Take one example of the Horus Heresy. Magnus knew there was a grave threat to the Emperor, but he had been forbade from contacting him using warp powers.

Now if the Emperor had said "Son, don't use your powers for now. I'm making an important psyker throne just for you to be the most important psyker of them all. whatever you do don't break through my protective barrier."

How much would have been prevented on just that little bit of knowledge?

In character voices is always cringe to me though, could never fucking do it (as a player or GM). Even the best GMs made me cringe with that shit too.

Thank god for internet games where OOC can be delegated to voice and IC can be strictly text.

Our party recently randomly encountered a mimic party. There was a treasure chest fighter, a barrel rogue, a beautycase bard, a crate factotum, and a golden statue cleric - currently shattered, waiting to be raised. They all came from the same dungeon that was looted by adventurers, and decided to try that adventuring business out themselves.

There's also a half-giant cleric that follows this homebrew goddess of blacksmiths and mothers, often hanging out with the player party. Her mission statement: protect the little ones (i.e. everyone else)! She has a thick Russian accent and a white tiger animal companion.

Truth be told, I designed this guy as a nobody PCs could talk to if they needed anything. He's become an in joke, a meme, and a hero among us.

Meerkats are very perceptive and alert, highly social, scrappy as fuck and have some immunity to venoms. Their claws are good enough for intensive digging and would make decent natural weapons. I could see a meerkat based hero as a good brawler/scout type with some limited healing factor. Basically wolverine but less antisocial. You could even toss in some precognition and/or empath powers and it wouldn't be terribly out of place
