>Finish first battleship

>Hyperspace beast eats in en route

This game still frustrates me at times.

but you knew the hyperspace beast was active
you should have bought some defense at your colony
and many small ships with missiles are better than a battleship in the early game
>>
>>3935974
You are doing it wrong. You make 1 ship with thick armor and shields. This is gonna be your tanking ship. And then you build tons of little ships with 2 shot rocketlaunchers, maybe add the special equipment to shoot 2 times in a turn.

This is your devastator fleet.

In battle let go of all the missiles, while flying your big armored ship in front. After that, warp out the rocket ships and wait for the missiles to destroy the enemy. If there are still enemies around after that, warp out your last ship and rinse and repeat until the enemy is done.

What are some good 80s WRPGs? I have been playing JRPGs forever, but for some reason, I've never given WRPGs much of a chance, and I want to start with some early ones. I already know about Wizardry, Ultima, and Might & Magic. What else am I missing?

There are also others like Order of the Griffin and Warriors of the Eternal Sun, but I've not played them so I don't know if they're any good.

Has anyone managed to play this on a modern computer WITH MUSIC?
i thought the rips online were shit and went to aunt's house, ripped the old CD i used back then, and i STILL DONT HAVE MUSIC.
I don't know what else to do besides compatibility mode, which didn't work.

The problem is bad enough that some retard online rated the game badly because "it had absolutely no music".. but there's a "music volume" setting on options. How dumb..

Sounds like a typical issue with games that uses CD audio tracks? Use Alcohol and mount that if you aren't using a physical CD. I used to use WinCDEmu but those virtual drive programs never get CD audio working. Alcohol works though.
>>
>>3935838
i was using daemontools and i had no problem with other games. I also tried "virtual clonedrive" because i had in installed, neither worked. Will try alcohol i guess.

Should I replay Link's Awakening just for the true ending?

Really made me feel down after but dupposedly you see Marin's wish granted.

Is it worth the time? I enjoyed the game and first time ive considered replaying one.

I did that a while ago. If you feel like playing the game again, might as well go for the perfect run while you're at it.

I liked Croc.

I don't know about better than Mario, it was a bit too stiff for that.. But, still a very good and high quality game for the time.

I played a demo on the PS1, and then later owned it on PC.

I was browsing lemonamiga trying to find games for my retro collection (I was sinclairotard and missed amiga/c64), and this occurred to me: is Amiga the most pointless home computer ever made? Expensive as fuck, and it shined like, for a 2 years of 1991/1990 or so, immediately to be dethroned by PC. And before that, it was all about ports from arcade/commodore 64. Early goldbox engine games looked best on amiga, too.

What is the point of this machine game-wise besides being inferior version of PC?

>Expensive as fuck, and it shined like, for a 2 years of 1991/1990 or so, immediately to be dethroned by PC
You're thinking of something else. The Amiga was released in '85, it was far cheaper than the competition, and it *shone* for 5 or 6 years. IT was bad choices by Commodore that killed it, not the competition. And the Amiga has admittedly obscure technical capabilities that today's computer's still can't match - look up the Copper, and it's abilities to interrupt video frames, for one.

It has a ton of amazing and unique games, even though none of them are europlatformers, beat-em-ups or fighting games.

>It has a ton of amazing and unique games
Well, maybe not a ton, because even then games were ported. But there are cases when the Amiga version is unquestionably the best one.
>>
>>3925053
In it's day the Amiga also had far better sound capabilities than pretty much any PC that didn't have a high end professional sound module.

How many DBZ games have you played?
Which ones did you enjoy?

I've already played all the fighting games and the SNES RPG, and recently got into playing the Super Goku-den games.
Finished the first one, pretty awesome presentation, weird battle system.
Currently playing Super Goku-den 2, I had to start over because I fucked up at one of the quiz and got a bad ending, Raditz takes Gohan with him and destroy Earth a year later along with Nappa and Vegeta.
Anyone else played these games? There's quite a few things I don't understand, not only about the combat system but also about the dragon ball-collectan, I don't get the DB% or how do I affect it.

There's a story based 1v1 fighter on the PC Engine. You play as Goku against 6 different opponents in the story, and there's cutscenes identical to the show

It's kinda weird, some kind of real time turn based fighter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yM4ubAMRTcs

There's also the Mega Drive game that is similar to Butouden series, and has characters from the Frieza and Android sagas

I'm slightly lean toward Super Butoden 2 as my favorite, but HD definitely comes second, it's amazing, and the sprite art is ridiculously good.
I wonder why such a good game was made for the SFC; it was a very late release in 1996, and it came after the failure on PS1 that was UB22.

Fun dungeon crawler even now, at least until Baya Malay Tower. The SMS Power re-translation/convenience hack helps this a lot. I wish the major late-game bosses weren't so dependent on luck, but oh well.

There are two variants of Zelda Four Swords: the GBA version and the Gamecube version. Obviously the Gamecube version has better graphics on the main screen; but are those different games otherwise or is it basically the same game content-wise?

>>
>>3943625
Four Swords is basically a mini game compared to adventures. They are not the same game at all.
>>
Different games.

Never played the GBA one but iirc it's just a small 4 dungeons bonus based on ALLTP.

The GC is a full game. I highly recommend it in coop if you have at least one other freind who's into Zelda and if you have each a GBA and a Link cable. It doesn't top FF:Crystal Chronicles in that regard, but it's really good. These two games are the sole reasons I still keep my GC around, because the co-op only works on GC, not on Wii.

I'm surprised this series isnt talked about on vr since the games have good and original platforming designs.

The second game on the super famicom finally got a translation and its just down to graphics hacking now, currently being done by DDSTranslations: https://twitter.com/DDSTrans. 3 and 4 are in the works too.

Whats your favorite game in the series? GG4 is one of the most impressive games graphics and gameplay wise on the sufami library, full of beautifully crafted backgrounds that put some next gen games to shame.

It's hard picking a favorite because my first one was Mystical Ninja 64 and it remains my favorite, it got Goemon's wacky style and humor just right, the characters and story are hilarious and the ending is genius. The game also happens to be one of the best 3D adventure games of 5th gen, despite some people thinking it has "aged" because of no camera control, but I think it works fine, never had trouble with this game.
From the 2D ones, It's a hard choice between GG4 and GGA
>>
I liked the one of the SNES for the coop play, and it was generally a pretty fun platformer. Had some good dungeons such as the one that would rotate the whole room.

The first one on the N64 was a solid adventure game with a frustrating camera. Not enough to ruin it since at least the it always refocuses behind the character.

/vr/ is full of trend whores, and wannabes who pretend not to be. So any discussion of a game that's not a "classic" isn't going to happen here.

Unless a fad starts, an e-celeb makes a video, or the price gets too high...
Then contrarian mode will kick in and the wannabes will jump down your throat for mentioning anything remotely popular at all.

Oh. And NEVER have an original thought, or admit to even playing a newer game, because yoi'll get called a fad 'gamer' and get generalized at..

Hope your thread turns out good thoigh.
