Are there any Switching PSUs available for the Saturn? The Saturn has internal PSUs, and I want to run a Japanese Saturn on voltages that are around double what it's supposed to run on, without fucking around with the hack solution of step-down converters. Installing a European PSU is a working solution, but I don't want to cannibalize existing hardware, and I might move around a bit in the coming years, including to countries that have voltages around 100. Are there any form of aftermarket PSUs that can be installed?
I'd be interested to bookmark anything you find. Plan on having a similar problem one day soon.
You can try mod your PSU with mini-ITX power supply like that guy:
http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/dreamcast-psu-using-picopsu/
But it probably woud cost more than gutting old and busted Saturn.

There's also this mod anon.

I like RPG's a lot but there's one problem, the start. In a game like Daggerfall, your movement speed starts out low and it makes the game so much more sluggish especially with how it also affects turning with your mouse. How do you solve this specific problem in other RPG's?
>>4130354
You play Unity Daggerfall instead

>you play a game that doesn't exist yet

>Capcom director Yoshiki Okamoto commented that the game was part of a broader strategy of Capcom at the time to appeal to a wider audience by using established characters from other media, as their original characters could be too niche. Capcom also produced titles based on the comic Area 88 and Destiny of an Emperor in this era.[6]

LOL
Did Capcom really think that fucking Willow would be a bigger character than Mega man?
no, they thought they'd appeal to a wider audience by using established characters from other media.
They didn't release Disney games, Willow, the superior Willow arcade game, etc. instead of Mega Man.
>>4134068
They bet wrong with Willow then. The movie was a bomb, and so was the game. They had to give away copies to new employees to get rid of them.
>>4134087
>mfw I had Willow as a kid and I liked it.
I've always wanted to own every game for a single console and PS1 is one of my favorites thanks to childhood nostalgia and having some games I can enjoy as an adult. Would it be feasible to put together a complete PS1 set ? My plan is to get alot of the worthwhile games first like the Final Fantasies and platformers and then move on to the shovelware.
>>4133906
>Feasible
No.
No "complete set" is feasible. UNLESS you have a shitload of cash to throw around, up to and including someone to source product for you.
The PS1 is probably one of the consoles with a higher shit game to good game ratio. There's a lot of garbage, and it's got a very inflated library as a result. Stuff's also getting kind of expesive. I bought "Rhapsody: A musical adventure" complete like 5 years ago for I think 35, and it's like 80 now.
My advice to you. Don't bother. It's too late. Get a mod chip. Burn the games one by one as you beat them. Don't play the retro bubble game.
>>4133906
Way too late and too many games. Game gear May be the only one feasible with money.
>>4133906
>including the all the tons Japan only releases? No.
A lot of the PS1 library is shovelware. The amount of space you'd need to store all those games is a lot. If you're rich and have a big house go for it I guess.
Is using widescreen hacks in 3D games wrong?

which emulator?
>>4133267
It's a feature in the GlideN64 plugin, so you can use any emulator that has support for that plugin.
It got rave reviews. I also remember enjoying the first hitman game. Is this game not fun or is there something wrong with me or have my tastes changed.
>>4132250
Its more for the story. The gameplay itself was meh.
>>4132254
but that's not true. Level design is one of the best ever

If you can't even be bothered to say anything slightly interesting about the game and your criticisms, don't try to start a discussion, idiot. Delete this thread.

Give it to me straight: Should I play SC IV or Chronicles for the best version of Castlevania 1 / Simon's story?
Play both you nincompoop, they're both great.
But if you're in it for the lore then IV has more because half the game is Simon's journey to the castle. Chronicles is a lot more like the original in that you start at the castle already.
You should play both

What scare you the most when playing one of your favorite retro games?
Mine would be pic related and the swamp level from Jet force Gemini
Clanker scared the shit out of me as a kid and I quit playing the game for a long time because of it.
I used to be scared at Star Wars. What the fuck.
I was scared of the of the piano from Super Mario 64.
This game is harder than bolt-on tiddies
>>4130636
play the PC Engine version then
the birds do half damage and a couple other enemies are less aggressive
>>4130636
The game has a fearsome reputation as a hard game but it's really not. You only need to learn patterns. The only really hard part of the game is that one jump near the end of stage 6-2 (I believe) that even AVGN mentions. That jump prevented me from finishing the game as a kid, since I just couldn't pass it consistently and the times I did, I got crushed by the last boss because I didn't have enough practice on it.

also, anyone has this Grandia map in better quality?

Here's a big Tamriel map someone made by stitching all the provincial maps together.
Here's a map of the city in GERMS: Nerawareta Machi.
Which grandia games is this from? What year etc?

also it's not just game stores, all brick and mortar retail shops are dying off these days
>>4128365
Why would anyone maintain a brick & mortar store for anything but food or necessities?
There's no reason not to make eBay your official storefront. No employees, no rent, no overhead, your customers are EVERYONE in the country, instead of just your local douchebags, etc...
Having the storefront gives you the benefit of people coming in to give you trade ins
