>Houdini is the present and future for everything you said
...and yet, its not even FLOSS.
Defend this, slowdinifags.
also Jimmy Neutron was animated in it
checkmate, atheists
>>573049
what did you mean by this?
>>573049
Who?
How easy is it to steal and plagiarist other people CG art, or Models, etc, and pass them of as yours? Almost Got caught. Want to work harder to cover my tracks. Pic related
KYS like the little faggot you are.
>>550263
>Muh intellectual Property
>>550253
How do you "almost" get caught stealing 3d models? Isn't it something that simply happens or not?
Where is my classic Transpose Line?
I just started using zbrush 4r8 and I have to use this gizmo all the time for making transformations.
I know I can get used to it, but I was already used to the old line.
>>572980
just turn off the 3d gizmo with that button on the right
or use that gizmo which is totally self explanatory
Alright so I don't want to get into a discussion about which package has the best tools or workflow or whatever...
Which traditional modeling package fucking crashes the least?
In my experience blender. A specific version of Maya crashed the least a while ago but the newer and older versions crash every 5 minutes.
>>572446
My favorite Maya crash right now is the "right clicking, at all, in the material editor might cause this" crash.
>>572445
The one that runs on a computer that wasn't overclocked.
How realistic are home motion capture systems?
>>570801
realistic enough for home motion animation projects.
Good enough for professional work. However you need good performers and you need to know what the hell you are actually going to do with the data once you have it. Motionbuilder is still king of the hill when it comes to working with mocap data. If you don't know how to get good results with motionbuilder, learn that first. Work on retargetting and processing the carnegie-mellon mocap library in motion builder, then get your own mocap hardware.
Are they difficult to setup and learn to use? Do you need to know scripting or coding at all?
This thing has been bugging everyytime I model with a blue print for orthos.
What happens when the blueprints don't line up. Every image was scaled up correctly, I believe. Most times I just wing it when its off a bit. But it still bugs the hell out of me.
Did I fuck up in cropping the images in photoshop? Like the scaling is different for everyone?
I also get my shit from The-Blueprints.com,
and for whatever some fuck odd reason, 2 of the 3 views would match up and at least one would noticeably off.
Any tips?
How do you create the image planes? if you have an image of say, 647 pixels tall by 1372 pixels wide, you should create a plane that is that many units high / wide, then scale it uniformly to fit your scene. Then just align them with snapping as needed. Now if the height of the side / front or front / top don't align you know for sure it's a problem with the image.
if the images are off just set up guides in photoshop and scale the largest images down to fit.
>>572571
Do the originals come overlapped like that?
>>572568
overlay them all in photoshop and correlate every point you can and you can see if its the drawing; if its not then check the image dimensions, then check the image planes
https://github.com/folkertdev/freestyle-gpencil-exporter/blob/master/freestyle_to_gpencil.py
Could somebody take a look at this script and see what's going on with it? It's supposed to turn Freestyle lines into Grease Pencil, it runs fine when put into Blenders script editor, but when I try enabling Freestyle, the Add-on, then rendering it, Blender just crashes. I can't figure it out.
Also, upon trying to run it in Blender 2.77(which it was made in) it seems to have issue with the line:
,options = { 'ANIMATABLE ' }
It's Blender. They change the Python API every single minor release. It's not a bug, it's a feature and it's open source, so you can fix it yourself.
>>572513
Still, you'd expect it to at least work in the version it was made for... but I absolutely do need this add-on to work, and it's lazy to ask others to fix it for me.
I guess I'll have to learn Python specifically to fix this. Are there any good resources for learning Python specifically for Blender?
Does anyone know what software Nicholas Fedorov uses to make his animations, and is there a free version I can use to make my own that is compatible on Windows 10?
>>570538
you can do this shit with any of them just about. just get maya
Yeah I know
>>570538
If your looking for something free blender is a great choice. But as stated >you can do this shit with any of them
I am working in Zbrush Core, and last night I painted a model with the intent to get a texture from it, not realizing (stupidly) that Core doesn't have texture support.
If possible, would anyone with a full version of Zbrush be willing to open the .ZPR and pull the texture for the model for me, with maybe like 3-4 pixels of padding? Unfortunately I don't have the funds to pay for a full version of Zbrush right now.

>not just getting zbrush off cgpeers
>>572737
This
I've been out of the loop and haven't modeled anything in years. This is the first I've heard of CGpeers.
Anyone have an invite?
That is one of the most blatant attempts to promote satanism to young people I've ever seen. It's transhumanism.
The guy is being modified by the machine all the while clenching his right fist, indicating the power that he's receiving with his left hand from the luciferian light. That's hard core esoteric stuff and I don't know how that's allowed. It's disgusting. But good job Blender Foundation. Your master will be grateful to you for all the souls you bring him.
Nice falseflagfagging
>>571974
>>retard confuses satanism and transhumanism
But Blender will still suck, that's true.
>>571980
enlighten me o wise man. Where is the trans-humanist element in the picture?
All i see is an dude in an armor and some maintenance equipment.
I found quick infographics like this super helpful when it came to figuring out low poly joint geometry.
Has anyone got anything similar for the shoulders, and waist?
>>571530
I really appreciate it anon, that's fantastic
anyone who's got absolutely anything like this, dumping it would be great. I find its really easy to remember and learn from one-off rules-of-thumb
>>571531
hey man just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
are you a rigger and/or animator? this could help me find the stuff that you need.
personally im not engaged in the subject but id like to know more
hey guys where do you get your reference pictures?
>pic related, can't find good reference pictures for rifle
>>571513
What you want is a sheet for top and side views i suppose?
>>571526
yes anon, that would be amazing, but any good reference site/picture would be amazing, gotta practice fusion 360
>>571540
Let's hope this may be useful, don't even ask me from where does it come, I don't even understand.
I've been using MagicaVoxel to recreate some of the Minecraft blocks in it, however I can't seem to find an easy way and manually had to colour each 1x1 block in a Minecraft's 16x16 block.
Is there a way to speed up this process (ie, am I using the software wrong/not knowing of a feature) or can you guys recommend me some free software which can add metal/glass/illuminating emission effects like MagicaVoxel does?
>>571488
It lets me render stuff like this.
It's just a box.
In a way this post is some of the best art on /3/.
So this is what I've started working after watched brotherhood.
What do you guys think on the model so far?
I think you should post in the WIP thread
I can tell your topology sucks
>>571748
yeah, bad topo over the teeth and in holes, op needs moar practice
Houdini has an alpha lad test geo. Blender Fags BTFO
yawn.
not FLOSS.
