our next 5e campaign is starting in the medieval fantasy equivalent to new york city, a densely populated, highly corrupt, melting pot coast city. the city is home to pretty much every intelligent humanoid race including the monstrous ones "Orcs, Kobolds, Goblins, ect.." as long as they can abide by some basic laws.
i want to make a thriving red light district for the players to visit full of gambling houses, underground fighting rings, warehouses for illegal goods, and of course brothels. And if i know my players, they will jump at the chance to visit one given the opportunity.
So ide like to hear some interesting, funny, or unusual concepts for prostitutes and other NPCs for the city. i'll pretty much include any races because of the extreme diversity.
some additional ideas i had

>pockets of orc and goblin slums where muggings are common but you can get good mercenaries and illegal substances very easily.
>a city watch that has no standard equipment for the guards. guards are allowed to use whatever type of weapons or fighting styles they like. spell casting, fist fighting, and great bows are just as valid as the normal spear and shield.

Look up the 5e Starter Set. If you've read through that and it's what you want, go to your nearest game shop and look at getting the 5e Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master's Guide. Or you can stop by the /5eg/ thread that's up and take the pdf's from the mega trove. Also everyone will tell you to not play D&D because they don't like it, which automatically means you won't for some reason.

So the wife and I are going to be buying a house sometime next year, and we are already shopping around houses to get an idea of what we are looking for.
One thing is we are making sure our house will get a game room. I have a dream of a rectangular room (preferably in a basement to keep cool during hot summers) where I can line the walls with shelves and book cases (for books, boxes, minis, and terrain) and in the very center will be a standard 4'x6' game table.
I already have plans to build a table to be double layered, so you can store your minis case/extra minis underneath the top of the table, and the surface will have a 1" lip around it to curb dice rolling.
So I ask you, fellow anons, what would you consider a reasonable space surrounding a game table to play comfortably? I know I will most likely not get the exact layout pictured, but it's a practice to determine what minimum dimensions will I need for a game room.
For example, using pictured, if (x) is say 3 feet, then my game room would need to be minimum 12 feet by 15 feet.
Also, I would like to hear your thoughts on what you guys would like for a game room, or if you already have it, describe yours. Pictures welcome. MSPaint diagrams would be awesome too.

It all honestly comes down to the game you're playing. My dad has a table he built for LOTR / SW Armada and Bolt Action, but when he wants to bust out Black Powder he has to grab the fold up tables and add an extension.

I've got 1000 points of guard infantry (vets with lots of special weapons + scions) including a valkyrie and a sentinel.
I also have a bunch of Grey Knight terminators, around 20 power armoured dudes, a landraider, and a couple dreads.
What should I take from the Grey Knight list to make up the guard army to 1500points (or whatever is common) ?

I don't think the term "attack" is fully defined anywhere, but I feel like it refers to the full use of the profile of the weapon. I doubt attack translates directly to dice.

If there is one class that attracts them more, I wager rogue. Not because of any inherent flaw to the class, but because rogue characters seem to come with the stereotype that it's more okay to be a pain in the ass. Same underlying cause as players who think it's okay to steal from the friendly NPC and get upset when the party call them out on it, just with different motives and actions.
That said, I don't think any one class actually attracts more. If you're committed to being "so speshul" then it just depends on the kind of special you are. There are plenty of Wizards and Warlocks who have their edgy backstories to prove it.

Running a wild west-inspired game with hexcrawl and mid-travel encounters. My players don't like casters being able to dump level 3+ spells every round on some shitty goblins if long rests are common, so we're homebrewing a system that restores more or less resources (HP, HD, SP, spell slots, PP) when you're roughing it.
I need like 2-4 more modifiers, particularly some negative ones.
What are some of the dangers of travel in ye olde fantasy west or camping outdoors in general, and how can that be mitigated?
