Any interesting MTG salt stories?

>play burning vengeance deck against a friend
>they are playing UG evolve
>they call my deck garbage for not having counterspells
>as the game goes on, I get the upper hand with burning vengeance value

Tribal people are people they create the same society that rest of people do, but they live in tribes.

I have a friend that wants me to run and he loves this series. So far this is my favorite part of Jojo with the whole mystery solving aspect and the idea of characters with weird powers that only other characters with weird powers can see is appealing.

That and I came up with a shitty encounter.

Finally got over Fantasy Battle's death. Was playing Skaven and Chaos Dwarfs.

I'm thinking about moving to 40k. Any armies TLDR on mechanics, or just army type test?

I like the look of Tyranids, but I've heard that they pretty much always sucked and I'm not sure if I want to paint loads of models again.

Is there any army that fields few models? GK maybe?

I don't like Space Marines, only BA and GK seems alright from them.

Tyranids in 3rd and 4th were great. They started slowly going downhill and now only really work as a mid range shooty army, most units are very average with only 1 or 2 actually being good, I still collect them cause ive loved them for over a decade but still!

Marines, Chaos, Certain Necron lists, Certain Eldar lists and certain tau lists can feature few models

OP what you want is Dungeon World

It's pretty much objectively one of the best currently out there. It has fast easy to use mechsnics and is perfect for beginners, it's a lot cheaper than most of these other rules bloated systems that cost fifty dollars. There is no reason for extra rules when it is he role playing that matters. Dungeon World is fast and innovative and still feels exactly like the spirit of ADND before DnD 3.5 destroyed the hobby and ruined a generation of role players.

You want fast, intuitive combat? Dungeon World does that.

You want real, deep roleplaying mechanics? Dungeon World does that.

You want great mechanics that reward diversity of play? Dungeon World does that as well.

My last session of Dungeon World my human fighter wrapped a vampire in a bear hug and wrestled him out a window. This is real roleplaying we are talking about here, not babby 3.5 shit. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Dungeon World today, it is an evolution and perfection of the half-formed ideas in Apocalypse World (the game it is derived from)

What happened? Nobody wants to play humans, elves, dwarves, and halflings any more... they want to play characters straight from Deviant Art, like this:

>angelic choir singer of light, kitsune illusionist and foxfire pyromancer, dullahan gunslinger and spirit speaker, and graceful kirin doctor and swashbuckler working together to beat down the misguided fool trying to end the concept of nighttime and then make friends with the former villain over tea and cookies.

We all like classic fantasy races because they've got a strong legacy behind them, inspired by mythology... They make underdog heroes who beat impossible odds... fighting monsters and killing threats no man should reasonably be able to kill.

The classic races aren't defined by cheap gimmicks or WHAT they are... they're defined by WHO they are. They make believable, relatable characters we can all understand. We need relatable heroes we can cheer for in high fantasy... not demons. Not angels. Not spirits. Not fairies. Not kitsune...

In my experience, the ones who play things like kitsune and angels are always WORSE roleplayers than the ones who play dwarves and elves.

I've found that if you limit people to playing classic fantasy races, they'll think about their characters more and roleplay better... because restriction breeds creativity. When I DM, I restrict races to classic fantasy races, and even the bad players suddenly roleplay better.

Classic fantasy needs to be appreciated more... get back to the roots of it all, with humans, elves, dwarves, and halflings. Anyone else agree?
