Why would a wizard slum it with a bunch of random adventurers when he can do all they can do and more if he so decided?

Me and some friends want to play in the steven universe setting but don't know what system to use

preferably something that handles
>modern age technology and maybe beyond
>summonable semi-permanent weapons
>good variation of melee combat
>a certain degree of magic
>flexibility for races to be modified a bit

the rest is extras, unless there's anything that can handle more than one player becoming one being or controlling a bigger character in unison

i'm completely lost

this is not a steven universe thread, please don't derail it with waifuposting or whatever, keep it /tg/

Based on everything I've heard about both, Anima would reflect SU's action quite well.

If you want the fusion stuff to be prominent you should go narrative, though. I'd recommend a flavor of either Fate, or Cortex Plus.

my suggestion is to try d20 basic.
the system is simple and streamlined but with enough crunch to feel good.
Use 5e bounded accuracy and magic or Mutants and Masterminds super powers.
You could try and just go M&M but for me the combat is too bog down by rolls. But thats my taste if you enjoy the combat M&M is the perfect system for you.
Boy would I love to play a Steven U game.

Nah. In some systems melee weapon damage is melee weapon damage, so you don't have to change things mechanically to suit the description. In some other instances damage type so infrequently has an effect that changing it doesn't really matter, so who cares. Finally, refluffing weapons often involves weapons that are more similar to their proposed mechanical basis than a baseball bat is to a battleaxe, i.e. dealing the same damage type.

Have you ever defeated an enemy via baleful polymorph, trap the soul, flesh to stone, temporal stasis, crystallize, microcosm, or so on, and left them in that state indefinitely?

Our DM let us polymorph someone into a goldfish, then mage hand him off a cliff. The cliff did not have water at the bottom.

He remained in that form for the rest of his life.

For enemy, we turned one into stone. That was a mistake though because overtime she sort of regained her consciousness and control of her body, and eventually managed to become molten in form so that she could move better.

What if roleplaying went mainstream and everybody starting talking & writing about it like they do about NFL football and Game of Thrones?

Would you stay in the hobby? Would this be good? Would mega-corporations take over the entire industry? Would there be RPG television channels 24/7?

I'm not really sure what mainstreaming would entail, but sure. I played during the 3.x boom and managed to be in pretty high demand as a DM among people who had largely not played before. It was fun then, and would probably be more fun now that I know what I'm doing a little better.

Only can really be said for nurgle. They even make it a point that Khorne doesn't care who's blood spills, only that it remains flowing uninterrupted. Tzeentch has fucked over his own side many times I'm sure. Not sure about slaanesh but I wouldn't put it past her/him/it.

RW angel ramp. Ichor and Myosinth Wellsprings, follow up with Shrapnel Blasts and Angelic Purges. Curve into an Seraph of the Sword or Day of Judgement. Emancipation Angel also bounces your Phyrexian goodies. Twilight Shepherd and Flameblade Angel as the biggies. One for damage, the other for DoJ.

I like tribal, especially if you can do something fun with it. Like Lovisa Cold-Eyes, but all the creatures are red waifu. I made a red-only vampire deck, all the original Innistrad vamps with Blade of the Bloodchief and burn spells.

I HATE stepping on wet cloth. But as far as pain, yes. d4s are dreadful, though I've only stepped on one when I went to a player's house for a session, the messy bastards.

I'm a fan of swirly, but I also like vibrant solids, like a radioactive green. Translucent dice a shit, and yellow often looks like piss, so fuck that noise.

I'm not picky, I will take almost any dice color scheme so long as the color of the dice surface and the color of the numbers are distinct enough to be clearly read from any reasonable distance.

where do you go, or what do you, do when you are stuck for ideas?

I look to pc's back stories and see what can be used as a plot hook. Also just pulling shit that I enjoy. I also spit ball ideas to online friends and some of my players to have a little back and forth.

I look to music a lot. There's usually songs about crap that inspires me. I also have a folder of non-character art stuff that looks interesting. If I can't think of anything, I'll go through that to see if any of it sparks an idea. Worst case, nothing and I just start making random towns and shit, thinking about what would be near that town, and how it would interact with its neighbors. If they would have some sort of conflict, that could be interesting for PCs. Doing something as simple as making a local bakery can bring other ideas to the surface.

I'm going to be starting up a post apocalyptic campaign soon and I feel like ammo management should be a significant part of the survival in the wasteland experience.

The system I'm using though only has generic pistol ammo, rifle ammo, shotgun shells, etc.

How much granularity / detail should there be in specific ammo types?

Should I use real world ammo types? Made up ammo? Some broad categories? Something in between?

Could use some input on the best way to implement a bit more crunch without bogging everything down.
