I need some help with my campaign:

Every campaign I run I always have one scenario/dungeon room/entire dungeon that has dance and music related traps, puzzles and what not. My players expect one to always be somewhere, but right now I've run into writers block. I can't think of anything I haven't already done once. These include:

>Floor throw the players around if they don't dance to rhythm
>Fill the blanks of a looping song to open a door
>Mandatory participation in a square dance to get through a room without the ghosts dancing there attacking
>Joining a choir of lamenting cursed people that they slowly needed to turn into a more uplifting song without the choir noticing it until they've started to be happy again
>Having to pull off a proper dive bomb on a giant electric guitar
>Participate in a Whose line Is It Anyways? style hoedown/Irish song
>Following the steps of a dance to cross a bridge that keeps de- and rematerializing in tune with the steps
>Having to guess the name of a song based on the hints within the lyrics
>Pointing out a ghost in a haunted opera house who is singing off tune

And now I can't think of anything new anymore. Any ideas?

Our GM is sick this week, and I'd like to try and run a little something for the guys so we still got some RPGing going on in the week. I'm considering either this or Cyberpunk blues, so if anybody has any specific tips for those, that'd be great, but just any all around GM tips are better.

Homebrew Psyker disciplines in 40K tabletop.

I've decided I want to play with them in some fluff, but I'm not sure how to balance them.

Suppose you read about some psyker powers that could heal Corruption and Insanty in people affected by them. Either an NPC character possessed them, or player characters had an opportunity to acquire them.

What prerequisites would you give them? Clearly it'd require a high willpower and some choice knowledges and skills to be able to concoct such an ability. But the part that's tripping me up is at what psyker level does an ability like that seem reasonable to develop?

For reference, the NPC in question comes from a daemon world and developed these abilities after a lifetime of their colony world being inundated in chaos and warp energy.

The ability to heal a tainted soul. Maybe even undo a mutation caused by the warp, further down the tree. There are a few powers that deal with the biology, but there don't seem to be any that really deal with repairing the mind and soul.

Recovering from physical injuries with biomancy is one thing, and there's already rules for it in DH1, if I remember correctly. Using warp energy to cure yourself of the permanent taint of warp energy within your soul is fucking retarded.

I'd say there are some obvious discrepancies between ships, and a whole lot of errors that should have been caught by a proofreader. The game seems fun but it's in need of more diversity with respect to the roles and special abilities of ships.

Some ships are clearly inferior to others. The St Petersburg against the Avalon, Jade against Topaz, Hector against Bellerophon etc.
I'm concerned that since everything dies so quickly, Battleships are deadweight in comparison to the equivalent points in Cruisers. The exception is the Diamond, which is so absurdly deadly that it gets a pass.
Until Corvettes are released, Strike Carriers seem unreasonably hard to deal with. The Medea is especially problematic, while Voidgates seem overwhelming without dedicated removal ships.
Corvettes should have squad sizes bigger than 3,and the Beijing would have been really cool at 250pts.

I think that enforcing a 1-ship-1-gun rule was a poor decision. I think that ships could have been given a 'Gunnery' rating that allowed them to fire a certain number of guns under standard orders. As it is, Weapons Free seems utterly necessary to get any mileage out of BC/BS.

I've heard that a lot of games devolve into scrums over critical points. Hopefully this is a 'Git Gud' issue and not something inherently wrong with the game.

Just being honest. The game is still great and looks amazing on the table.

Inconceivable.

Can someone let me know if this concept for a race seems to Mary-sue-ish?

>Humanoid, but taller then most humans. Average height 6'4, ranges from the extremes of 5'8" to 6'10", with the chance that a very rare big guy might crack 7 foot
>Muscular
>Deep red skin, ranges from crimson to lighter full reds
>thin, black, recurved horns, sprouting from above the brow, growing usually over a foot long.
>Some are bald, others have black hair to various lengths, but no body hair
>The eyes are completely yellow besides the pupil
>Temperments are typically strong willed, passionate, sinister, wrathfull, loyal, and smug ( and kinda dumb )

essentially a race for if a player wants a boost to strength minus int. that fits into my campains aesthetic

Also general racial discussion I suppose

Personally, I always found that the more 'basic' rules don't take that long to learn. Once the really weird stuff with priorities and triggers and whatnot comes in, you'll be into the game enough that it won't be a chore or already decided that its not your thing. Get a friend, buy a duel deck or precons and start hitting each other with creatures.

>Any tips for a noob GM?
Don't be a dick.
Plan, but remain flexible.
Be willing to make something up if the alternative is grinding the game to a halt by digging through the rulebook.
Don't be a dick.
Reward players for ingenuity.
Don't reward players for metagaming.
Don't be a dick.
Remember that the game is collaborative, not a novel, so player decisions should matter.
Don't be a dick.
Don't be a dick.

Let's do this! As the title says we are going to make a 40k sector. Here are the rules:

>You can say what planets/icons, etc from the template you wish to add, where they are going to be and the name of it

>It will be added if your post ends in a 1

>Daemon worlds and craftworlds can only be added if the post is trips of any numbers

>Chaos worlds, exodite worlds, space hulks, and Anomolous objects can only be added with dubs of 11

>Be serious so it can fit 40k

>A planet/icon, etc can be voted away by 5 or more Anons.

>Try to come up with a bit of backstory and fluff if you wish

>Have fun and be nice. No shitposting allowed either!

>Carvain's Repentance
-Cardinal World
-The Galactic North-West

This world was settled by Rogue Trader Carvain Meskri on behalf of the Ecclesiarchy. Carvain, after realizing he had tread the line between Loyalty and Heresy far too close for comfort, he led the efforts to colonize this planet in an attempt to cleanse himself of his sins several hundred years ago. To this day, the Meskri Dynasty have developed a tradition of having the second child of the current Warrant Holder dedicate themselves to the Ecclesiarchy and receive their training on this world.
