I use DDG for the bangs, but it definitely does track you. Open up a live CD for Ubuntu and look at DDG via FF on Ubuntu, and you'll see 'canonical' in the search bar. Type in 'whats my ip' and you'll get your X-FORWARDED-FOR header. They definitely track you.
