Since the playstation is better than both which is better, the Saturn or the N64?

Saturn is better than the N64 and Playstation X.

64X was okay, but I prefer the Satan

def 64

i can think of like two saturn games you couldn't just play on the playstation

The megaten games are more interesting than persona from what I've seen, but the learning curve seems a lot steeper, especially in the early games. Where's a good place to start?

Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei on Super Famicom is a good intro to the series. It has remade versions of Megami Tensei I and II:

Thanks. Would I be missing anything not playing the fc versions of 1/2?

The old first person dungeon crawlers are just stat games. It's numbers battling numbers. Little or no story. Can't see anyone until you're right on top of them. Just navigating through a big map. Don't bother.

Original platform. The answer to this question for every game ever is always original platform. Save yourself the next dozen times making this exact thread and just write it on your monitor: "original platform."

I think this is the pinnacle of the Mega Man X franchise.

The Zero campaign is a thrillride of dashing and slicing things, and the difficulty is quite high without going completely overboard.

Campy (in a good way) voice acting in anime cutscenes, along with god-tier spritework and music, what more could you possibly want?

I thought the difficulty was a piece of cake and I ain't even good at these kinds of games. Zero's glitch slash destroys bosses in seconds.
>>
>>3934136
I think it gets exactly the amount of praise it deserves.

It's commonly accepted that the only really good X games are 1-4. 3 gets more hate than I feel is justified, much more than 4 does.

5 and 6 are just OK.

7 is absolutely terrible.
8 got praise because it wasn't as bad as 7.

I have played this game at least 40 or 50 times and I absolutely love the X series (even X6) and I honestly can't agree with you on this. Maybe my experience with the series has ruined the difficulty for me, but I honestly find X4 to be the easiest of the series by far.

Are there any good horror point-and-click adventure games that might appeal to my friend who loves Silent Hill?

I'm absolutely addicted to Sierra-style adventure games, and I have a friend whose favorite video game of all time is the original Silent Hill. I'd like to show her an adventure game she might enjoy.

I like the Gabriel Knight games, but while they do have a kind of spooky vibe, they're not really as scary as I'd like.

why does silent hill on ps1 cost so much jesus
>>
Aconcagua is THE middle ground between point and click games and survival horror games. It's not really a horror game, just a survival game but if you're trying to bridge genres for her and get her into something like say Shadow of the Comet or Prisoner of Ice that's the one or if it's not horrifying enough maybe the original Clock Tower

What about I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream?

So, I bought this PS1 almost two years ago. It was working just perfectly (I was playing Pandemonium! when this happened) when all of a sudden the graphics start to bug harshly and everything flickered. The 3D models remained almost the same (for some odd reason) but the letters and other sprites were ruined. Thinking it was just a minor glitch, I restarted the game. When it turns on again, the entire "Sony Interactive" screen and PS1 screens are ruined, as well as the games themselves. What happened? I tried everything (like changing TVs, swapping the AV cable for the PS2 one) but it remains like this. Any help? I dis-assembled the PS1 with my father (who was the one who repeteadly repaired my original PS1 back when I was little) but this time it was impossible. Everything seems perfect and there is not a welding problem in the AV input plug in the back. It is not the BIOS or else only the pre-game section would be fucked up. Any help? Pic is what happened.

You need this to get it running on Win7 tho.

Not playing it.

Seriously, if you want to play one game you'll have to play the entire series.
I hope you have time and will for that.
>>

Not OP, but I've played the whole series. I quit after Defiance though. I haven't bothered getting my hopes up for anything else to come with it. They should've released Dead Son under a different series title, but whatever.

Man SNES boxart is so fucking ugly in general, this thick black border with the messy boxart and badly placed font is always so shit. Why didn't we just get the much superior Super Famicom stuff?
34 posts and 10 images submitted.
>>
I don't necessarily dislike the black borders but that's just how western design is in general, Genesis had the same kind of stuff, Playstation has the black border, sega saturn also has a border.
I think westerners think it's easier to market something if it has a distinctive design/template or something.
>>
>>3933172
It always looks so busy and generic. Tons of badly placed icons just everywhere on the entire box. The Super Famicom stuff is so clean, colorful and on point.
>>
I feel really bad for the Rushing Beat series. They had the worst western SNES boxes.

The Konami titles got a improvement, though. Contra Spirits and Akumajou Dracula have the fugliest Sufami covers.

Rumor: Nintendo may be launching a SNES Classic/Mini this year, which might explain why the NES Classic was discontinued.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-04-19-sources-nintendo-to-launch-snes-mini-this-year

If it's true, what games would you want to see on it?

is yoshi's island still forbidden due to sfx chip licensing issues?
>>
I'd like to see it on a store shelf even one single time, if possible.
>>
If the rumor is true, the way the NES Classic was managed will ensure that no SNES classic will see a consumer's hand without first going through second tier resellers. It will be near impossible to walk into a store and outright buy one.

YES, CEREBRATE?

I just moved out of state but had to leave all my vidya behind because I drove, and could only take with me what I could fit in my car. Since I moved, both my parents have moved, and my dad recently called and told me I have to retrieve all my games soon or he's going to dispose of them.

What's the best way to send for my games? It's about a 1500 mile distance, if that matters.
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Probably FedEx Express. It won't be cheap, but it'll get there quick.
>>
Be expensive to ship them and that's a long drive in a rented U-haul. When I moved out I packed all the games first and left a bunch of clothes and shit behind. Priorities, man. At the very least let your dad know that shit is worth money and he shouldn't just toss them.
>>
>>3931619
I did get him to hold off getting rid of them, but he's still anxious to do so.

I opted to take my record collection with me instead of the video games. Much heavier, but they take up less space and I've got more money's worth of records than I do video games. Had to at least bring some of my autism on the road.

>>3931617
Thanks for the suggestion. Money's not too much of an issue. I work so many hours that I don't even have time to spend the shit wages I make, 'cept on the weekend.

>Put a dreamcast away in storage ~10 years ago
>Bought it when it was new, played it pretty frequently up until I put it away
>Put the console along with my controllers and games in a plastic, sealed container in my closet where it is completely dark and no sun/extreme temperatures in any way could affect it
>Decide to pull it out
>Open the container
>Immense metallic scent fills the whole room, I have to open the window and reseal the container

What do you guys think happened? Has this ever happened to you guys? Should I even risk plugging it in or will the shit set itself on fire?

I've never heard of anything like that before, but my only guess would be that a electrolytic cap spewed it's juice.
>>

Bump, for intrest.
>>
>>3931558

trying to think of what it could be...perhaps a metal in the system reacted with chemicals from the plastic of the container after being sealed for so many years?

regardless, i definitely would consider plugging it in outside to test first before powering it on indoors.
