have to attend. Any tips for making friends in some of my classes(all are large auditoriums), have any club recommendations, or tips? I kinda just want to have someone to talk to and meeting a qt would make me pretty happy.

Anime club? Joking unless you're actually considering that. It works. Sometimes. You just get a. Bunch of yaoi crazy fangirls in most cases. Try to make friends with not only the 3.14s. Believe it or not, everyone wants to have a friend. Most are willing if you're civil and look okay. Use deodorant, shave, and dress decently. You're gonna get friends and maybe a decent qt from that. Good luck, anon!

Try starting a conversation with people you consider similar to you, however this works better at workplace/school.

Yeah, I already do all of that, and I don't even think I'm too bad socially. The problem for me is how to first get into initial contact with people at all and getting the person to stick. For example in my classes I will initiate conversation with some asking some general questions about the course and such and it goes fine, but then the class finishes we both walk out and never see/talk to each other again due to huge class size.

Try mantaining contact with them, initiative is important. Try approaching them and engaging in conversations and, after some time, they might talk to you without you even thinking of them. Friends tend to care about each other and what they think.

Also, I have a very hard time finding a way to initiate anything with strangers outside of class. Like do I just walk up to people and try talking to them? Isn't that a bit odd and intrusive?

Not necessarily walking up to and talking to random people. Small things like commenting on something. If someone is wearing a walking dead shirt ( or similar ) "Oh, I love that show! Did you see the episode where such & such!"

At lunch, in line for lunch.. Is that still a thing? I'm 32 leave me alone. "Oh, those cookies are the best, you gotta try X"

"Is that the new X phone? How do you like it? I've been thinking about switching"

These are just some random examples. I'm sure you'll be able to find opportunities. And hopefully read people when they are open to conversation.

Best of luck OP

Get in a position where you and a group of people can accomplish something together. Sports are a great start.

Join some service club - one that feeds the homeless or tutors kids or builds houses or something. You'll be doing things alongside others, and chatting while you work will be easy.
>>
>>18683495
School? You're supposed to be 18 to be here wtf?

I dunno, just a friendly easy going person.
>>
>>18683561
Depending on OP's approach, it may sound creepy or weird though. It's best not to risk it.

Join an anime or board game club. They are filled with autists and you will have a lot in common with them as well to talk about.
>>
>>18684584
Not OP, but I tried doing that and I'm not that much of an autist. And the one thing I'm interested in which is fightan vidya, but all I have are LoL/Dota/CS:GO garbage clubs

Funny story, I said something close to this on the first day of class. I was too focused on trying to land some solid connection with my classmate, and totally failed to take into account that we both had the same phones. To make matters worse, the class was sort of settling down when my classmate blurted "We have the same phones, dude." And a bunch of people turned their heads to look at me.

In retrospect, it was fucking hilarious. But at the time I felt so utterly embarrassed.
