no, you need a containment board because you can only talk about jews and every subject turns into a discussion about jews.
you're the fucking bronies and furries of today that's why you need a containment board you fucking autist.
Amiga was a great platform. So was c64.
This kind of graphics fascinate me to no end.

Will this ever see a re-release of some sort?
What are the chances of it ever being ported to VC?
A remake? HD port?
Have always wanted to play it, but emulators suck and the original hardware as well as the game is too expensive to buy from anywhere.
Any other ways to play it and "perfectly" experience it?
>>4129104
You can pick up a cart for like 25?

Try retroarch with either Mupen64Plus or ParaLLEl.
As a last resort there's also GlideN64 which is probably the most compatible gfx plugin right now

I just read in Wikipedia that the color space of the NES/Famicom is in YPbPr rather than the usual RGB, which is why the RGB mod kit for the NES/Famicom requires some extra parts and work compared to most other RGB mods for other consoles.
Now, is a Component YPbPr mod for the NES/Famicom possible for having better colors?
If it is possible, maybe a Component YPbPr mod for the NES/Famicom would yield better results and have better colors compared to an RGB mod, since RGB mods require emulator color palettes to convert the YPbPr color palette to RGB, and the NES/Famicom's native color palette is in YPbPr.
We might have the best of both worlds in our hands when we have a Component YPbPr mod for the NES/Famicom; the more accurate colors of Composite (albeit in better quality) with no need for emulator color palettes along with the better sharpness and clarity of RGB.
Has anyone attempted to make a Component YPbPr mod for the NES/Famicom which takes the NES/Famicom's color palette as is but outputs it in a better quality than Composite/RF?
>inb4 Tim Worthington's NESRGB mod has a Component YPbPr option
The NESRGB's Component YPbPr output literally takes the RGB emulator color palettes and converts is to Component YPbPr, it doesn't use the console's native YPbPr color palette.
I may be wrong and I may not understand how this works so please explain this to me.
Sorry in advance if I am wrong.
Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_console_palettes#NES
If the NES actually did use YPbPr (YUV) internally, such a conversion to RGB would be extremely simple math and shouldn't require any sort of extra work.
It doesn't though, rather YIQ, the color space NTSC is built around and is generated as composite outright. When people say the NES doesn't actually have a set palette, they're right, since the colors you get are entirely dependent on the exact formula used by the decoder in your TV to generate RGB values from the composite signal the NES is feeding it. If every TV used the exact same formula (and you didn't have to worry about phase shifting), you might be able to come up with a single palette, but that isn't the case.
The various "emulator palettes" are best guess approximations of what one could expect to get from [insert generic composite decoder here]; I don't actually had an RGB modded NES, but NakedArthur's Wavebeam palette is based on a tweaked Sony decoder specifically(I believe he may even have put out said decoder palette as it's own thing, but I could be wrong).
>>4129083
Wavebeam is inspired by both FBX HW and Sony CXA2075
>>4129051
>I may not understand
Yup
It isn't as bad as people say it is. It's actually extremely good quality for NES standards. People are like "The controls suck!" but they're no worse than, say, Castlevania. My favorite games from it are Non Human, Fire Breathers, Sombreros, and of course Cheetahmen.

For fuck's sake. Are you too lazy to play through yourself?

It's a slow and incredibly dated TBS. He's not missing out on anything by not playing it.
So I am playing Albert odyssey on my Saturn with pseudo saturn kai (most recent update), got pretty far in the game but this fucking bug that I am getting now is preventing me from going any further...
Picked up the rom on emu paradise but I don't believe its a bad rip as I picked up this picture from another website where someone was having the same issue...
Can anybody shed a bit of light on this? I honestly dont care if the game is just fucked and I can't go any further, but im not going to dedicate more time to trying to fix something thats fubar.
>>4128168
Pseudo Saturn doesn't have 100% compatibility.
You should've bought a modchip instead.
>>4128175
Normally I would agree with you but Ive made it more than halfway through the game.
does it really work that way?
>>4128175
good thing its easy as fuck to use the swap trick instead which does have 100% compatibility.
I have been playing UFOuria, I have the orange guy and the ghost, working on delivering the egg to the big eagle.

well thanks to you I'm now playing it and it's really fun. good animations.
I'm on Level 5 in Magical Pop'n, to the part where old bosses show up as normal enemies with new moves.

I recently dug my old Saturn out of storage to try to flash my Ram cart to play backups.
At some point I guess the controllers were thrown away or lost, checking on ebay they very expensive.
Seems like it is cheaper to buy a $20 converter and a $5 dualshock than pay about $30-$60 for a Saturn 3D controller.
Does anyone know if they sell reproduction controllers somewhere?
>>4128019
Another picture of the device.
My main problem would be that I think L and R would be C and Z. And it many Saturn games isn't the C button the main button like the A on Xbox or Square on PSX.
Would be awkward to press the trigger as a main button or in a situation where you need to tap it as fast as you can.

I didn't play shovelware as a kid.
Just finished The Secret of Monkey Island for the first time.
Man, I missed out when I was younger. I'm going to play Monkey Island 2 next, but what are some of your favorite point and click adventure games?
I played Space Quest IV and Leisure Suit Larry Love for Sail and loved those games.

All the LucasArts library is gold.
Yes, even Escape from MI: a shit MI game but great as far as videogames in general go.
King Quest is nice too, much harder than LA games but the world has the same "feel".
The first TTG games are good as well, before they went all CINEMATIC.
Day of the Tentacle is my favorite, right next to Secret of Monkey Island

Sam and Max hit the road
Finally got around to playing Earthbound.
Does anyone else think that aside from Magicant and the end game against Giygas, the second half of this game isn't too terribly interesting?
I feel like after Fourside the locales start to become less and less interesting and everything starts to feel a lot more brief.
Summers is short. Scaraba is short. The Deep Darkness is really short. Heck, even Poo is with you for only a brief amount of time.
The second half has less going over area you've already been. From Onett to Fourside you spend a good deal of time in the same area dealing with things. After Fourside you just take care of the issue for the area and move on to the next one.
I think it was meant to be a part of that "going on a tour around the globe" vibe they pushed in the strategy guide. You spend time getting your team together(minus Poo), then you go on a whirlwind tour of the world, flying from one place to another.
>>4127761
I appreciated it actually. Instead of one giant set piece after another it starts out feeling like you're a small kid in a big world, but as you go through the world you get stronger and gain new friends and the world starts to feel smaller, more manageable, the pace escalating as you approach the end.
>>4127782
>whirlwind tour
Yeah. I think that's a nice descriptor. Pink Cloud, for example, can probably be finished in five minutes of playtime.
so /vr/ what 'new' retro games are you playing currently?
>>4127742
>PS1 version
Make sure to try the Saturn version too. it's got many differences and if you ask me it's much better, for one thing you can bomb-jump and 2-3 levels are different.
Also
>PAL
the PAL PS1 version is unoptimized for 50hz and runs slower, but the PAL Saturn version runs at the intended speed, so that's another point
>>4127754
Fuck that, just play the PC remake that came out a year or two ago. Changed some things I believe, but far more playable than any other version. Was taken offline, though, so you'll need to look around for a download.
how do you like it op? i really loved it, except for that part where you have to bomb the ground
I like Guybrush and Elaine's relationship, and that Ron Gilbert doesn't like it is why I'm glad he left the series, and why I worry he'll go back to it someday.
I think they fucked up their marriage in Escape, because Elaine seemed to do nothing but talk down to Guybrush and/or shoo him away constantly. If there's one thing Tales got right it was showing them to be a more normal and loving married couple.
>>4127739
Elaine was super cute in Tales.
>>4127774
This.
The climax of Tales was pretty damn touching.
