hey fagets what's your opinion on CentOS
"My business is too poor for RHEL license" - the distro
>>61572619
i dont understand what that means
>>61572607
It's okay.
is protonmail another jewish scheme or it's better than gmail?
implying gmail isn't jude
>>61572415
Supposedly it's pretty good. I have a proton email that I don't use for much, but they encrypt everything so security should be alright.
My only reservation is we have no idea if they will/can unencrypt things on their end for themselves, law enforcement, or others.

Read the whole post man. Again.
why is this the current state of /g/
Bring back /prog/!!!
>>61572378
That thread looked almost like old 4chan for a minute
/g/ should be left as is and a new board should be made which is not about consumerism. But about hacking, no, faggots, not about "how to hack Facebook", but computer enthusiasts. With strict rules what can be posted.
Does anyone else feel a huge rush of nostalgia from retro hacking? Things like Hackerman from "Kung Fury", and of course the classic "Hackers" movie. It brings good memories of the internet before it was owned by cancerous and greedy companies. Definitely a simpler time. I still have our old family desktop from the late 90's. Good times.
install gentoo

Normies ruin everything.
yes...very good times xD

That's really kind of suprisingly shitty. I don't know they turned off SMT, they should have just found something else to differentiate it. The zen uarch really needs it's kick ass SMT implementation to perform well.
My 6600k gets like 750 and it's also a 4 core chip.
I wonder how it will look on vidya benchmarks compared to the i3's currently selling at it's price.
>>61572457
Poor man's i5, no reason to buy that shit
fixing to delid my 4690k. i have this thermal paste. Will it work well?
How do i hold the lid on the cpu once i take it off.
i went out and practiced on an athlon 64 and a phenom neither took that much damage from the vice but I want to protect the cpu i'm about to delid. How do I protect the side of the cpu from bending or cracking?
>>61572128
It's conductive, so no.
>>61572128
Try colgate
>>61572128
What are you hoping to achieve with this?
Install NetBSD
Hit me with some amazing niche/lesser known GNU/Linux distributions to install on my notebook.
>>61572126
what DE or WM is this?
Why
There is literally no reason other than ideological bullshit (which doesn't really belong in tech) to install anything other than a Linux distro. BSD has no technical advantage.

>women want to be raped because they show cleavage
Never understood this, showing cleavage is attention whoring and slutty, it can be a reason for starring and maybe guys getting touchy. But why would you try to defend rape with cleavage?
>>61572224
>But why would you try to defend rape with cleavage?
Because arabs.

you are evil
I've been using a combination of Gentoo, Arch and Debian for over 15 years now for my OS needs.
However, real life is forcing me to own either a modern windows or (according to them) an OSX machine is much more preferable.
>this kills the freetard
Is the macbook air still /g/s first choice when it comes to homosexual laptops?
The screen is pretty shit but it seems to have the best Linux support since ill be dualbooting arch for personal use.
Also it seems to be the only mac without the dongle autism.
>>61571783
I used Fedora, Ubuntu and Arch on my MacBook air but none of them worked as well as macOS on that computer. They would always run hot and battery life was about 30 minutes or an hour less than macOS.
Eventually, I bought a cheap X230 and I put Fedora and OpenBSD on it.
>should I get a computer with fuckhuge bezels, a screen that was good in 2007 and shit overall specs?
Gee, Idk OP, what do you think?
Dell XPS 13.
>>61571836
Were you using a newer kernel and tlp?
>>61571897
Thats also on the list but I kinda hate how the keyboard flexes and the non glass trackpad will be shit when the coating wears off.
