Well probably the easiest way is to make the ghost a powerful person from long ago who's so vengeful he came back from the dead to fuck shit up or come back to the world of the living. Though you could also flip that they're so greedy they want to take the world for themselves since now they're more or less immortal.

I'm building a European fantasy setting. I got the idea to take East Asian beliefs and use Western beliefs to fill the niches to create something new.
The setting has a social system based on Plato's philosophy, magic is primarily Hermetic, and the wider metaphysical outline of the setting is Christian.
What I'm pondering is what would be western analogues to the 8 immortals?

No, but it allows for some utility thrown in with whatever else must-have never-changes invocations that you can rotate through.
Honestly, I like Warlock for the flavor invocations. Mask of Many Faces, etc, and I desperately wanna play one, but I think I'll just frustrate myself.

I could see it working- Carbines used to be pretty clearly inferior to Rifles (pinning wasn't worth much, the 3" longer 2-shot range wasn't enough to balance out losing 12" of max range), but now that Assault units can Advance and still shoot, Carbine-FW can act as more mobile troops.

I'm led to believe Paizo makes their gays already in relationships because then they aren't a romantic threat to the PCs. They're conniving filthy good for nothing bastards, but they know their audience and a significant portion want to play straight men and sometimes straight women.

Mystic has more damage on cantrips than Envoy has on attacks.
Mystic has spellcasting.
Mystic's healing is better in literally every way possible.

Getting ready for my first /qst/ thread.
Asking for art surrounding Russian-themed robots, sci-fi military personnel (~2080 A.D.), cyber slavs, sweeping robot battlefields, distinctly Russian sci fi tech, and perhaps a little chinese/korean of the same just to cover my bases and give players options.
Setting is the Overwatch 'verse. Location is Siberia. Main/POV Character is a recently reawakened GodMind A.I. that nearly destroyed Russia in the first Omnic Crisis: Koschei The Deathless
(Not to be confused with Racter's Drone, but that certainly helped inspire this character concept)

It could work. Kinda reminds me of the holds and the way TES games are divvied up, if Skyrim was the whole world instead of part of Cyrodil.
As for a similar culture, it's just because of proximity, common languages, and things like that. If they're close enough together, of course they'd have a similar culture.
I'll need more to go on to make sure your setting isn't too bad, but it seems fine to me atm.

Sup /tg/. DM for a group here. Gonna be running a couple of my normie friends through a DnD game soon-ish. The issue is that one of them doesn't "get" roll20 and wants to know if there's anything simpler while also keeping the free pricetag. I heard that there was a way to crack Fantasy Grounds II or something, but I can't find any information on that. Is it still a thing or is there anything better and not too complicated for a girl who's deepest foray into complicated fantasy RPG's was Skyrim.

To answer your question, so long as your group is fine with it and it fits the setting, there shouldn't be a problem. If they're not fine with it, talk to them about it. If it doesn't fit the setting, either drop the idea or talk to your DM about adapting the idea to fit.

So I see this referenced a lot, and generally as a bad thing. But I don't understand.
What exactly is wrong with "It's what my character would do"?
Is it because you want a more in depth justification, and it feels like a cop out? What if the person is actually playing a character that that is the depth of their thoughts?
If there is a pile of loot, and my guy takes more than his share and people say "wtf" and I shrug and say "It's what my character would do", what is the issue? My character is greedy and callous.

Because there's more to the game than what your character would do.
Aside from the fact that you should make a character suited to the premise of the game and who will cooperate with the other players, you aren't playing in a vacuum. What's best for the other players and the game as a whole should always be something you consider. It's often a matter of compromise, how you can stay true to your character while also not being disruptive, ensuring your actions add to the experience of the game rather than detract from them. You're all there to have fun, after all.
