Once plate armor was common axes were phased out and swords were still used you know why? Because axes were fucking garbage read about any medieval battle and look what weapons they mention, they talk about spears, halberds, swords, bows but axes? Rarely.
Such a pile of shit.
>>50133795
A halberd is just an axe with a really long handle and an extra spike.
>>50133795
You are literally the only one who cares or could possibly care this much.

Look, mom, I've posted this again!

Specifically would any chapter have access to them in 40k? Basically I love the mk3 armour and I love flesh tearers would I be able to combine the two? By the time of 40k would there even be any around? Maybe they are still being produced in some backwater forgeworld ill equipped to make the newer mks? What are your thoughts?
>>50131908
It's 40k, nobody gives a shit about fluff and nobody will appreciate it, you're not gonna get people who care unless you play 30k, so just do whatever. You're gonna get tabled by unpainted Tau anyway.
>>50131908
If you paint mk. 3 in Flesh Tearers colors, evidently they have mk. 3 suits.
>>50131908
Space Sharks
Have you ever played in a game where your character is somebody from Earth who ends up in a fantasy land, WITHOUT it turning into a shitty self insert?
>>50131865
What? A player's character will always be self-insert to some degree.
>>50131865
What have I told you guys about learning dragons economy?! THIS IS HOW WE GET SHADOWRUNS
>>50132434
I disagree. Many characters might have some common traits with the player, but lots of players do not self-insert at all. When I RP, I ask myself "What would (character) do?" not "What would I do?"

I want to make a sword and board warder focusing on silver crane and iron tortoise. Any suggestions?
See, this is what happens. We even talked about last thread the aggressive thread deletion. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
That being said, how do you all make use of PoW characters as enemies? Not all enemies are just lifted out of the bestiary, often you'll use enemies with PC levels. In my experience enemies with PoW levels are far too deadly for most parties compared to 1st party PCs.
>>50131792
I've heard one thing you can do is give the enemy a few maneuvers, a stance, and such to help hold it's own against PoW players.
Full PoW enemies might be too much for level 1 PCs but by level 5-8 they should be fine.
How do you make make a group of Lawful Good paladin intimidating to even non-evil characters without:
>Using the "they were actually evil all along!" trope
>Falling in the "all fanaticism eventually leads to evil, only sith deal in absolutes" moral relativism trap
>Using some retarded "It's not murder if it's an elf" justification
>Being literally retarded and claiming that torture, violence against non-combatants and slaughtering an enemy who has surrendered aren't evil acts
?
The paladin mustgit gud
Run him through a small test, with questions like this:
>If you knew worlds is ending tomorrow, what would you do?
>Is mercy a sin?
etc
Have them be VERY determined.Tracking down and fighting evil is literally their divine mission and they are going to put every single ounce of energy their mortal bodies have into this task
>>50131686
Give them the legal power to send you to jail, and preferential treatment in courts.
Works great for real life cops.
Beeple-Beep Beep! If guardsman are the elite of the elite from countless planets, why are they treated like fodder by everyone, especially since space marines are practically mythologically rare?
>>50131397
>If guardsman are the elite of the elite
They are?
>>50131501
Some are, some are just Hive and manufacturia scum
>>50131397
*guardsmen
First, they're fighting against killing machines of various types.
Also, they are more numerous than gaunts, why do you expect people to mother them? Enlistment might as well be a form of population control in the Imperium.
Then, you have incompetent or incompatible commanders, that got a front to fill with units as explicitely named as " 127th Gruddarian Volpikers" or "Arzam's dozen". Don't be surprised if your recon regiment ends up in trenches because some munitorum adept made a mistake in some database.
Is it bad etiquette to now show up for the second day of an event?
I've been using tabletop as an excuse/way to force myself to be social and interact with people and I'm currently in a 2-day tournament,
I am not enjoying the experience of being stuck in a fairly crowded room with others. Talking between rounds, I mentioned this to someone and the TO moved some tables out into another room and asked for a bit of noise control.
I should be thankful for this accommodation, but I feel patronized and do not like having others know that that It bothered me. I regret bringing that up at all, especially since several people there know that it was me had issues;
I am considering not showing up to day 2, but I know that 2 others will get by-rounds and I'd be insulting the accommodations that were provided.
>>50131004
Sorry, last line did not get pasted,
Am I just being an autistic faggot at this point? Which is worse, showing up with the shame of accommodations or just not showing up at all?
>>50131040
Kinda, yeah...sorry mate
I think the fact that they tried to accommodate you means they enjoyed having you around to some degree, so I wouldn't worry about them too much.
Are you having fun there anon? That's really the most important thing. If you're enjoying yourself it'd be silly to deny yourself fun.
Are Proxy battles or super sentai more conducive to a good roleplaying game experience?
>>50130920
As someone who doesn't like either, I'd say sentai. It is more active than standing behind a pet.
>>50131360
What if the summoner still had choices to make for a support role? Then the duo can punch above their weight class by virtue of adaptability.
>>50131360
Well, with "proxy battles" you can have a good excuse for having a tactical gamey combat in an otherwise simple system.
I'm doing some goofy homebrew for an OSR game that I may or may not be distributing. One of the classes I want to include is Scientologist. Am I going to run into any problems from the actual Church of Scientology, or will they care? I've heard they're fucking crazy and sue-happy, and I don't want to deal with that sort of thing.
>>50130747
Too late OP, they can get your IP and now know to be on the lookout for people in that area putting on OSR games.
In case that doesn't happen though, as long as you don't make it public and don't record it and don't post your class notes online, you should be fine
>>50130781
What he said. I heard Anonymous has some experience with that kind of thing.
>>50130781
So, basically, it's fine so long as I don't show it to the internet and keep it as a joke between me and my friends?
Hey Elegan/t G/entleman!
How do you truly scare your players during your campaign?
What do you do to make the sleep with the lights on after the mountain dew is drained and the snacks are gone?
What is the scariest campaign you have run/participated in?
>>50130735
I tell them that I put some uranium in the Mt. Dew and they didn't notice because it already tastes like poison.
Its hard to make anyone scared when theyre surrounded by joke cracking friends. You gotta set the mood properly.
Invite your violent, drunk uncle to the game.
>devout necromancer
>family is a long line of necromancers
>have built up a pristine necromancer reputation
>daughter wants to be a druid

>>50130572
Tell her she has a duty to her family that transcends what she wants out of life.Is this just a loli thread?
>>50130572
Good! Druids mean more frolicking animals, and more frolicking animals means more corpses down the line.
Maybe she is trying to become a Blighter
How would you make a wrestling themed character?Hard Mode: How would you make him more then just a one note joke character?
Have him be a person outside of his combat persona. He puts on the big bombastic face while fighting because he wants to put on a good show, and maybe keep bloodshed to a minimum.
Hell, the reason he could be a wrestler is because he hates bloodshed, and trying to get enemies to fight him unarmed can keep anyone from dying.
Make sure he can speak a TON of languages, or at least enough of each to be able to issue a well worded challenge to a proper smack down, and to get everyone to throw down their weapons for a test of strength.
Of course, you'd have times when such an option won't be present. Have him use proper weapons when that happens. He always TRIES to do things without crushing skulls, but sometimes, it's not an option.
You realise there's an entire rpg for this

It's Rebecca Black. We've been looking for a new bard, she can't be any worse than the one we have at the moment.
How well would an armored campaign by the Armageddon Steel Legion do against an entrenched Death Korps army, if both were given ample time to prepare?
Would we see the historical advantage of armor and mobility weigh heavily against trench warfare?
>>50129787
How well did the Wehrmacht do against the Maginot Line?
>>50129869
Didn't even bother fighting it. They just went around.
